The world of Bayside High doesn’t make a lot of sense. That’s because it’s an early ‘90s teen sitcom, and a particularly mindless one even by those standards. But it’s pretty hard to explain in the context of the fictional universe why, say, characters are constantly winking in and out of existence and the protagonist has the power to stop time. This isn’t a magical fantasy world where such events would be commonplace; it’s just a normal Southern California high school, and nobody ever even acknowledges it happens.
One way to look at it, and we did in 2012, is that it actually is a fantasy world — specifically, Zack Morris’. It’s the only way to explain how he went from junior high loser in Indiana, as portrayed in the Saved By the Bell precursor Good Morning, Miss Bliss, to Bayside’s big man on campus.

Sometimes lightning does strike twice… Happy Gilmore 2 is the riotous, heartfelt, and utterly crowd-pleasing sequel I never dared to hope for. As someone who has quoted the original Happy Gilmore more times than I can count, this follow-up is not just a worthy successor, it’s a joyous celebration of everything that made the 1996 classic a cult favourite while cleverly updating the story for a new generation.
Adam Sandler slides back into the cleats of Happy with surprising ease, proving once again that this role was tailor-made for him. Older, not necessarily wiser, but still just as hot-tempered and hilarious, Happy is now navigating the twilight of his golf career.

A new trailer for the second part of “Wednesday” Season 2 is out, and it seemingly teases Lady Gaga’s arrival to the crazy and cooky world of the Addams Family and Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams.
The action-packed trailer is full of twists, surprises and familiar faces as Wednesday hunts down Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin. This includes the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems, who was killed at the end of “Wednesday” Season 1. Weems’ return, however, comes with a twist: Wednesday is the only one who can see her.
“What ring of hell is this?” Wednesday asks, seeing Larissa dressed as a nurse as the young Addams recovers from her near-fatal experience at the end of “Season 2, Part 1.”
“This isn’t hell, Ms. Addams,” Larissa replies. “But I understand the confusion.”
“If I’m not dead, then why are you here?” Wednesday asks.

Yes, the first season of Sausage Party: Foodtopia can feel like reheated leftovers from the filthy minds of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. I mean, what did you expect from the creatives who brought us Superbad, Pineapple Express, Good Boys, and one of the best animated films of the decade, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem?
Heck, now that these two have created Apple TV+’s brilliant and critically acclaimed The Studio, maybe the naysayers will get off their pedestals and embrace a series that wants to make you laugh—and has a smarter political view than most are willing to admit. Albeit, a downright filthy, humorous, and slant that may be hard to digest.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for Season 2 Part 1 of “Wednesday.”
“Wednesday” is back, and this time, so is the Addams family.
In Season 2 of the hit Netflix series, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) returns to Nevermore Academy flanked by her relatives: her younger brother, Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), who is now a fellow student, and her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán), as Morticia has accepted a fundraising job on campus. But it’s not a happy reunion: Having her family around is a major source of irritation for Wednesday, especially because of the protections Morticia has tried to impose over her use of her psychic powers.
At the end of Season 1, Wednesday was beginning to come into her own as a psychic thanks to the connection she made with one of her ancestors, Goody Addams (also played by Ortega). And by her own metric, she mastered that ability over her summer break,...

This article contains spoilers for season 2 of "Wednesday."
The second season of Netflix's "Wednesday" is a pleasant surprise. Not only does it bring back so many of the strongest elements of the successful first season — chief among them Jenna Ortega's superlative performance as Wednesday Addams — it also jettisons the aspects about that season that weren't working, replacing them instead with more delightfully tried and true elements. The series is now much more of an "Addams Family" show, with the entire clan more present. It also allows director Tim Burton to infuse more of his signature touches on the series, including a neat stop-motion animation sequence and a perfect blend of humor and horror.
Another noticeable change to the show is how it shifts focus a little bit more toward an episodic rather than serialized structure. Where the first season was written and paced in a similar fashion to...

It feels bizarre that Wednesday returns at a time when Halloween is still months away. The show that became a runaway Netflix hit — while creatively reinvigorating director Tim Burton and turning Jenna Ortega into a generational star — radiates creepy, kooky and altogether ooky vibes, spinning the Addams Family character into her own Harry Potter-for-goth-kids YA detective series with hugely fun results. But Wednesday’s return at the height of summer speaks to Netflix’s blockbuster approach for the show’s second season — much bigger and starrier, a Stranger Things-like glow-up in scope, with somewhat mixed results.
The not-so-secret weapon in Season 1 was Ortega herself — knockout casting, elevating the material with deliciously deadpan delivery. She remains excellent here, relishing every cutting line. “It’s Addams with two Ds,” she declares early on. “Like ‘padded room’.” We’re reunited with Wednesday during her idea of...

Season 2 of Wednesday debuted on Netflix on August 6 and is packed with several surprises. But the biggest surprise came from The Princess Diaries star Heather Matarazzo, who made a surprising return to the screen in the show as Judi Spannegel.
Starring as an overly cheerful yet sinister executive assistant to Dr. Rachael Fairburn (played by Thandiwe Newton) at Willow Hill psychiatric facility. However, her true character slowly starts to unfold once she crosses paths with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams, who seemingly dislikes Judi.
Matarazzo, known for her iconic roles in Welcome to the Dollhouse and The Princess Diaries, joins other Hollywood legends like Haley Joel Osment, Christopher Lloyd, Billie Piper, and more to make appearances in the second season of the show.

The second season of Netflix’s Wednesday is finally here, and it is actually exactly as I’d imagined. Episode 1 sees Wednesday return to Nevermore, dark as ever. Things have been quite different at the school for outcasts ever since the incidents of the previous school year. Unfortunately, Weems’ death means a new principal, but there’s also a new redhead in town replacing our villainess, Thornhill. The thing that makes this show so darn fun is not the fact that it’s about the Addams family, but that it makes Wednesday such a lovable character despite her naturally uninviting demeanor. Honestly, it’s quite meta how she’d hate how many fans she has if she were a real person. Anyway, Tim Burton is back, and from the first episode, I can already tell I’m going to enjoy the rest of the show at least. So, with that said,...

This post contains spoilers from Wednesday season 2 episode 1 from this point forward.
Long time no see, Wednesday Addams! It's been nearly three years since the Emmy Award-nominated Netflix original series premiered, but Wednesday season 2 has finally arrived. The first episode, aptly titled "Here We Woe Again," kicks off with Wednesday harnessing her psychic abilities with help from Goody's book and taking on a new mystery to solve. She takes it upon herself to solve the Kansas City Scalper cold case.
Somehow still making it through airport security even though she had an arsenal of weapons on her person, Wednesday makes it to Kansas City and confronts the Scalper (Haley Joel Osment). Her psychic vision gives her black tears, and Thing helps her out when the Scalper ties her up in his basement. She returns home after catching the serial killer, but it's time to head back to school at Nevermore Academy.

The Sixth Sense didn’t just dominate the box office — it owned 1999. We all fall for nostalgia bait but when it comes from Adam Sandler in the form of Happy Gilmore 2, it becomes even more special. The sequel to the 1996 cult-classic has proven successful for Netflix, where it debuted this week to high viewership numbers. The movie has the same flavor, charm, and gripping golf tournament that made the original film so lovable. So, can we get a Happy Gilmore 3? Well, the movie’s co-writer, Tim Herlihy, has a disappointing answer to that question.
Continuing their long-term partnership, Sandler and Herlihy co-wrote Happy Gilmore 2, bringing back many lovable characters and giving a nod to their previous work. While discussing the movie in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the co-writer revealed there hasn’t been talk of a sequel, “Not between me and Adam. I can say we haven’t had one discussion about it,” he revealed. He further explained,...

Long before Nicholas Hoult gave viewers the best Lex Luthor performance of the 21st century, he was nailing his debut movie role in 1996's "Intimate Relations." The movie was about a 20-something British lodger in the 1950s who gets caught in a horrendous love triangle between a mother (played by Julie Walters) and her teenaged daughter. Although the movie is comedic, the love triangle still ends in bloodshed and tragedy, as they are wont to do.
Hoult plays the young Bobby, a kid who's just sort of on the sidelines, enjoying the mental health benefits that come with being unproblematic. Bobby only enjoys a few mere moments of screentime, but Hoult and his distinctive eyebrows make sure to take advantage of it, as you can see above.
Hoult hasn't spoken much about this movie, mainly because he was seven at the time and the role wasn't that substantial, but he...

Happy Gilmore 2 hit Netflix last week, and although the film has been a major hit for the streamer in the viewership column, it makes some controversial decisions with the story. Easily the most talked-about plot point is the death of Virginia (Julie Bowen), which happens between films but is shown early in the sequel. Virginia died after being hit with a golf ball via an errant shot from Happy (Adam Sandler).
Sandler recently caught up with The Hollywood Reporter about the decision to kill Bowen’s Virginia. Before going into details about Happy Gilmore 2, Sandler praised Bowen’s work as a professional, “We love Julie. She’s just a great vibe and a great person. We love working with her, and we did the first one and Hubie Halloween.” Sandler then explained the decision to kill Virginia, saying, “We just knew we needed Happy to have to overcome something in this story.

Wednesday Season 2 on Netflix is nearing its premiere on August 6, 2025. The upcoming season is going to be split into two parts. The upcoming season has a brand new roster of fresh faces, but fans are going particularly gaga over one addition: Lady Gaga. Popular for her genre-bending creativity, Gaga seems like the most fitting addition to the franchise, set to appear in a guest role in Season 2 Part 2 (via Netflix).
Speaking about working with her to Variety, Tim Burton expressed:
She’s such an artist, and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational.
He also recently teased the possibility of collaborating with the actress/singer at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy. When asked if he can confirm whether he’ll ever work with Gaga again, he replied, “No, I can’t. But I dope so”. And that gives us hope. While we wait to witness Gaga in...

It’s been almost 30 years since Happy Gilmore teed off, and the sequel doesn’t waste time getting into the swing of things. It’s got the laughs, the throwbacks, and just enough blink-and-you’ll-miss-it details to keep diehard fans on their toes. Adam Sandler’s back as the unfiltered golf legend, now dealing with fatherhood and a second shot at glory – still loud, still angry, still hilarious. But the real gold? It’s in the background.
Quick nods to the original, surprise cameos, inside jokes, and a few personal touches that connect straight to Sandler’s off-screen life. You probably missed a few. Most people did. Here are ten Easter eggs that flew under the radar – even for the fans who thought they knew it all.

M. Night Shyamalan’s next movie withJake Gyllenhaal recently began production, but while he’s hard at work filming the upcoming romantic thriller, fans have pushed his most maligned project back into the streaming spotlight. Shyamalan wrote and directed the 2010 critically panned adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which ditched the first part of its title and rolled with The Last Airbender. The film is currently streaming on Paramount+ in America and on Claro Video globally, where it’s one of the most popular movies in Ecuador and other countries. It earned a disastrous 5% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 30% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter, but popularity of the original Avatar animated series helped the film gross $319 million on a $150 million budget, which avoided complete financial disaster for Paramount.
Shyamalan sat down for an interview with Demand Entertainment in 2013 to talk about the extremely poor reception of The Last Airbender.

Adam Sandler's dream in Happy Gilmore 2 was to include Tiger Woods, but sadly, it didn't happen. The highly anticipated sequel to 1996's Happy Gilmore has finally been released on Netflix, catching up with Sandler's titular character in the present day. Happy Gilmore 2 highlights a star-studded cast of characters, bringing together several golf legends in special cameos, such as Scottie Scheffler, Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy, and Tony Finau. However, one notable absence is the iconic Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods is perhaps a member of golf's Mount Rushmore, with him being widely regarded as the greatest golfer in history. His absence in Happy Gilmore 2 is clearly a missed opportunity, but there are several factors why the expert golfer didn't appear.

Taylor Swift is showing her support for Travis Kelce’s latest acting endeavor.
The “Fortnight” singer took to her Instagram Story to commemorate the release of Happy Gilmore 2, which the NFL player makes a cameo in as a waiter. There, she shared a photo of Adam Sandler portraying the beloved titular character and rated the film a 13/10.
“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie!” the 14-time Grammy award winner wrote. “An absolute must watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible.”

Considering past misbegotten sequels to Adam Sandler movies like Grown Ups 2 and Murder Mystery 2, I am not quite sure why it took the star three long decades to fire up one for arguably his best comedy and most memorable character, 1996’s Happy Gilmore. He even named his production company after it for chrissakes. But now fans who have waited a very long time for a second round with the angry but always watchable movie golf icon get a sweet payoff with Happy Gilmore 2.
Considering the mostly upbeat results here I am surprised Netflix held back critics until just a handful of hours before the film started streaming at midnight. There are more than enough Lol moments and multitudes of big-name cameos, as well as devotion to the original and exactly what fans of both the first movie — as well as golf itself — will eat up. With the world a mess right now,...

With Friday’s streaming launch of Adam Sandler’s comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2, Netflix has made sure to tap the movie into the public consciousness.
Ever since Netflix confirmed last year that it was making a sequel to Adam Sandler’s popular 1996 movie, Happy Gilmore, fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up. Director Kyle Newacheck’s new movie sees Sandler reprise his role as an unlikely golfer known for his long drives. Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie and Haley Joel Osment are among the cast additions alongside returning stars Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen and Ben Stiller.
Even before the trailer dropped in May, the film’s marketing had kicked into gear, with McDonald appearing in character as cocky golfer Shooter McGavin at the Wm Phoenix Open golf tournament months prior. Then, the trailer’s release proved to be a big success, according to the streamer.

Plot: Twenty-nine years after winning his first Tour Championship, retired golfer Happy Gilmore returns to the sport to pay for his daughter Vienna’s ballet school.
Review (Warning: contains mild spoilers): When Happy Gilmore hit theaters in 1996, I was a dumb high schooler who had loved the idiocy of Adam Sandler’s Billy Madison and hoped for more of the sophomoric shenanigans that film delivered. Reteaming with Billy Madison co-writer Tim Herlihy, Happy Gilmore was a hilariously stupid sports movie with Sandler’s trademark yelling and bizarre jokes wrapped in an underdog tale. Naming his production company after his first two hit films, Adam Sandler has gone on to make dozens of similar movies interspersed with acclaimed movies like Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems. After three decades, Sandler and Herlihy have returned to give audiences the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2, which replicates the heartfelt stupidity of the original movie...

On the rink, he was a tough player who could have used a few skating lessons. On the green, however, Happy Gilmore’s killer slap shot helped him score the kind of long drives that could make Mike Austin scream profanity out of frustration. Hockey’s loss became golf’s gain, and Gilmore’s domination on the championship tour gave the PGA a shot of pure rock & roll energy right up its tight, white ass. Not even the furious fists of Bob Barker could slow down Happy’s ascent to sports legend.

Having completed three weeks of release in theaters worldwide, Jurassic World Rebirthis all set to pass the $700 million mark at the global box office this weekend. The film debuted theatrically just before James Gunn's Superman, and will soon face a new challenge in the form of Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Rebirth serves as a fresh start for the long-running action adventure franchise, which recently wrapped up a trilogy of billion-dollar hits starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Based on past results, the benchmark for success for Rebirth should also be around $1 billion. But there's still some work to be done on that front. Until then, it can enjoy the success of having overtaken major hits such as Doctor Strange and The Sixth Sense.

When Happy Gilmore first teed off in 1996, it quickly became one of the most beloved sports comedies of its time. Directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler in one of his most iconic roles, the film’s mix of crude humor, underdog charm, and slapstick golf action turned it into a cult classic. Now, nearly three decades later, Sandler is stepping back onto the green for Happy Gilmore 2, a long-awaited sequel that blends the nostalgic vibe of the original with fresh faces and a modern twist. With the film set to release globally on Netflix on July 25, 2025, fans are eager to revisit this hilariously dysfunctional world of golf, grudges, and unlikely triumphs.
