John Adames

John Adames in an American actor born in 1972 and best remembered for cinema lovers as the young kid rescued by Gena Rowlands in John Cassavetes' film Gloria (1980). As Phil Dawn, Adames is protected by the title character who tries to save him from the mobsters who killed his parents and the duo has on their hands a book that the gangsters want and are willing to kill for it. His performance is a matter of debate, some say it was good and others claimed that it was bad. As final result, Adames won a Razzie Awards as Worst Supporting Actor (tied with Laurence Olivier for The Jazz Singer) and a nomination on the same category for The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards. After the movie, he quit the movie industry and later in the early 2000's he became a manager of Soho Billiards in New York City, the city he was born and lived most of his life.
