Deadpool And Wolverine's Dafne Keen Says She "Hopes" To Return As X-23 For Avengers: Doomsday
Image
We didn't expect to see Dafne Keen as Laura, aka X-23, again following her acclaimed turn in James Mangold's Logan, but the His Dark Materials star was given the opportunity to reprise the role in Shawn Levy's Deadpool and Wolverine as part of a Void Resistance team alongside Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and the late Johnny Storm (Chris Evans).

Laura appears again in the closing moments of the movie, having reunited with Logan and the Merc With a Mouth, leaving the door open for her eventual return.

We have heard rumors that X-23 will be back for Avengers: Doomsday (along with pretty...

Avengers: Doomsday – Zoë Kravitz’s Marvel Character Meets the Same Fate as Harry Styles
Image
Avengers: Doomsday had the chance to bring back the rumored couple Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles, but alas, both their characters are slated to meet a similar fate. According to reports, characters from Eternals are not part of the plans for the MCU’s future (via The Cosmic Circus), and the team won’t appear to fight Doctor Doom.

As a result, Styles, who debuted as Starfox in the post-credits scene of the Chloe Zhao-directed movie, is not expected to reprise his role in future projects such as Doomsday. Similarly, Kravitz, who played a mutant, wasn’t called back for the movie despite Doomsday bringing back several Fox-era X-Men characters.

Don't panic too much about that. The same thing happened with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, two of the McU's biggest critical and commercial hits.

"I Don't Know Who I Was Acting With Half The Time": Alan Cumming Opens Up On Avengers: Doomsday Challenges
Image
Like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame before it, Avengers: Doomsday is a highly secretive production. With so many actors needed on set, the Russo Brothers are likely facing some unique challenges, though that's nothing new to them.

With Avengers: Infinity War, for example, Benedict Cumberbatch's busy schedule meant he wasn't with his co-stars a lot of the time. A double shot many of his scenes, with Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange later inserted into those. Several other actors in the same sequences never even met, and moviegoers were none the wiser.

Something similar is happening with Avengers: Doomsday, and X2: X-Men United star Alan Cumming revealed some of the unique...

Rumor: New Details On Doctor Doom's Mission In Avengers: Doomsday Revealed - Possible Spoilers
Image
Avengers: Doomsday is currently shooting in the UK, and had it still been scheduled for a May 2026 release, chances are we'd have seen a teaser playing in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash this December.

That wasn't meant to be, unfortunately, and the closest thing to a first look we've had remains the post-credits scenes for Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Now, though, we may have some intel on what Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is up to in Avengers: Doomsday.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, "In Avengers Doomsday, Doom is after people [who] caused Incursions to the Multiverse." This might explain recent rumblings about Chris Evans' Steve Rogers being targeted by Victor Von Doom after Cap's happy ending in Avengers: Endgame.

Now, is Doom looking to punish them, or could their deaths be part of his plan to "save" the Multiverse? Fans have long questioned how...

Image
Part of Marvel Studios' deal with Sony Pictures to co-produce Spider-Man movies involves characters from the MCU teaming up with the web-slinger. Why? Well, it boosts interest and increases ticket sales, hence Robert Downey Jr.'s $10 million payday for 8 minutes of screentime in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Later, Spider-Man: Far From Home enlisted Nick Fury and Maria Hill, with Spider-Man: No Way Home putting the spotlight on Doctor Strange, and to a lesser extent, Wong and Matt Murdock.

In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as The Hulk for a team-up (and potential clash) with Peter Parker. The Cosmic Circus has shared a few insights today, including the fact that there are currently no plans for Bruce Banner to encounter Red Hulk and The Leader, both of whom are locked up inside The Raft.

Alan Cumming Calls Nightcrawler Return In Avengers: Doomsday “Really Healing”
Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming says returning to play Nightcrawler in Avengers: Doomsday was “really healing,” contrasting the experience with what he has previously described as a difficult shoot on X2 two decades ago. Speaking onstage last week and in a follow-up interview, the 60-year-old actor said he recently wrapped his scenes and appreciated a friendlier set and a streamlined makeup process that no longer requires the hours he endured in 2003. He added that scheduling around his hosting duties for The Traitors meant his work on the film was brief but satisfying.

Cumming’s return is part of Marvel’s strategy to weave legacy mutants into its next ensemble film, with fellow Fox-era alumni Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn and Kelsey Grammer also attached. The studio teased that roster in a widely viewed cast reveal earlier this year. He’s described enjoying stunt work again and revisiting Nightcrawler’s athletic,...

Alan Cumming Talks “Really Healing” Experience Reprising Nightcrawler in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ After ‘X2’
Image
Alan Cumming is opening up about how playing Nightcrawler in Avengers: Doomsday was actually “really healing” after his “terrible experience” in 2003’s X2: X-Men United.

The actor recently told People at the Televerse 2025 conference that he “just finished” filming the Russo brothers’ highly anticipated Doomsday film, which is set to hit theaters in May 2026.

“I just came back. It was amazing. It was actually really… in a sort of ooey, gooey way, it was really healing and really nice to go back to something that was a terrible experience when I did it the first time,” Cumming said. “A great film, great film. I love the film.”

The Traitors host has previously been open about why it was so “miserable” to make the 2003 X-Men sequel, including the challenges of spending “like four and a half to five hours” in makeup each day to transform into the blue-skinned mutant, as well...

Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
Alan Cumming had “amazing” Nightcrawler return in Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
The MCU’s Avengers: Doomsday has an entire universe of expectations to it. And one group we will be keeping a close eye on is the X-Men. For the much-anticipated Phase Six entry, we’re looking at some serious names reprising their early Marvel roles: Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Xavier, Ian McClellan as Magento, James Marsden as Gambit, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler (and let’s not forget Channing Tatum as Gambit…). Marvel as we know it has completely transformed since those earlier days of most of the aforementioned actors, and that’s something Cumming in particular is grateful for.

Alan Cumming recently spoke to People about returning as Nightcrawler even though he had a dreadful experience making 2003’s X2. “I just came back. It was amazing. It was actually really…in a sort of ooey, gooey way, it was really healing and...

Alan Cumming Loved Filming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ After ‘Terrible Experience’ on ‘X2’: ‘It Was Really Healing’
Image
Alan Cumming is back for “Avengers: Doomsday,” revising his role as the blue-skinned, sword-wielding, teleporting Nightcrawler. While Cumming famously didn’t love his time on “X2”. In “X2,” Kurt additionally covers his body in tattoos to mark his sins. This meant long hours in the makeup chair for Cumming. This process has since been significantly cut down — perhaps adding to Cumming’s renewed energy for the upcoming “Avengers” production.

Cumming won’t be the only actor from the ruins of Fox’s “X-Men” franchise coming back for “Avengers: Doomsday.” Joining the actor in the Russo brothers team-up film (featuring Robert Downey Jr. as the villainous Doctor Doom) are James Marsden (Cyclops), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique). This sprawling cast was announced as part of a livestream where Marvel Studios revealed director chairs with the actors’ names. Channing Tatum’s Gambit will also appear in the film,...

The Fantastic Four Star Vanessa Kirby Says Sue Storm's [Spoiler] Will Factor Into Avengers: Doomsday

In The Fantastic Four: First Steps' final act, Sue Storm showed why she's frequently named the most powerful member of Marvel's First Family when she pushed Galactus into the teleporter that sent him millions of light-years away from Earth.

However, in pushing her powers to the limit, the Invisible Woman sacrificed her life to save not just her son, but the entire planet. It was a huge moment for the character, and one that will seemingly be addressed in Avengers: Doomsday.

MovieWeb recently caught up with Vanessa Kirby to discuss her new Netflix movie, Night Always Comes, and the actor explained how Sue's death is informing her approach to Sue in the next Avengers movie.

"I've been thinking a lot doing Avengers and stuff about how someone that's been through, in the space of basically a week, someone who has given birth and has died and come back to life,...

Alan Cumming On "Healing" Avengers: Doomsday Return After "Miserable" X-men 2 Experience
Image
Alan Cumming has revealed that he has now finished filming his scenes as Nightcrawler for Avengers: Doomsday, and it sounds like the Scottish actor had a much better time shooting the Marvel Studios movie than he did on X-Men 2.

Cumming made his one and only appearance in 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise as Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler, in X2, but declined the studio's offer to reprise the role for the third film because he had no interest in sitting through the lengthy makeup process again.

Cumming has previously spoken about how arduous he found the experience, and has now reiterated that, although he liked the movie itself, he had a "miserable" time shooting X-Men 2 during a new interview with People.com.

"I just came back. It was amazing. It was actually really... in a sort of ooey, gooey way, it was really healing and really nice to...

Alan Cumming was happy to get a do-over playing Nightcrawler in “Avengers: Doomsday”.

'Deadpool & Wolverine' Star's Forgotten Marvel Spin-Off Becomes a Sleeper Hit Overnight
Image
Before Jennifer Garner joined the MCU in Deadpool & Wolverine, she starred in her own comic book movie that dove deeper into her character. Elektra was released in 2005 and directed by The X-Files'Rob Bowman. While it was met with poor reviews by fans and critics, it has recently found new life and success on streaming.

Elektra sat #3 on Netflix's Top 10 Movies on August 12, 2025, worldwide, sandwiched between My Oxford Year and Stolen: Heist of the Century. During the film's theatrical run, it generated over $56 million at the box office. It also received a low critics' score of 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics citing unimpressive fight scenes and a dull story. But despite its low rating, it was nominated for Best Kiss at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. Garner also received a nomination for Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure/Thriller at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards.

Rumor: Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool Will Have His Own Team In Avengers: Doomsday
Image
While there are conflicting reports out there regarding Ryan Reynolds' return as Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday, it seems likely that he will suit up as the Merc with the Mouth again in both that and Avengers: Secret Wars.

With several members of the original X-Men cast confirmed for Doomsday, all signs point to us returning to Earth 10005. That's where Deadpool and Wolverine reside, and likely the parallel reality Monica Rambeau found herself stranded in at the end of The Marvels.

So, the stage is set for a clash between Earth 616's Mightiest Heroes and the X-Men (with the Fantastic Four thrown in for good measure), but how will Deadpool factor into that?

Reliable runtime leaker @Cryptic4KQual has chimed in with some possible inside intel, writing, "[Deadpool] has his own team now, and he's still probably going to fold into a bigger one. F*ck the Avengers."

The question now is,...

Commander Una-Chin Riley, said that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5's six-episode order was the result of negotiations between Paramount+ and executive producers Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers. Previously, Paramount+ wanted to do "just" a two-hour movie. See TrekCore's post below:

Rebecca Romijn notes that the six-episode 5th and final season of #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds came out of negotiation between series showrunners Henry Alonso Myers/Akiva Goldsman and the studio, who initially wanted to do "just" a...

Avengers: Doomsday: Conflicting Reports Emerge About Whether Ryan Reynolds Is Really Returning As Deadpool
Image
Yesterday evening, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Deadpool in next December's Avengers: Doomsday.

While a report from an outlet like this is typically taken as "official," nothing is truly confirmed until Marvel Studios or Disney chimes in. Now, conflicting reports about Reynolds' supposed return as the Merc with a Mouth have emerged.

According to Deadline, "Sources tell us that they haven’t seen Reynolds on set in London, and he isn’t set to appear in the next two Avengers movie."

Addressing the Deadpool & Wolverine star's cryptic Instagram post from earlier this week, the trade writes that Reynolds was "just having some fun," and that "a fan made it, Reynolds spotted it and was intrigued to post it."

The Wrap, however, counters that report with insights from its own insiders. They're reporting that "we haven’t seen the last of Deadpool, and will...

Deadpool is finally making his way into Avengers: Doomsday. The Hollywood Reporter first shared the news, and Ryan Reynolds added fuel to the fire when he posted an Avengers logo on social media covered in graffiti, something very much in Deadpool’s style.

According to Heat Vision, Deadpool will be part of the upcoming film, though fans shouldn’t expect him to officially join the Avengers team. Instead, he’ll appear in a different way that ties into the movie’s multiverse storylines.

Avengers: Doomsday is already set to bring back several famous mutants from Fox’s X-Men movies. Names like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum are all connected to the project.

But Deadpool’s place in the story won’t be alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Instead, rumors point...

It looks like Deadpool is finally crashing the Avengers’ party. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth will appear in Marvel’s upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.

The rumors started early Tuesday morning when Reynolds shared an Avengers logo on social media, only this one had been tagged with graffiti.

Fans immediately suspected Deadpool’s involvement, and now sources confirmed to Heat Vision that he will indeed be part of the film. However, he won’t exactly be joining the Avengers team in the traditional sense.

Ryan Reynolds’ MCU Future Amid Blake Lively Lawsuit: Is Deadpool Joining Avengers 5?
Image
Ryan Reynolds has just lobbed a verbal grenade into the Marvel fandom, without saying a word. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, he uploaded a cryptic image to his social media: the Avengers logo, but vandalized with red graffiti. Fans instantly recognized the defaced symbol; it mirrored the one used by The Void’s Resistance in Deadpool & Wolverine, only this time, spray-painted onto the most sacred crest in the MCU. Deadpool’s coming to the big leagues?

And now, the smoke has cleared. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds is confirmed to return as Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday. However, the report makes it explicitly clear:

Don’t expect him to actually be joining the Avengers team.

The timing is notable. Reynolds’ MCU tease comes as the media spotlight grows on his wife Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle.

Is Deadpool In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’? Ryan Reynolds’ Social Media Post Spurs Fan Frenzy
Image
Ryan Reynolds’ posted a Deadpool graffiti-ed Avengers logo on Instagram today, which started the rumor mill that the Merc with a Mouth would be in the Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday movie.

Sources tell us that they haven’t seen Reynolds on set in London, and he isn’t set to appear in the next two Avengers movie. Doomsday, which hits cinemas during the Christmas season 2026, is set to star a who’s who of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars/characters, not just from the new movies such as Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four: First Steps, but oldies from the 20th Century Fox/Marvel movies, i.e. Patrick Stewart aka Charles Xavier (didn’t he die in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?), Ian McKellen aka Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden aka Cyclops and Kelsey Grammer as Beast.

Ryan Reynolds Will Officially Return As Deadpool For Avengers: Doomsday - But Not As Part Of The Team!
Image
Earlier this week, Ryan Reynolds sent speculation into overdrive when he shared an Avengers logo that had been vandalized with graffiti, and we now have confirmation that Deadpool will indeed return to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday.

THR reports that Reynolds will reprise his role as the Merc With a Mouth for Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated event film, but he won't actually be suiting-up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

"Sources tell Heat Vision that yes, Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday."

So, what role will Wade Wilson play in the movie if he's not going to be part of the Avengers? Rumor has it that Doomsday will feature several different factions: Sam Wilson's Avengers, the New Avengers (formerly known as the Thunderbolts), The X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Team Loki, and Doctor Doom's villainous group.

Assuming Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is also set to return, the most logical team for this...

'Avengers: Doomsday' Is Bringing Back Everybody's Favorite Mutant
Image
Industry insiders have now confirmed that Ryan Reynolds will appear as Deadpool in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, ending months of online speculation and making his recent Instagram tease far more than just a clever troll. Late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, Reynolds posted a picture of the Avengers logo without comment, sparking a frenzy of fan theories. Up until now, his absence from the official cast announcement had puzzled many, especially considering the record-breaking $1.3 billion global haul for Deadpool & Wolverine.

While Marvel Studios has yet to issue an official statement, it's being reported this evening that Reynolds will indeed suit up again for the 2026 film, though the size of his role remains under wraps. This confirmation will be a relief to fans who feared Wade Wilson might be sidelined in the MCU after his most successful solo outing yet.

Avengers: Doomsday Rumors Point To On-Set Strife, Ego Clashes, And Robert Downey Jr. Demanding Reshoots
Image
Filming has been underway on Avengers: Doomsday in the UK since April, and while things have been fairly quiet over the past few weeks (the set photos ceased when shooting moved indoors), that doesn't mean everything is running smoothly behind-the-scenes.

During this week's episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider shared what he's been hearing about the Doomsday shoot, most notably in regard to star Robert Downey Jr. and what led to Marvel/Disney planning three weeks of reshoots.

According to Sneider, the original plan was to use a stand-in for a lot of Downey's scenes - until the actor decided that it simply wasn't working out.

"They had a body double and a face double, and Robert would stand outside the scene reading the lines. And apparently, after two or three weeks, he said, 'This isn't working. I want to shoot the whole thing with me in the suit.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Reshoot Rumor Explained: Rdj Couldn’t Stand a Body Double Playing Doom Wrong
Image
It was reported long ago that the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday was about to complete its filming in the UK, but the schedule may have been extended a little after the rumor of an unplanned reshoot popped up.

On The Hot Mic Podcast with John Rocha, industry insider Jeff Sneider claimed that he has heard reports of reshoots initiated by Robert Downey Jr. for his part in the upcoming film. Sneider said:

They had to reshoot for three weeks, they reshot three weeks worth of material, because appearantly, they had an actor standing in for Downey Jr. in the suit. They had a body double… And apparently after two or three weeks he was like, “This isn’t, working. I want to reshoot everything with me in the suit.”

These reshoots are reportedly being done due to the unsatisfactory performance his two body doubles have provided in Doctor Doom in his stead.

There are a lot of elements from the Marvel Cinematic Universe's upcoming titles that fans are excited for. From the return of Robert Downey Jr. as villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars to Krysten Ritter's comeback as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, there are a lot of thrilling events to look forward to. But it goes without saying that one thing at the top of the list is the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU.

The Multiverse Saga has featured nods and references to Marvel's Mightiest Mutants throughout its titles, but it has also featured cameos and returns - both of which made it clear that the X-Men were on their way. Rumor: Chris Evans' Surprising Role As Captain America In Avengers: Doomsday Has Been Revealed - Spoilers
Image
While there are plenty of Avengers: Doomsday rumours out there, we still know relatively little about what the Russo Brothers are plotting. We've been able to piece together Doctor Doom's plan to "save" the Multiverse and an Avengers vs. X-Men battle, but beyond that, the movie is a mystery to us.

Now, we may finally have a rough idea of Avengers: Doomsday's plot, thanks to scooper @MyTimeToShineH. The trades have confirmed that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers/Captain America, and his importance to this movie's story looks set to be much bigger than expected.

According to the insider, "When Steve went back in time to go live with Peggy, he created the Incursions, so now Doom wants him dead."

This does add up. In Avengers: Endgame, Steve returned the Infinity Stones to their rightful place on the Sacred Timeline. However, he also created an alternate...
