Peggy was born in the Muswell Hill area of London and educated at Woodford Bridge School in Croydon where Peggy Ashcroft and Diana Wynyard were fellow pupils. On leaving school she worked on a womans magazine and taught speech and drama until at 30 when she approached Croydon Repertory Theatre and asked to work back stage and was taken on as an ASM then given small parts before moving on to work in rep in various parts of the country until offered Hadrian VII at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre which transferred to The Mermaid Theatre in London and then to The Haymarket and films including Twinky with Trevor Howard, She was probably best remembered for being in the Midlands daily tv serial of Crossroads which she joined in 1967 and stayed for 9 months then returned in 1970, She was unmarried
