Though the series ended only five years ago, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a show from a different television era. The Marvel live-action series ran on ABC for 136 episodes across seven seasons, had five seasons with 20-plus episodes, and ended on its own terms. Nowadays, achieving any of those feats on TV is rare. Not to mention, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is also the last show from the previous Marvel Television division that was independent of Marvel Studios.

The show’s final two seasons had 13 episodes each. These followed a fifth season that acted as a final season before ABC ultimately renewed it. The season 5 finale is even titled “The End” and plays out as the conclusion to Phil Coulson’s S.H.I.E.L.D. team and its journey.

There has long been a continued debate over whether Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set in the Sacred Timeline of the MCU. The possibility has gotten an update from Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Winderbaum spoke about the show's status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, acknowledging how the TV series did hint at MCU connections. However, while not outright giving a clear answer, Winderbaum said that the series "fits into The Multiverse Saga," seemingly hinting that the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are set in a different timeline, but could still potentially connect to the MCU through the multiverse. With that teased, the executive couldn't quite guarantee that either, hinting that there was no rush to revisit Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., even with great appreciation for the series.

When law professor Tal (Grantham Coleman) enters his childhood home ahead of his father’s funeral, his young son Bentley (Dyllan Yelverton) turns to him with curiosity. “Is Grandpa going to be a ghost?” he asks. It’s funny the things you remember from your youth. I was at the age where the idea of a series willing to push the envelope, delivering a taste of the big screen on the small, sounded like an excellent idea.

They say that all publicity is good publicity, but people around the country were so concerned about the effect the show may have on the morals of the everyman that 57 local stations around the country refused to air the premiere.

A month later, there were still 45 ABC affiliates who, due to the possibility of coarse language and nudity, were still not airing it.

This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.

All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Adrianne Palicki recently discussed the ABC series' unrealized spinoff, Marvel's Most Wanted, hinting that she thinks canceling the show may have been a mistake on Disney's part.

Palicki starred on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Barbara "Bobbi" Morse, who Marvel Comics fans will also know as Mockingbird and/or Agent 19. During an interview with Den of Geek, the actor fondly recalled her time playing Bobbi Morse, saying she "loved" working on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and remains good friends with co-stars Ming-Na Wen, Henry Simmons and Nick Blood. Notably, Blood would have starred opposite Palicki on Most Wanted, which shot a pilot but was never picked up as a full series.

Actor Adrianne Palicki is one of that select group of actors who has had a foot in both the Marvel and DC universes onscreen. While her DC adventures did not work out so well – she played the title character in an unsold Wonder Woman pilot for NBC and appeared as a villain in an (also unsold) Aquaman pilot for The CW – her time with Marvel was more successful.

Palicki played agent Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, for most of two seasons on Marvel’s ABC-tv series Agents of Shield, appearing in 31 episodes between 2014 and 2016 alongside team partner and ex-husband Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). Morse and Hunter were such a popular part of the ensemble that Marvel TV decided to spin them off at the end of Season 3 into their own series.

It's pretty incredible how "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," a television spin-off of the central agency who brought the Avengers together, evolved beyond its constraints, and became one of the most interesting success stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When you look at the history of how the Marvel Cinematic Universe came to be, the casting of Robert Downey Jr. was viewed as a very risky decision. And now we can't imagine anyone else but him as "Iron Man." It is undoubtedly one of Marvel Studios' greatest successes, and in the years to come, the growing interest in the MCU would help turn more niche comic book titles into megablockbuster hits ("Guardians of the Galaxy").

At this point, the MCU has essentially reached a point where its projects no longer need to prove themselves in order to be successful. "Iron Man" was, by all accounts, a miracle that led to Marvel Studios' domination. When we talk about surprises under the Marvel banner, especially given how quickly folks seemed to turn on it, I would argue that one of Marvel's greatest success stories is one that we don't really talk about as much.

OWN announced Richard Roundtree and Terri J. Vaughn have joined the second season of romantic anthology drama, “Cherish The Day.”

Roundtree and Vaughn will be joining the cast in recurring roles. Roundtree is set to occur as Mandeville “Mv” St. James, a proud, loving, wry-humored former judge and widowed father of Sunday, played by Joy Bryant. Vaughn will recur as Anastasia, Ellis’ (Henry Simmons) soon-to-be ex-wife and the mother of their children.

“Cherish The Day” is an anthology series that chronicles the relationship of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day.

As Hollywood continues its ongoing fight for increased diversity and representation across the industry, disability is rarely included.

Entrepreneur and disability activist Keely Cat-Wells is teaming up with major Hollywood figures to urge movie studios to hire a permanent disability officer. Amy Poehler and Naomie Harris are among over 80 names who have signed an open letter being sent across Hollywood on Wednesday.

“If you show the injustice of the system and say, ‘Look, here’s a way forward,’ it makes it more difficult for people to ignore,” says “James Bond” star Harris in support of the letter.

Cat-Wells is the founder of the Los Angeles-based talent agency, C Talent, which represents d/Deaf and disabled artists and athletes globally.

Princ Films has taken international rights to Slávek Horák’s “Havel,” a biopic about the Czech playwright, dissident and his country’s president Vaclav Havel, and will launch sales at the European Film Market.

The film recently received 14 nominations for the Czech Lion Awards, the leading Czech film awards, across all major categories including film, director, screenplay, and all acting categories. It also received two nominations for the Czech Film Critics’ Awards, best actor and actress.

“Havel” premiered at the Visegrad Cinema Days, run by the Kyiv Film Festival in the Ukraine, and went onto play a slew of festivals including Heartland (Indiana), where it was a finalist for best narrative feature, Montreal Independent, where Horák won best director, Rome Independent, where it won best feature, Warsaw, Tallinn Black Nights, São Paulo, Cottbus and Zagreb.

The McU is a very different place from where it was a decade ago when the first few movies in the franchise came out. At that time, Clark Gregg played a pivotal role in the series as Phil Coulson, an agent of the secret organization S.H.I.E.L.D., tasked with bringing together the Avengers. Coulson eventually spun off with his own tv show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was not a part of the end of the Infinity War saga. During a recent interview, Gregg expressed his regret over the fact that his show never got to crossover with the movies.

"I was like, 'Come on, you haven't done a one-shot.' Why couldn't there be a really cool one-shot where they're on a mission, we're on a mission... 'Oops!' You know?"

Henry Simmons spent five years bringing Agent Alphonso Mackenzie to life, but the character existed before Agents Of Shield added him to the series in its second season. Mack is a Marvel comic book character first, meaning there's quite a bit of history between him and Shield.

Fans who love Mack might be interested to know that there's some backstory in the comics - and some big differences to the character - that aren't present in the show. To cap off the show on a high note, the resurrected Phil Coulson and his crew are heading back into the past in order to stop the evil time-traveling Chronicoms. Trailers have given us a flavor of what we can expect, but this new clip offers up our first sneak peek at the season premiere.

The 90-second clip drops Coulson (Clark Gregg), Daisy (Chloe Bennet), Mack (Henry Simmons) and Deke (Jeff Ward) in 1930s New York. “It’s the Great Depression,” the Lmd Coulson explains. “A decade before Pearl Habor, almost four decades before Apollo 11. These people have never even seen a TV.”

We’ve now got less than a month to go until Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its seventh and final season. And to mark the occasion, a new trailer has been released which teases Phil Coulson and his crew’s all-important final mission – they must change the past to save the future. In other words, it’s time for some time travel.

Unfortunately, this trailer isn’t exactly packed with fresh footage. The first minute or so is the same clip which was previously released as a sneak peek at last summer’s Comic-Con.
