  • She also hid leaders of the French Resistance during World War II.
  • After appearing mainly in supporting roles during the 1930s she starred in a number of films during the 1940s.
  • During the Occupation, she was the mistress of Bernhardt Rademecker, nephew of Goebbels , who became responsible for Parisian theatres and the Propagandastaffel. She had met him before the war when he was a jazz trumpeter in Pigalle. He would protect Jewish artists such as the actor Henry Murray, father of Anouk Aimée .
  • Michèle Alfa was one of the most adored stars of the Occupation. Attending a performance of Henri Bernstein 's "Félix" at the 'Théâtre du Gymnase' in Paris at the age of fifteen, played by the very popular Gaby Morlay, she had the revelation of her vocation as an actress.
  • In an attempt to revive her career, on December 22, 1963, she took part in a RTF television show "From Dream to Reality" during which she welcomed Monika, a child from Public Assistance, who dreamed of having a family for Christmas. For a few days, Michèle Alfa played the role of mother in front of the cameras, but as soon as the holidays were over, the young girl returned to boarding school and she would never hear from her and RTF again.
  • After a suicide attempt, because she was refused permission to enter the Conservatoire, she finally followed Raymond Rouleau 's courses and at the age of twenty, she began a theatre tour in France in: L'Héritière , a French adaptation by Louis Ducreux based on Henry James.

  • In 1968, like Mireille Balin, she accepted help from the association La roue tourne ( = an association whose social purpose is to support, financially and materially help artists who have fallen into need or who have retired), run by Paul Azaïs and Janalla Jarnach , which helped artists and actors in difficulty.
  • During the German occupation of France she became the lover of a German propaganda officer stationed in Paris. She used her influence to secure the release of fellow actor Charles de Rochefort from an internment camp.
