As Byron Allen’s “Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen” is set to tape more than 130 episodes ahead of its late night debut on CBS.

As TheWrap previously reported, “Comics Unleashed” will be taking over the 12:30 a.m. time slot from “After Midnight.” Allen plans on filming 132 episodes of the comedy talk show, which is produced under Allen’s Entertainment Studios banner.

The series, which is heading into its 20th season, will officially air at 12:37 a.m. Et on Sept. 22 with back-to-back half-hour episodes. Episodes of the comedy talk show will then air Monday through Friday, with the series also available to stream live on Paramount+ for subscribers that have Paramount+ with Showtime.

Comcast’s Versant has tapped Christian McLaughlin as its new senior vice president of live entertainment, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

In his new role, McLaughlin will oversee and collaborate closely with executive producers, showrunners, producers, writers and creative partners to build the live event business across the company’s entertainment portfolio.

He will report directly to Versant’s entertainment president Val Boreland.

McLaughlin, who has nearly three decades of experience in scripted and non-scripted television, joins Versant after co-founding Rabbit Hole Media in 2022.

Prior to that, he served as Comedy Central’s senior vice president of talent and development, where he led the New York development team and oversaw stand-up, specials and non-scripted series. He also held senior roles at Bravo as vice president of current series and VH1 vice president of development and production and produced comedy and talk-variety shows for Howard Stern, Regis & Kelly and Caroline Rhea.

CBS is slotting Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen into the 12:30am slot for the 2025/26 broadcast season.

It comes after the network ended After Midnight, which ran for two seasons, once Taylor Tomlinson decided that she wanted to return to stand-up touring. After Midnight will end on June 12.

Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen will begin airing after The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday September 22 with back-to-back, half-hour episodes.

Another 104 days of summer vacation are on the horizon. Disney has released the first four minutes of Phineas & Ferb's Season 5 premiere episode, "Summer Block Buster."

The sneak peek begins with Phineas recounting the events of "Last Day of Summer," the Season 4 finale (and series finale of the show's original run), to his class on the last day of school. While summer doesn't technically start until the next day, Phineas begins to break into song, pointing out how they can get half a day of summer today, since school ends at 3 Pm. What follows is the first new song for the revival, with Phineas, Ferb, and the rest of their friends unleashing a catchy tune about how "Summer Is Starting Right Now." Disney has unveiled a brand-new preview for its eagerly-anticipated Phineas and Ferb revival series. Originally airing its first four seasons on the Disney Channel and Disney Xd between 2007 and 2015, the show returns on June 5.

Per ComicBook, Disney's preview images feature the series protagonists and stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, as well as other series regulars, including their sister Candace and the villainous Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Phineas and Ferb co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh continue to helm the series, which will premiere on Thursday, June 5 on Disney Channel and Disney Xd with two episodes. The first episode will be available the same day on Disney Channel YouTube. The first ten episodes of the season will hit Disney+ in the United States (and select international markets) on Friday, June 6.
