Per Aabel in Ombyte förnöjer (1939)
Norwegian actor, son of Hauk Aabel. Growing up in the world of theatre and films, Per Aabel was groomed for a life in the arts. He studied ballet in London and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. He followed this with training with the great theatre director Max Reinhardt in Vienna. His stage debut was in 1931 and he spent a number of years as a principal actor and teacher with major theatre companies in Oslo. He did not appear in films for nearly a decade after that, and his cinematic output was not large. He prospered in the Norwegian theatre and became one of its most respected comic actors.
