Joe Abeywickrama was born on 13 June 1933 in Lellopitiya, Ceylon [now Sri Lanka]. He was an actor and writer, known for Pura Handa Kaluwara (1997), Welikathara (1971) and Sorungeth Soru (1967). He died on 21 September 2011 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
