Short black hair, which she wore in punk rock styles in her early films ("Repo Man", "Weird Science").

Of East Indian descent, Balgobin settled in Los Angeles in 1983 and began her acting career.

Featured in three films directed by Alex Cox: Repo Man (1984), Straight to Hell (1987), and Repo Chick (2009).

Appeared in back-to-back films starring Anthony Michael Hall: Une créature de rêve (1985) and Passeport pour une nuit blanche (1986).

Writer-director John Hughes cast Balgobin in Une créature de rêve (1985) after seeing her in Repo Man (1984), in which she played a similarly tough, punkish character.
