Trivia

  • Was "best friends" with actor/comedian Norm Macdonald from mid 2000 to mid 2001 according to Macdonald's The Norm Show co-star Artie Lange. Kato Kaelin was even given a guest role on the show. The two had a falling out which ended their friendship.
  • Was living on the estate of O.J. Simpson when Simpson's ex-wife was murdered.
  • Oct 1999 - Settled a $15 million libel lawsuit over a headline in the National Examiner that read "Cops Think Kato Did It." Although the paper says "it" meant perjury, the court didn't agree and awarded in the honor of Kaelin.
  • Testified at the O.J. Simpson Murder trial.
  • In a November 2015 interview by Barbara Walters on American Scandals (2015), Kato stated that he believed O.J. Simpson really was guilty of the double homicide for which he was acquitted.

Quotes

  • I don't like to be known for the OJ trial and now I'm overcoming it. But it's been six years, and I've had a SAG card over 17 years. People should realize that I shot a Coke commercial back in 1986. So, you know, I've been around a long time. I carry my Screen Actors Guild Card. - Interview, 2001
  • If the Brown and Goldman families wanted to hit O.J. (Simpson) where he lived, instead of suing for $33 million, they might have ordered him to take that money and produce NO PLACE TO HIDE PART 2. That *really* would have been going for his jugular.
