Mike Altmann

Born in Berlin in January 1937, Mike was snatched to safety in late 1938 and spent WW2 in England. During his teens, it was discovered he possessed certain odd clairvoyant powers, which he was advised to conceal or be taken for a crank. Throughout his life, therefore, he has scrupulously contrived to be seen as engaging in practical (rather than psychic/spiritual) matters.

The holder of four degrees (including a treasured MBA from Harvard Business School), Mike has had military experience, once taught for an American university and was subsequently employed as an Assistant Vice President by an American commercial bank. There, he made a thoroughly disastrous but hugely enjoyable foray into the financing of feature film production (and the bank no longer exists). As from the early 1980s, he began taking small parts in movies, but then eventually gravitated to the teaching of yoga, abandoning almost everything else. More recently, he has returned to the cinema world, has tried his hand at production and has been fortunate enough to land minor supporting roles in several features. He particularly relishes the opportunity to express himself on screen in any of six foreign languages.
