- While in the midst of a divorce, Nacio became romantically involved with singer/actress/dancer Doris Eaton. He wrote "Singin' in the Rain" and "Doll Dance" for her, which she introduced in "The Hollywood Music Box Revue" in 1927.
- Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
- Singin' in the Rain was adapted to a West End Musical in 2000 and was awarded Outstanding Musical Production in 2001 at the Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards.
