At an artificial intelligence summit in Paris last month, Vice President Jd Vance slammed the European Union for what he called “excessive regulation” around the advancement of artificial intelligence, adding that such regulation will hinder innovation in the tech industry.
His comments were music to the ears of tech giants like Google and OpenAI, who last week submitted formal proposals to the White House Office of Science and Technology (Ostp) regarding the U.S. AI Action Plan. Their suggestions, essentially: Regulation? Who needs that?
Specifically, both companies included sections in their proposals regarding copyright and argued that, when it comes to copyright laws, the government should apply the fair use doctrine to AI. OpenAI said doing so is “not only a matter of American competitiveness — it’s a matter of national security.” Google said it’s “essential for accelerating AI in science.”

If you're looking for a major shakeup at the 2025 Emmys, don't hold your breath for the comedy acting races to make waves. For the second year in a row, Hacks and The Bear are predicted to extend their streak of domination — led by Jean Smart and Jeremy Allen White, who are both undefeated for playing Deborah Vance and Carmen Berzatto, respectively.
The last time one of those two names wasn't called on Emmy night was in 2023, when Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson took home Best Comedy Actress during an off-season for Hacks. Last year, The Bear clawed its way to three of the four main acting prizes and swept both guest star categories (Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis). Smart handed the FX series its only acting loss, snagging her third Emmy for Hacks over The Bear's Ayo Edebiri. Can anyone pull off an upset this year? Here's the state...

Fire up the Plymouth Barracuda and brace the bullshit detector — Charlie Cale is back on the case! Yes, after making a storming debut in Season 1 of Rian Johnson's Columbo-esque, case-of-the-week murder-mystery series Poker Face back in 2023, Natasha Lyonne's human lie detector is readying her return in what's shaping up to be an all-star Season 2. As the newly released teaser for the series ahead shows us, Johnson is pulling out all the stops with the murderer's row — or victims' parade — on the block this time around. Check it out below;
Does this new teaser spoil anything about the new series? No. Does it actually tell us anything about any of the cases Cale will be facing this time out? Also no. Is it essentially a braggadocious run through of the top names on the Season 2 call sheet? Abso-damn-lutely. But what a set of names! Cynthia Erivo! John Mulaney! Katie Holmes!

There's a great deal of excitement surrounding The Fantastic Four: First Steps and last month's teaser trailer launch promised fans a movie that's unlike anything they've seen from Marvel Studios before.

When will we get a new look at the reboot? Unsurprisingly, a new trailer is expected to be released in time for Thunderbolts*'s arrival in theaters this May. In fact, according to InsiderFandom, The Fantastic Four: First Steps' next sneak peek will drop on April 4.
This feels more akin to a lucky guess than a "scoop," but we'll likely catch wind of a possible trailer release nearer the time. 4/4 does seem a fitting date for something but still feels a...

It's been announced that Disneyland guests will be able to meet Marvel's First Family this summer in Tomorrowland. Based on their appearance in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing are all expected to be doing meet-and-greets.
However, they won't be alone.
A H.E.R.B.I.E. robot is also in the works from Imagineers, though it's unclear if it will be ready later this summer. As for how The Thing will be brought to life, we'd imagine it's going to be similar to the Quantum Suit-wearing Hulk who has occasionally roamed the Disney Parks.
Back to H.E.R.B.I.E., he's described as "a fully functioning analog computer [that] assists the Fantastic Four in their quest to protect Earth."

Yesterday, concept art from several past and upcoming MCU projects leaked online. Among them was The Fantastic Four: First Steps and, while there wasn't anything too revealing - it looks like Shalla-Bal will be bald rather than rocking silver hair - there are some big hints about what the future holds in store for Marvel's First Family.
It's now been confirmed that the upcoming reboot will feature an infant Franklin Richards, the son of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.
The comics have established him as a powerful reality warper and one of the strongest beings in the universe, even at a young age. He used his God-like abilities to help restore the Multiverse following its collapse due to the incursion crisis, so you can probably figure out how the boy will be key to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Following that revealing Avengers: Doomsday concept art (check it out here if you haven't already), we have some more of Mushk Rizvi's designs from her official site, this time spotlighting the main characters from The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Spoilers follow.
This artwork features several different costume designs for the members of Marvel's First Family, as well as some alternate looks for H.E.R.B.I.E the robot. We also have confirmation that Franklin Richards will appear in the movie, and one animated clip shows the lad in a Spider-Man onesie using his powers.
Franklin's role has yet to be officially announced, but arguably the biggest reveal here is our first glimpse of Shalla Bal/Silver Surfer, who will be played by Julia Garner in the movie.
If this design does end up being true to what we see on the screen, it seems Shalla is...

Thankfully, it’s coming with The Hollywood Reporter sharing a first peek at Poker Face season 2. That includes how it’s eying a spring 2025 release date. That’s likely going to be April or early May.

Peacock has also released several photos from the coming, 12-episode season (up from 10 in season one), featuring Lyonne’s Charlie Cale and several of the season’s guest stars.

Welcome to the 40th Film Independent Spirit Awards – an experience like no other. In a homecoming of sorts, filmmakers didn’t just arrive to celebrate; they came to quench their thirst for collaboration, community and seriously good cappuccinos, refilling their creative cups and paying homage to a year of indie cinema that soared despite global chaos.
Aidy Sets The Tone
The day kicked off with our host, SNL alum Aidy Bryant, who greeted the crowd and remarked, “40 is the new 20!” Though the show has officially entered middle age, it has no plans of slowing anytime soon. “I saw a lot of your old asses get sad when TikTok got banned,...

Loki is one of those shows that can’t quite fit into one genre. Yes, it’s a Disney Plus series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it is so much more than that.
The TV series includes time travel, alternate worlds, saving universes, and so much character development that it’s hard to find something just as good. This is a story where the villain becomes the hero, continuing a journey started before his death.
With the series now seemingly at an end, there’s no doubt that you want to find something else to watch. Here are five great shows to check out next, and not all of them are Marvel!

“Anora”
We must start by stating the obvious, as the Palme d’Or winning film released by Neon not only won Best Film, but Best Director for Sean Baker, and Best Lead Performance for Mikey Madison right on the heels of a handful of key awards wins at places like the PGA Awards,...
