Horror legend Tony Todd sadly passed away last November after a long illness, and Final Destination: Bloodlines features the actor's final performance.

2024 might be the year of the film adaptation. While the year has seen numerous highs and lows, adaptations seem to be at the heart of the 2024 release calendar. While children's films sequels such as Moana 2 and Inside Out 2 have dominated the box office, so too have adaptations like It Ends With Us and Wicked. The abundance of adaptations over original content is often a criticism of the state of Hollywood right now, but the 2024 box office has shown that these films still do well commercially.
This year has also seen a number of comic book adaptations. Most notably, this includes Deadpool & Wolverine, a Marvel Comics adaptation that features the now-canonized titular MCU characters. Not all comic adaptations are created equally, however, as this year's Madame Web bombed at the box office and among critics. James O'Barr's The Crow is getting a new adaptation with a new feature film hitting theaters this summer. To modernize the story, Bill Skarsgrd's Eric was given a look that's more reminiscent of today's rap stars, marking a departure from how Eric Draven appears in the original comic.
In an issue of Empire Magazine (per /Film), Skarsgrd addressed his look in the film. He said he believed he was too fit at the time of filming for that role, feeling that the Eric character shouldn't have been quite so ripped. Skarsgrd suggested that, realistically, Eric should be a lot thinner --- at least before his resurrection as a vengeance-seeking vigilante raised from the dead.

Bill Skarsgård has established himself in Hollywood by playing sinister characters, but he'll take a crack at the anti-hero when The Crow is released later this summer.
The first images and trailer for the movie received a mixed-to-negative response from fans of the classic 1994 movie. Most of that boiled down to Skarsgård's Eric looking more like Jared Leto's Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad than Brandon Lee's iconic interpretation of the comic book character.
However, this isn't a remake, it's a reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O'Barr. And, while the character's appearance has split opinions, the R-Rated action looks undeniably badass.
Talking to Esquire (via FearHQ.com), the actor admits to being unsure about taking on The Crow's title role. "There's definitely worry about that," he says of fan expectations. "I'm trying to view the fame aspect as a challenge and navigate through it in...

Based on the report, the reboot is being set up as a potential franchise, allowing Skarsgrd to reprise his role in the future if successful. The very idea of a new version of The Crow sparked plenty of outrage online, with fans of the Brandon Lee original saying no one could possibly replace him. Things only got worse when images of Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven dropped, prompting negative responses from fans and even the original’s director, Alex Proyas. As we await The Crow’s August release, Skarsgård himself has his own thoughts on the movie…and they’re not exactly positive, either.
In a new profile in Esquire, Bill Skarsgård said that the ending of The Crow is far from satisfying, declaring, “I personally preferred something more definitive.” This would suggest that Rupert Sanders’ movie teases something more open-ended, quite possibly attempting to set up a sequel to fully reboot the franchise. Did Sanders not see the other Crow movies…?

You know what big fans of physical media we are here at JoBlo so we’ve been highly anticipating this release. And we also Looooove The Crow. We’ve covered it on our JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube Channel and have even taken a look at its terrible sequels. Heck, I’m not sure about you guys but The Crow was one of those films I always loved to talk about on the old JoBlo forums. I wonder what they’d be saying about the new film?
And shoutout to those that were able to snag the very cool Steelbook that went quickly out of print. It’s easily one of the coolest Steelbooks out there and features an absolutely beautiful design.

Blumhouse executive Jason Blum remains committed to the 2025 release date for the Spawn reboot despite ongoing setbacks and delays. The history of Spawn's troubled development mirrors that of other '90s comic book movie reboots, including The Crow. The anticipated release of Spawn in 2025 could pave the way for a revival of independent comic book movies in a landscape dominated by major labels.
Despite a series of ongoing setbacks, Blumhouse executive Jason Blum has doubled down on the planned 2025 release date for the Spawn reboot starring Jamie Foxx. Based on the supernatural comic book hero created by Todd McFarlane, plans for either a sequel or a big-screen reboot of the property have been languishing in development since the original 1997 movie adaptation with Michael Jai White. In 2017, Blumhouse Productions announced they would be partnering with McFarlane on the Foxx-led reboot; however, the project would go on to repeatedly miss...

The producer of The Crow reboot, Sam Pressman, believes that the movie has the potential to expand into a franchise with additional media like video games and an animated series. Pressman describes The Crow as an "anti-Marvel film," suggesting that it offers a unique and different experience compared to the superhero movies associated with Marvel. The success of the upcoming reboot will determine whether The Crow can continue to expand beyond 2024, as there have been concerns and backlash regarding the reboot's potential disrespect towards the original actor, Brandon Lee.

The Crow reboot has experienced a complicated production process with multiple changes in directors, writers, and actors throughout the years. Producer Sam Pressman believes the reboot will be impressive and has plans to expand it into a shared universe through video games or an animated series. The reboot stars Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven/The Crow and FKA Twigs as his murdered fiancée, with a release date set for 2024.
The Crow reboot is "going to blow people away" and could spawn a shared universe, teases producer Sam Pressman. Zahn McClarnon has justifiably garnered attention in recent years for his lead performance as Joe Leaphorn in AMC’s limited series Dark Winds. Leaphorn, a lieutenant in the Tribal Police in the Navajo Nation of Arizona, is suddenly besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes within his community. As he gets closer to the truth of these cases, his own beliefs are challenged, bonds between colleagues are tested, and Joe has to dig up some painful memories from his own past.
Yet before McClarnon donned Joe’s badge and cowboy hat, he wore many other hats over his nearly 45 year career. The actor has a fairly prolific filmography as a voice over artist, he has played men on both sides of the law, and as you can imagine, as an actor of Lakota descent, has played his share of First Nations characters. Yet, when his more recent roles are carefully considered,...

It is not a plan if it doesn't hit some snags.
The hunters are captured by someone who has been watching them for a while, leading to an even bigger team. Two not-so-sweet reunions happen on Hunters Season 2 Episode 3.
Jonah meets his grandmother's sister, who is also a hunter, and they collide due to the similarities in their personalities.
The now bigger team continues their hunt for Hitler while Hitler decides to get them before they get him.
Clara finds her way to Argentina because Jonah has some questions to answer.
Remember the mysterious lady in white who opened the episode on Hunters Season 2, Episode 1, and gouged the eyes out of a Nazi in Austria?
Well, we met Chava, hunter extraordinaire, Ruth's sister and Jonah's grandaunt.
Chava: I know she lives in you.
Jonah: Who?
Chava: Ruth.
Jonah: You ... didn't know my safta
Chava: Ruth was my sister.
Jonah: Ruth's sister died in the camps.

The Crow reboot is now set to star Bill Skarsgård in the titular lead role, but there have been several actors almost cast as Eric Draven/The Crow over the years. The Crow has been in development since 2008, but it took almost 14 years to finally get underway. The comic book series The Crow is finally getting a second theatrical film adaptation in the form of the aptly-titled feature The Crow. Directed by Snow White & The Huntsman helmer Rupert Sanders, Bill Skarsgard is taking on the role of Eric Draven/The Crow while FKA Twigs and Danny Huston will play prominent roles in the feature. The second adaptation of this character (not counting a bevy of direct-to-video titles) following the 1994 feature starring Brandon Lee, The Crow has had a much more arduous and lengthy road to the screen than many other superhero films. For many titles in this subgenre, it seems like you can just announce a release date and the movie shows up there like clockwork. Not so with The Crow.
