Vikram, Awara Paagal Deewana was fun to shoot. Was it as much fun to shoot?

Awara Paagal Deewana was a party that just can’t be repeated. We did have a great time shooting it but it was also a very tough shoot. We went to quite a few places: New York, Spain and then Oman for the climax. Firozbhai had an action comedy in mind and he want out of his way to produce it. Leaving no stone unturned. But Apd was also Neeraj Vora who is not with us anymore. All the memes on Apd that float around to this day are his genius.

Setters was indeed a very interesting and a special film. I remember getting a call from Jogiji, who was the casting director. He called me one day and he said that, if you’re free, Ashwini Choudharyji would like to meet you. So I went across to the office, and I met Ashwini ji along with the producer. And he narrated the idea of Setters to me, which was, he said, a two-hero film. One is a cop, and the other is a setter, an examination setter. And it’s basically a cat-and-mouse game between the both of them. Because this deals with the education mafia in the country.

What we see is not what we get. Not quite. There are invisible layers of deception in the espionage drama as we are taken into a backstory to find out what made the Raw agent Himmat Singh what he is. It’s a stroke of luck for Himmat Singh that he is played by the ever-reliable K K Menon.
