Disney / Pixar will be releasing the new “Toy Story 5” film on June 19, 2026.
Now we know who the villain of the next film will be, a Leap Pad adjacent character called Lillypad.
For those that don’t remember the Leap Pad debuted in 1999 but gained popularity in the early 2000s.
Made by Leap Frog, whose logo is a frog, the early Leap Pads were green. My son had one when he was little and that is why my mind went to the Leap Pad when I saw the Lillypad.
Technology is the big bad in Toy Story 5.
According to a presentation at Annecy and International animation festival, Pixar Cco Pete Docter gave a look at the new film and said that the plot will be toys meeting tech.
Bonnie Anderson will once again be the child of the film. She is now 8 years old and uses a tablet called Lillypad.

Pixar has offered an exclusive look at Toy Story 5, while also confirming the return of a franchise veteran. The sequel, written and directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by McKenna Harris and produced by Jessica Choi, is set to reopen the toy box next summer, with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprising their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively. Joining the duo is Jessie, voiced once again by Joan Cusack, but together they will have to confront a new electronic enemy who reportedly goes by the name of LilyPad.

Pixar has since shared online a piece of concept art from the fifth installment in its flagship franchise (alongside an image from the new original film Hoppers). Earlier today, at the Annecy Animation Festival in France, Pete Docter, Chief Creative Officer at Pixar, took the stage to showcase what’s coming from Pixar. One of the projects he focused on was Toy Story 5— which arrives on June 19, 2026. While we previously knew the sequel, which is helmed by Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris, would feature our favorite toys grappling with the rise of technology, Docter revealed new details and even showed off the opening scene of the movie!
The big news is that Bonnie Anderson is now eight years old and is more interested in an electronic lily pad (featured in the image below) that her parents bought her rather than playing with Bo and the other toys. As Docter said during the panel:
“Toy Story 5, it's toy meets tech. If you remember from Toy Story 4, Woody has left the kids for a life of...

Toy Story is somewhat of a frustrating franchise for many fans purely because Toy Story 3 seemingly served as the perfect ending to the series that catapulted Pixar and took animated films into a brave new world. Despite the satisfying and emotional closure of the third movie, Disney would still give audiences the chance to revisit the toys in a small fashion with shorts that continued to show what our plastic friends were up to. Then, Toy Story 4 would be released. It would gain critical and audience acclaim. However, it meant saying an emotional goodbye yet again.
That won’t stop Disney from releasing a fifth film in the series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new look at Toy Story 5 was shown at the recent Annecy International Animation Festival. During their panel, Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter revealed some behind-the-scenes clips with scenes that confirm Tom...

Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, is showing some brand new thrillers directed by women that you will Not have seen playing anywhere else.
High on my list of stuff to see at Female Eye is Stacie Ponder's Ludlow, which stars Viscera founder Shannon Lark, and which I watched being edited. It's screening on March 18th and is guaranteed to scare the shit out of you.
Check out the other movies, some of which are making their world premieres. I'm suprised that they shied away from using the word "horror" to describe some of these movies; drama and thriller and suspense seem to be far less offensive terms to the mainstream movie-going public. Thank God we're not the mainstream movie-going public, eh?
Schedule you need to know!!!!:
