Biography

    • Manuel Altolaguirre was a poet of the so-called Generación del 27, wrote several books from 1926 to 1955, and was also a renown printer in Spain, before and during the civil war, and later, in exile, in Cuba and Mexico. Poetry books of authors like Luis Cernuda, Rafael Alberti, Vicente Aleixandre or his friends and partners Emilio Prados and José María Hinojosa, where printed at the Imprenta Sur, in Málaga, where they also released an avant-garde magazine: Litoral. Previous to it he had already released Ambos, and would later print in Madrid, with Concha Méndez, his wife and also poet, the magazine Héroe. In La Habana they would also keep printing and releasing poetical magazines, and also in México, until he began to be more interested about filmmaking
