Opera singer

Romantically involved with a young Polish model and photographer Patrycja Woy-Wojciechowska (b. 1975). They met orginally in 1993, at Carreras' concert in Poland, and have been together since 1997.

After surviving leukemia, he founded the Josep Carreras Leukemia Foundation, a charity which gives financial support to leukemia research (1988).

Member of the famous Three Tenors together with Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti in the 1990s.

Studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu.

Was the subject of a running joke on the Seinfeld (1989) episode The Doll (1996) where the characters can only remember the names of his colleagues, Domingo and Pavarotti, but because Carreras' name escapes them, they refer to him as "the other guy".
