Fulham 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur – Match Report
It’s often said that the best teams can play poorly and still come away with three points. That’s a cliché of course but it proved relevant today as Tottenham came away with a 3-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, despite their opponents having the better of the game. Two own goals, one from Chris Baird, the other from Younes Kaboul,a fine effort from Aaron Lennon and a Jermain Defoe goal ultimately decided the day. A good win for Spurs, but Fulham can count themselves very unfortunate indeed.

So Martin Jol against his former club. The Dutchman did a good job at White Hart Lane, but Daniel Levy decided he’d see if Juande Ramos could do a better job without the courtesy of sacking Jol first. He learned his lesson though when Ramos’ reign was ultimately short-lived and a tad topsy turvy. Tottenham have been walking...

Bolton Wanderers 1 – 5 Chelsea – Match Report
Chelsea reminded everyone that there are three teams in the title chase as they demolished Bolton Wanderers 5-1 at the Reebok Stadium. A hat trick from Frank Lampard and a brace from Daniel Sturridge helped them to victory, and they matched the convincing scoreline with some magnificent football. Yet another loss for Bolton though, who got a goal back in the first minute of the second half through Dedryck Boyata but couldn’t come close to overcoming Andre Villas-Boas’ rampant Blues.

Chelsea’s record against Bolton is nothing short of brilliant. The Blues hadn’t lost in the last 15 games between the two, and had won the last six. In addition to this the Trotters have had a terrible start to the campaign; they started the day with the worst defensive record in the league, conceding 16 goals in just 6 games. They had also won just one game – their opener against Qpr,...

Stoke vs. Manchester United – Match Preview
Date: Saturday 24 September 2011

Kick off: 17:30 BST

Location: Britannia Stadium

Competition: Barclays Premier League

Referee: Peter Walton

Live on Espn

In-form Manchester United travel to Stoke City this afternoon in a early evening Premier League clash. The Red Devils have visited Stoke three times already in the Premier League and won all three. Ferguson’s men will be coming to the Britannia off a 3-1 victory over rivals Chelsea thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Nani and a 3-0 beating of Leeds United in the Carling Cup third round which was played on Tuesday night. Currently top of the league and will be hoping for another three points tomorrow to keep up their 100% start to their current 2011-2012 campaign.

But it won’t be easy for United as Stoke is a hard place to go to. Tony Pulis’ side played their Europa League group match last...

Match Report: Newcastle United 0 – 0 Arsenal – Joey Barton Against The World
The half-hearted football and frustrating lack of entertainment on show at St. James Park in the no scoring first live televised match of the 20th Premier League season was overshadowed by a scuffle and a disgraceful display by Newcastle’s Joey Barton which led to the sending off of Arsenal’s biggest summer signing.

Arsene Wenger had included Ivorian forward Gervinho – his £10.5 million acquisition from Lille Osc in a starting line up that was missing Barcelona bound Cesc Febregas and Samir Nasri, the latter who is rumoured to be completing a big money transfer himself this week to Manchester City, and also the unfit Jack Wilshire. But it will be a debut to forget for Arsenal’s new big hope, sent off on his otherwise impressive Premiership debut for slapping Barton in the face seemingly with the power of a sledgehammer.

The viscous fracas broke out in the 75th minute...
