Michele Abruzzo (Sciacca, December 29, 1904 - Catania, November 18, 1996) was an Italian actor. Multifaceted actor made his debut at age 14 in the great Giovanni Grasso company. After the death of Angelo Musco (1938) forms with Rosina Anselmi a great company that runs the most prestigious theaters of the peninsula. Natural heir of the same Musco, replicating the original repertoire (for example 'Liolà' by Luigi Pirandello) and enriches it with new works several authors write especially for him. It is best appreciated from the national critics (one for all, the great Renato Simoni) for his performances both brilliant appalling that place it among the best actors and expressive of the Italian panorama of those years. Become a Knight Grand Cross of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, highest honor bestowed by the Presidency of the Republic for its artistic merits, and withdraws a number of awards such as the "Telamon" and "Pirandello." In the 50 breaks the association with Anselmi and form his own company. In 1952 he co-founded - together with Turi Ferro, who was his pupil, Umberto Spadaro, Rosolino Bua and Rosina Anselmi - Ente Teatro of Sicilia, then Teatro Stabile of Catania. After making his debut very young in the silent film "A Law" directed by Elvira Notari (1920), he made his debut in sound films as the protagonist of the film by Mario Mattioli "He did a Lady" (1938), next to Rosina Anselmi. Subsequently, until the seventies, he covers the movies almost always roles alongside or character. In 1984 he plays the role of the Public Prosecutor in the drama of Damiano Damiani, "The Octopus".
