Can the series live up to all the heart,...

Jesse Metcalfe “Was Oblivious” To ‘Desperate Housewives’ Set Drama
Image
Despite reports of behind-the-scenes drama on Desperate Housewives, Jesse Metcalfe was just happy to be part of the neighborhood.

The actor recently recalled his run on the ABC comedy-drama as teen gardener John Rowland, admitting he “was oblivious” to any on-set friction between the main cast of the show, created by Marc Cherry.

“I was just happy to have a job,” he said on a recent panel, according to People. “I went through an entire pilot season, I didn’t book anything, and I tested for Desperate Housewives, which was a recast, right at the end of that pilot season and ended up booking it.”

Metcalfe said he was “very grateful” for his Season 1 series regular role of Gabrielle Solis’ (Eva Longoria) young sidepiece, which he reprised a guest throughout the series.

“I was just kind of riding the wave, you know, because that show really broke me and I...

(Fox)

Sadly, there isn’t much scripted television programming floating around outside of CBS. Many of the other broadcast networks have leaned heavily into reality programming, competition shows, and sports.

Even Fox has a heavy slate of competition, including reality-type shows and animated programming.

Felicity Huffman is joining the cast of “Doc” for Season 2. The actress joins the cast a Dr. Amy Larsen’s (Molly Parker) former med school professor Dr. Joan Ridley, a new addition to the hospital staff.

“Double-boarded in internal medicine and surgery, she’s the kind of doctor who never has to raise her voice,” reads a description for the new character. “Incredibly charming and charismatic with a wicked sense of humor that masks her ferocious ambition. She proudly describes herself as an ‘old-school broad.’ She drinks whiskey, smokes the occasional Marlboro red, and treats herself to solo steak dinners. Joan was Dr. Amy Larsen’s med school professor and early mentor — and Amy was her standout student. Their dynamic is layered, charged and deeply rooted in mutual respect, with just enough friction to keep it honest which is why Michael offers her the open Chief of Internal Medicine job at Westside.

Glee Reunion: Chris Colfer and Darren Criss Bring #Klaine to the Tonys, 10 Years After Series Finale
Image
The 2025 Tony Awards was a big night for a lot of people — but mostly for the cast of Glee.

Where do we even begin? Perhaps with Jonathan Groff (aka Jesse St. James) getting everyone on their feet with a performance from the Bobby Darin musical Just in Time? Or maybe Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) presenting an award while celebrating her own impending return to Broadway in the revival of Chess? Or how about Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson) taking home his first-ever Tony Award for his role in this year’s Best Musical winner Maybe Happy Ending?

“I’m More Nervous”: ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ Star Reveals His Approach to Directing Upcoming Episode
Image
Elias Voit might be a transformed man (we hope this is the case for real), but his minions are still running rogue in Criminal Minds: Evolution. Zach Gilford, the actor who has so compellingly brought the deranged character to life since the reboot's inception, has revealed he will help steer Voit's arc this season, behind the scenes. Gilford is set to direct an upcoming episode of the crime procedural, but this won't be his first time performing off-screen duties on the series. Gilford first directed Season 2, Episode 8, "North Star," parts of which centered around the Bau unraveling further details about Voit's sinister Sicarius network.

Several episodes later, the activities of the deadly network continue to keep the Bau busy, even though their leader has now seemingly turned a new leaf. The previous episode, "The Brutal Man," sees Gilford agreeing to work with the Bau to crack down on every last member of the network.

The Thirteenth Wife: Escaping Polygamy Review: Surviving the Prophet
Image
Imagine a life rebuilt from ashes, quiet and orderly, only to have the specter of your past appear on your doorstep. This is where we meet Rena in The Thirteenth Wife: Escaping Polygamy. She tends to her garden, a picture of tranquil domesticity, before a news report about a violent shootout with a Mexican cult shatters her peace.

The real catalyst arrives in the form of Josie, a reporter who knows exactly who Rena used to be. This encounter forces Rena to unlock a lifetime of trauma and recount her story as the thirteenth wife of Ervil LeBaron, a charismatic and monstrous self-proclaimed prophet.

The film immediately positions itself as a harrowing biographical thriller, not just about escaping a physical place, but about the impossibility of escaping memory itself. It explores the deep scars of psychological captivity and the sheer will required to survive when your entire world was designed to control you.

Image
Rena Chynoweth’s harrowing true-life story of survival is told through the two-part movie The Thirteenth Wife: Escaping Polygamy, premiering over two nights on May 31 and June 1 on Lifetime. Felicity Huffman Reacts To Kerry Washington’s ‘Desperate Housewives’ Offshoot
Image
With some new housewives moving onto one of TV’s most famous streets, Felicity Huffman is welcoming them to the neighborhood.

The Oscar nominee, who portrayed Lynette Scavo on ABC‘s Desperate Housewives, recently reacted to news of Kerry Washington‘s Onyx Collective offshoot Wisteria Lane, which Deadline exclusively announced last month.

“Isn’t that great? They’re gonna do Wisteria Lane with women of color, and I am all for it,” she said on Good Morning America, before joking: “I am gonna do craft service for it. But I just think it’s wonderful, and I’m a huge fan of Kerry’s.”

Huffman had no suggestions on who should take over her role as Lynette, an overworked stay-at-home mother of five children who longs for the workplace and eventually struggles cancer during the show’s eight-season run from 2004 to 2012.

“Oh my god, I have no idea,” said Huffman.

Kerry Washington To Revive 'Desperate Housewives' With 'Wisteria Lane'
Image
The Desperate Housewives are getting new neighbors. Well, sorta. Marc Cherry's iconic ABC television series is being brought back to life by Kerry Washington and The Flight Attendantshowrunner Natalie Chaidez. Taking place under Disney's Onyx Collective banner, the new series, called Wisteria Lane as a nod to the original show's iconic neighborhood/street, is said to be "a re-imagining" of the old show, which followed the shocking and mysteriously dramatic lives of a handful of families living on the aforementioned street.

The news, first reported by Deadline, comes as no surprise given the ABC series' 20th anniversary back in 2024. Though not involved in this project, the show's continued fandom thanks to streaming — coupled with Cherry's previous comments about wanting to revisit the universe of Wisteria Lane — makes it the exact sort of property to revisit in an era of new social mores but no less drama. But before you get too excited,...
