Peter Bamler was last engaged at the Badener Staatstheater in Karlsruhe. Among other roles he played Baron Tusenbach in Chekhov's 'Three Sisters', directed by Peter Hatházy, and Aldo in the original production of Bodo Kirchhoff's 'Drei Fische für zwei Paare'.

Peter Bamler gathered his first stage experience as stage technician for tour productions at the theater of his hometown Lindau. He received his actor's training at the "Hochschule der Künste" in Berlin from 1984 until 1988. Engagements in Düsseldorf followed, first at the Jugendtheater (e.g. as Murph in 'Der Indianer will zur Bronx', as Groucho Marx in the 'Marx Brothers Radio Show' and as Jatagan in 'Ein seltsamer Kampfum die Stadt Sarmakand'), then at the Schauspielhaus. In 1993 he was awarded with the "Förderpreis der Stadt Düsseldorf". In 1994 Peter Bamler became an ensemble member of the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, where he appeared as Lyngstrand in 'Die Frau vom Meer', as Andrew Bleichenwang in 'Was ihr wollt', as Helm in 'Herr Paul' by Tankred Dorst, as George Pigden in 'Außer Kontrolle' and as narrator in 'Heinrich der Fünfte'. In 1998 Peter Bamler performed as Mike Mitchell in 'Sonntag in New York' at the Komödie im Bayrischen Hof, and he was Mortimer Brewster in 'Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen' at the Comödie Bochum in 1999 and 2000.

His TV appearances include 'Einsatz für Lohbeck', 'Anwalt Abel', 'SoKo 5113', 'Streit um Drei', 'Herzschlag - Das Ärzteteam Nord' and 'Medicopter 117'.
