In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Gilmore Girls this October, a new documentary, Searching For Stars Hollow, is in the works with stars Kelly Bishop, Jared Padalecki and Chad Michael Murray, among others.

Searching For Stars Hollow, from Ink On Paper Studios, is set to examine “the beloved show’s role in American cultural history,” per a press release, as well as include never-before-seen interviews with castmembers and behind-the-scenes stories from crewmembers, writers and directors.

For “Nobody Wants This” creator/executive producer Erin Foster, when it came time to figure out where to shoot her Netflix comedy “Nobody Wants This,” she had some leverage in her back pocket: Star Kristen Bell.

“Shooting in L.A. is hard and really expensive,” Foster told the audience on Thursday at Variety’s A Night in the Writers Room event. “We were only able to shoot in L.A. because Kristen Bell has kids here that are in school here. And she’s like, ‘I won’t shoot anywhere else.’”

Foster said Netflix and 20th TV, which is behind “Nobody Wants This,” quickly agreed. “They’re like, ‘well, then we’re shooting where you want to shoot,’” she told the A Night in the Writers’ Room audience. “We got very lucky that she wants to be home with her kids. She wants to come to work, she wants to live in LA.

“I wasn’t surprised. We deserved it,” declared Jean Smart of Hacks‘ unexpected — to most — win for best comedy series at last year’s Emmys as the show’s cast and creatives gathered at PaleyFest LA on Friday.

Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Megan Stalter and Rose Abdoo joined co-creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre to unveil the hit show’s upcoming fourth season, while also reflecting on that big Emmy moment for season three.

The series picks up almost immediately where it left off, with Deborah Vance (Smart) landing the late-night show of her dreams and comedy writer Ava (Einbinder) having just blackmailed her for the head writer job, after Vance previously promised the role and took it away.

That's how Jean Smart described her reaction to Hacks winning Best Comedy Series at last year's Emmy Awards. She recounted her feelings Friday night at PaleyFest while surrounded by fellow cast members Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, and Megan Stalter, plus showrunners-writers-directors-producers Jen Statsky, Lucia Aniello, and Paul W. Downs (who also stars). Variety's Michael Schneider moderated the Q&a panel, which took place after the world premiere screening of the first two episodes of Season 4.

Downs recalled being "shocked" when Hacks won the major trophy, and Aniello agreed, saying, "Very few times in your life a shocking thing can happen and it's good. So, at a very base human level, it was really cool to have that experience in your body."

Hacks is back — and earlier than ever before. Season 4 of the Emmy-winning comedy will premiere with two episodes on April 10 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, Max announced Tuesday, along with a trailer.

The rest of the 10-episode season will roll out with a single episode on Thursdays for four weeks, then Episodes 7 and 8 on May 15, Episode 9 on May 22, and the season finale on May 29 — right before the May 31 Emmy eligibility deadline. That's a tweak from previous seasons when the show would debut in May and air double episodes every week.

In order to make the full season Emmy-eligible, Hacks will have a somewhat odd release schedule: Two episodes will stream on April 10, followed by one a week for four weeks afterward. “Hacks” Season 4 is picking up right where Season 3 left off: with Deborah and Ava on the edge of war. The latest installment of the Emmy-winning Max original comedy will premiere with its first two episodes on April 10.

“Well aren’t you a big, brave girl,” Deborah (Jean Smart) menacingly says in the new trailer out Tuesday, rounding on her prodigy.

The clip then cuts between several high-energy scenes, from Deborah dancing in a club to both Deborah and Ava driving literal race cars. Kaitlin Olson’s very pregnant DJ can even be seen briefly weightlifting.
