Stephen Anderson is a director, writer and storyboard artist with over 30 years of experience in the animation industry. At Walt Disney Animation Studios, he was a story artist on 'Tarzan' (1999) and story supervisor on 'The Emperor's New Groove' (2000) and 'Brother Bear' (2003). As a director, he has helmed the feature films 'Meet the Robinsons' (2007) and 'Winnie the Pooh' (2011), followed by a role as supervising director at Walt Disney Television Animation on the first season of 'Monsters at Work' (2021), which debuted on Disney+.
Over a period of approximately ten years, Stephen was an instructor at the California Institute of the Arts, teaching story development to both sophomores as well as juniors and seniors. He has lectured on storyboarding and the creative process at San Jose State, Loyola Marymount University, Penn State, Santa Barbara Community College, The California Arts Project and Sheldon High School in Sacramento, California.
After leaving the Walt Disney Company in 2021, Stephen served as animation director for the Max series 'Young Love' (2023) and a storyboard artist on 'The Garfield Movie' (2024) and 'Disney Junior's Ariel' (2025).
