Shukhrat Abbasov is a Soviet and Uzbek film director, screenwriter, film actor, teacher. People's Artist of the USSR. In 1949 he graduated from the Tashkent Medical College, in 1954 - the directing department of the Tashkent State Institute of Theater Arts named after Aleksandr Ostrovskiy, in 1958 - Higher directing courses at Mosfilm. In 1954-1956 - chief director of the Tashkent Regional Music and Drama Theater. From 1958 to 1991 - director of the Uzbekfilm film studio, in 1982-1986 - its director. In 1996-2001 - first deputy chairman of the board of the Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan.
