Drake is once again topping the charts with his latest release, ‘What Did I Miss?‘, which entered straight in at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. This new single marks the Canadian rapper’s 81st entry into the Top 10, further extending his historic record as the artist with the most hits in that category. The track became a global trending topic just hours after its official release.

The song premiered on 4 July during a live YouTube event titled ‘Iceman Episode 1’ and was released on digital platforms on 5 July. It amassed 22.6 million streams in its first week, earning the number one spot on both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts — once again demonstrating Drake’s worldwide pulling power.

Lauryn Hill was one of six artists Drake tapped to share the stage with him on the first of his three nights headlining London’s Wireless Festival this weekend.

The Ovo rapper set an R&b theme for night one of the concert series, which saw him pass the mic to singers such as Mario, Bobby Valentino, Bryson Tiller, and Giveon to churn out their crowd-pleasing singles. The festival, which was stuffed with performers in the lineup, ran behind schedule, leading to Hill not taking the stage at the Caesars Superdome until 2:30 a.m. local time. Her performance, which was supposed to be for July 4, didn’t start until well into July 5.

Only several hundred people were in the crowd, that is made to fit 83,000. Hill was bantering with the crowd and taking requests for songs.

Delays completely derailed the opening day of the 31st annual event, which returned to the Superdome in New Orleans this past weekend. According to Nola.com, opening night Friday, July 4, featured a whopping eight acts, with Hill joining the lineup just two days before the concert. As the show got underway, it was quickly beset by scheduling issues that only got worse as the night wore on.

A massive trove of live performances from the late-Nineties/early-Aughts glory days of music television has finally made it to the streaming era, with Paramount+ uploading old episodes of MTV Unplugged, CMT Crossroads, and VH1 Storytellers.

The legendary vocalist, known for classics like “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” has died at the age of 88, according to a statement from her rep.

A cause of death was not given.
