- Contrary to erroneous rumors about salary negotiations, Erin's departure from L Word (2004) was purely a creative decision from the show's creators, in particular Ilene Chaiken and Rose Lam. The creators wanted to tell an impacting story about death from cancer, and believed that Erin's immensely popular character - tennis player Dana Fairbanks - was well-liked enough to send a very strong message about mortality. The decision to kill Dana was met with great opposition from cast members and Erin herself. To this day, this remains the show's most controversial storyline.
- L Word (2004) co-star Jennifer Beals used to consult Erin for advice on doing some of the show's comedic scenes.
- Speaks French fluently, and spends a lot of her time outside work in France.
- Watched the first four seasons of Buffy contre les vampires (1997) with best friend and cast mate Leisha Hailey while filming the second season of L Word (2004). In turn, Leisha made Erin watch Génération 90 (1994) with her.
- Tried out for 'Bette' and 'Alice' before landing the role of 'Dana' on L Word (2004).
- "No, Not even remotely...Because I don't care. I don't pick roles based on how famous they are going to make me, I pick roles based on how they're going to inspire me intellectually." On being asked whether or not she was worried how playing a lesbian (on Showtime series, "The L Word") would reflect on her ability to get future acting roles.
- "Everyone goes through their 20s trying to figure out who they are. Sexuality included. Whether you're gay or straight or wherever you fall on the Kinsey scale." On why "The L Word" is a hit show.
