Corey Feldman, poster child for 1980s teen stardom, has had more than his share of celebrity feuds. Over the decades, he’s publicly griped about Diddy, Michael Jackson, Howard Stern, Charlie Sheen, Barbara Walters, Marilyn Manson, Aaron Carter and even his Bff Corey Haim. Now we can add another name to the Feldman Enemies List: Johnny Depp.
Leonardo DiCaprio received his first Oscar nomination for playing disabled boy Arnie in Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape? in 1993, but Feldman had a role in that movie too, the former teen idol told Billy Corgan on his Magnificent Others podcast. In fact, he claims, he landed the part before either DiCaprio or Depp were hired for the film. “I was actually cast to play Leonardo DiCaprio’s role,” Feldman explained. “I never saw the film because I’m still bitter. Bitter leaf in that one. But yes, I was originally cast for that role.

Billy Corgan thinks The Smashing Pumpkins are “one of the most misunderstood bands in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.” That’s what the alt-rock act’s frontman told Joe Rogan during a near-three-hour conversation on the latter’s über-popular podcast.
As the guest on a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Corgan touched on a myriad of topics. At one point the pair started to discuss the renewed popularity of once-derided bands Nickelback and Creed.
While talking about polarizing music acts, Corgan said, “You’re about to see that Nickelback and Creed are about to go on a huge run of business. … They survived [the hate], and now comes the inevitable moment of, ‘It was really good’ … they wrote a lot of great songs.”
On that note, Corgan said that he believes that the Pumpkins will get more respect as the years go by, remarking, “It’s kind of how...

“The world is a vampire” –– Billy Corgan, 1995
Before jumping directly into the action, Paul W.S. Anderson’s In the Lost Lands opens with a framing device we’ll return to only at film’s end. The George R. R. Martin adaptation otherwise gives no context whatsoever, and when the plot elements finally reveal themselves it’s near-fablelike, with a powerful Queen despondent that she hasn’t been able to experience the true mysteries of the world. She requests that the witch Grey Alys grant her powers to transform into a werewolf. Until then the movie is a set of seemingly unstructured action sequences with no narrative information to grasp and nothing to connect to. Things seem to happen purely mechanically––at one point, portions of a fight scene take place telepathically between two characters. But far from being confusing, the effect is entirely thrilling.
This is important, too, because after...

The Pirates of the Caribbean swashbuckler franchise is synonymous with Johnny Depp, who played the drunk and eccentric pirate Jack Sparrow. However, Depp, who is also a musician, had brought several high-profile friends to the franchise.
The film series followed Sparrow's adventures in getting back his ship, the Black Pearl, as well as rescuing various characters over the course of the first five films. The franchise was a major success at the box office, partly thanks to Depp's popularity as the infamous pirate. Depp was hardly the most famous name in the franchise, and even Ozzy Osbourne was offered the chance to read for a role, his wife and longtime manager, Sharon Osbourne, revealed during an appearance on the podcast The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan.

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a…bunk bed? Some celebrities look so much alike that it’s a joke that they were somehow separated at birth: Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Will Ferrell and Chad Smith, Donald Glover and Childish Gambino…And then there are those who bear a passing resemblance only after it’s brought up. And thanks to Howie Mandel, we may think that Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan and comedian Bill Burr are long-lost brothers – except, they actually might be…
But first, let’s go back a bit to when Billy Corgan was a guest on Howie Mandel’s podcast. It was there that he told a story how Bill Burr could very well be a step-sibling, with some sordid history at play. Ozzy Osbourne once had the chance to audition for Pirates of the Caribbean, but Sharon Osbourne prevented it from happening. Speaking on The Magnificent Others With Billy Corgan podcast, she admitted that she turned down the opportunity, a decision she now regrets.
“Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy?” she said. “He got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean—and I’ve never said this to anyone.”
Billy Corgan reacted with surprise, asking if she had refused the offer. Sharon confirmed, saying, “I said no. Now, wouldn’t he have been perfect?”
She pointed out that Johnny Depp had brought Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones into the franchise as Captain Teague, Jack Sparrow’s father. Corgan joked that there was still time for Ozzy to take on a film role.
The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has generated over $4.5 billion worldwide.

“I want to apologize,” Mandel said on a recent “Does Stuff” episode. “I feel horrible, and I’m sorry, Bill. I’m sorry, Billy. I only tried to do something good.”

Howie Mandel is expressing remorse after surprising Bill Burr with an appearance by Billy Corgan during a recent episode of his Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast.

Marianne Faithfull, the British singer who scored hits including “As Tears Go By” and “Broken English” as she went from a highly publicized romantic relationship with Mick Jagger to worldwide fame in her own right, died Thursday. She was 78.
Faithfull’s death in London was announced by her family in a statement to the BBC.
Faithfull also appeared in such films as I’ll Never Forget What’s’isname (1967) and The Girl on the Motorcycle (1968) and on the stage in Three Sisters and Hamlet, though her career was curtailed in the 1970s by heroin addiction, alcoholism and homelessness.
She forged a dramatic comeback in 1979 with the album Broken English, which landed her a Grammy nomination for best female rock vocal performance. In 2011, she was awarded the Commandeur of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, one of France’s highest cultural honors.

Howie Mandel had a light-bulb moment after Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan appeared on his podcast and confessed that he might be comedian Bill Burr’s long-lost half-brother. Why not have Burr on as a guest, then surprise him with an out-of-nowhere Corgan appearance?
The Jerry Springer-inspired stunt didn’t sit well with Burr when he figured out what was going on. “You’re an asshole,” the comic told Mandel as Corgan made his way to the podcast set.
Corgan seemed mortified. “He didn’t tell you?” said the singer, looking even more uncomfortable than Burr. “He told me you were totally cool with me coming.”
“Can this be edited out?” Burr asked, not kidding.
“I can go,” Corgan offered.
“Fuck it,” said Burr before turning his irritation to Corgan for bringing up the dubious family connection in the first place. “Did you ever think the fact that I never told that story,...

Legendary English singer Marianne Faithfull has died at the age of 78.
According to a statement from her family, Faithfull “passed away peacefully” on Thursday, January 30th. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.
A defining voice of the 1960s, Faithfull first rose to fame with the song “As Tears Go By,” which was written for her by The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. She proceeded to release several more hit singles throughout the decade, but her career became largely overshadowed by her tumultuous personal life, which included a high-profile relationship with Jagger and battles with addiction. Several of The Rolling Stones’ songs were apparently inspired by Jagger and Faithfull’s relationship, including “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Wild Horses,” and “Sister Morphine.”
Jagger remembered Faithfull in a statement released shortly after her passing, writing: “She was so much part of my life for so long.

Aside from their ages, their success in the entertainment industry, and their hairstyles (or lack thereof), there was a time when it looked like Billy Corgan and Bill Burr didn’t have much in common.
After all, one is a rock icon best known for his brooding anthems of adolescent angst, and the other a standup comedian who brilliantly gives voice to the complaints of middle age.
But now, the internet is abuzz with the rumor that Bill and Billy are brothers. And the rumor was started by none other than Corgan himself.

Bill Burr Calls Howie Mandel a “Hollywood Whore” After Billy Corgan Ambush During Podcast Appearance
Bill Burr actually wasn’t too thrilled with being ambushed by Billy Corgan on Howie Mandel’s podcast.
The actor and comedian made a recent appearance on an episode of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, where the host surprised him with Billy Corgan, the Smashing Pumpkins guitarist who previously revealed that the pair might be related.
However, Burr shared on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday that it wasn’t a good surprise, as he doesn’t “like talking about [my stuff publicly].”
“Howie did what he did because he is a Hollywood whore and he doesn’t care what happens,” he added. “He could’ve said something and he just brings up all that weirdness.”
Back in November, Corgan stopped by Mandel’s podcast, where he recalled his stepmother once telling him: “Do you know who Bill Burr is?… Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired...

A couple months ago, Billy Corgan told Howie Mandel that comedian Bill Burr could very well be his half-brother. With Burr as the latest guest on his podcast, Mandel surprised the funnyman with a visit from the Smashing Pumpkins frontman — leading to a meeting of the two Bills.
On the November episode, Mandel’s production team erroneously put up a photo of Burr during Corgan’s turn on the podcast, leading the alt-rock legend to disclose that he may be related to his celebrity look-alike.
“Most of my friends don’t even know this story,” began Corgan. “About 10 years ago, one of my brothers was having a birthday party, and my stepmother was there, who was obviously married to my father. And my stepmother said to me, ‘Do you know who Bill Burr is?’ Now at that point, I had never heard of Bill Burr; I didn’t know who he was.

Being booed isn’t typically an indication that a comedy show has gone well, hence the reason why Rob Schneider isn’t currently headlining any Canadian hospital fundraisers. But button pushing stand-up comedian and Billy Corgan lookalike Bill Burr recently revealed that one of his favorite gigs of all time found his fellow comics being relentlessly heckled.
During a recent appearance on Wtf with Marc Maron, Burr and Maron chatted about the time they appeared together at “Comics Come Home,” the annual Boston charity show co-founded by Dennis Leary. This prompted Burr to recall when he performed at the event in November 2016. “I went up one year, and one comic — it was the first time Trump got elected — and this person went up on stage, and so trashed Trump (that) half the crowd was booing.”

Isabella Rossellini, who appeared in two of David Lynch's feature films and was romantically involved with the filmmaker for about five years, posted a tribute to Lynch on her Instagram account. The Conclave actress posted a photo of herself with Lynch with the simple caption, "I loved him so much. Thanks for all your kind messages."
Rossellini only had a handful of credits to her name before being cast in Blue Velvet, Lynch's 1986 nightmare of small town America. Rossellini plays Dorothy Vallens, a nightclub singer under the violent and sexually perverse sway of a local criminal (Dennis Hopper). The role was a difficult one to play for any actor, but Rossellini handled it beautifully and made a name for herself in Hollywood.
The story goes, when Lynch first met Rossellini while in pre-production for the film, he commented that she could be Ingrid Bergman's daughter, unaware that she...

Steven Spielberg, Nicolas Cage, and Kyle MacLachlan are among the prominent figures paying tribute to David Lynch, whose death was announced Thursday.
“I loved David’s films. Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and Elephant Man defined him as a singular, visionary dreamer who directed films that felt handmade,” Spielberg said in a statement. “I got to know David when he played John Ford in The Fabelmans. Here was one of my heroes — David Lynch playing one of my heroes. It was surreal and seemed like a scene out of one of David’s own movies. The world is going to miss such an original and unique voice. His films have already stood the test of time, and they always will.”

The death of David Lynch has rocked Hollywood at a time when it is already feeling tender from the Los Angeles wildfires. After decades of defying all the conventions of filmmaking to deliver some of the most surreal and unsettling movies of a generation, including Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and Lost Highway, as well as the impossible to explain or replicate Twin Peaks, it is not surprising that there were many of his peers lining up to pay their own personal tributes.
One of the first to offer their words was another Hollywood legend, Nicolas Cage, who starred in Lynch’s Wild at Heart with Laura Dern. Sharing a statement with Deadline, Cage said:

The embattled Marilyn Manson celebrated his 56th birthday on January 5th with a party attended by The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and James Iha, Filter’s Richard Patrick, Falling in Reverse’s Ronnie Radke, and Mötley Crüe’s John 5, among others.
Photos and videos from the evening posted by Manson associate Vanessa Alexandra on Instagram, as well as the Ig account marilynmanson.gallery, show the shock rocker’s fellow rock stars in attendance. In one of the videos, a large group of partygoers sing “Happy Birthday” to Manson, who tells the crowd that he’s also celebrating four years of sobriety.
Interestingly, Corgan and Manson were in a long-running feud after Manson told the Smashing Pumpkins frontman that he looked like Charlie Brown. However, they settled their differences in 2014 when they performed together onstage.

Billy Corgan insists that Metallica’s hit “Fuel” sounds “awfully close” to Smashing Pumpkins’ “Tales of a Scorched Earth,” while noting that he didn’t think James Hetfield and company would intentionally “rip anything off from me.”
The remark came up when Corgan was asked in a new interview about performing “Tales of a Scorched Earth” live, which has never happened.

“ Well, let me caveat this by saying that I love James Hetfield as a person. I love Metallica … James is probably the greatest riff writer outside of maybe [Black Sabbath’s] Tony Iommi,” Corgan told the Everblack podcast [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]. “James has written some of the greatest, most amazing riffs, and he’s still writing them. But if you listen to ‘Tales of a Scorched Earth’ and you listen to that Metallica song, ‘Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.’ … Now, which song came first?...

Note to Billy Corgan’s stepmother: Not all bald guys are related.
“Most of my friends don’t even know this story,” the Smashing Pumpkins frontman revealed on a recent Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast episode. “About 10 years ago, one of my brothers was having a birthday party, and my stepmother was there, who was obviously married to my father. And my stepmother said to me, ‘Do you know who Bill Burr is?’”
Corgan had no idea, which is understandable — 10 years ago, Burr had reached comedy-club headliner status, doing sets on Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman, but he was not yet a household name. “I didn’t know he was a comedian or anything,” Corgan confessed. “He could have been the guy down the street.”
Back at the party, Corgan looked up Burr on his phone and noticed a passing resemblance to his dad. “Why are you asking?” Corgan wanted to know.

Courtney Love has shared more details about her upcoming solo album, including its collaborators — both the ones who said yes and the one who, apparently, ghosted her.
As she explained in a new interview with The Standard, Love didn’t “intend” for the album to be so collaborative. She’s choosing to keep most of its contributors close to the vest, but she did confirm Michael Stipe’s involvement. “Stipe mentioned our collaboration to The New York Times, so I can say it’s gorgeous,” Love explained. “I fell down weeping hearing his voice – it’s better than ever! I thought I knew the outcome, but I’m still the grasshopper while Michael is the sensei.”
She also confirmed that that Echo & the Bunnymen’s Will Sergeant plays on the album. “Will Sergeant, my favorite guitarist on earth, from my favorite band agreed to work with me!,” Love said. “He’s such an icon.

Comic fans know Scott Snyder best for his work at DC Comics — especially on Batman. However, Snyder also kept up a prolific pace with creator-owned comics. Since 2022, he's been writing several digital-first comic mini-series, which are first distributed through the Amazon digital reading service Comixology, and then published in print by Dark Horse.
One of these is the cyberpunk comic "Clear," drawn by Francis Manapul and first released in 2023. The comic is set in 2052, but it's really about the world we have now. In this future, we haven't solved any of the problems that plague our world; global warming, mass inequality, population displacement, etc. How do people go on living? With "Veils," or brain implants that let you see the world how you want to.

Smashing Pumpkins singer, songwriter, and guitarist Billy Corgan has taken a shot at lists that rank the greatest guitar players of all time, feeling that he’s either ranked too low or snubbed from the lists altogether.
In an interview with Guitar World, Corgan expressed feeling under appreciated from the publications who compile these lists, guitar lovers, and even Smashing Pumpkins fans. “Most people don’t even recognize my contributions as a guitar player,” Corgan told Guitar World. “They don’t even assume I’m the one playing a lot of the guitar.”
He went on, saying that his guitar skills are worthy of a bit more recognition. “You have these silly lists that come out about the greatest guitar players; I usually don’t even make those lists,” he said. “Or they’ll put me behind somebody who I could play circles around. I don’t mean to denigrate...

A red Mini Cooper crashed right through the front window of Billy Corgan’s tea shop, Madame ZuZu’s, on Wednesday (October 30th) in Highland Park, Illinois, injuring the Smashing Pumpkins frontman’s mother-in-law.
Local news footage from WGN9 (watch below) shows the front of the car inside the tea shop with the windows completely blown out. Corgan’s wife Chloe shared details of the incident on Instagram, reporting that the couple’s son Augustus narrowly escaped injury, but that her mother Jenny was indeed hurt.
Chloe’s account of the incident reads as follows:
“This afternoon at Madame Zuzu’s, a car (in circumstances which remain under investigation) drove over the curb and into Madam Zuzu’s, crashing through the window and sadly injuring one person – my mother, Jenny; who was spending the day and lunching with my son Augustus. Thankfully, he was able to leap out of the way and was not injured.

"Well – I'm gonna have to do it sooner or later, so might as well get on with it, baby..." Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for an upcoming music history documentary called Return of the King: The Fall & Rise of Elvis Presley, set for streaming in November this fall. They don't specify if it is one feature-length film or a doc mini-series. Return of the King chronicles the life of Elvis but, in particular, tells the sotry of his 1968 Comeback Special that aired on NBC and marked his return to live music after 7 years focused on his rather mediocre acting career. "He had one chance to show the world he was still the King of Rock 'n' Roll." Apparently it is approved by his estate because Graceland posted about it, too. With appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Conan O'Brien, Billy Corgan, Darlene Love, even his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, and Elvis movie director Baz Luhrmann.

Some bands make their journey to the Fountain of Rockness to take a sip or two; others merely to gargle. But the Hard Quartet dip their four sets of lips into those waters and drink deep. They gather together for an indie-rock supergroup of kindred spirits, resulting in a shaggily delightful album of casual guitar kicks. In this corner: Stephen Malkmus, from Pavement and the Jicks. In that one: Matt Sweeney, from Chavez and Superwolf. They’re joined by Dirty Three drum legend Jim White and Ty Segall bassist Emmett Kelly.

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno joined Smashing Pumpkins onstage during the latter’s show at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday night (September 25th).
Moreno lent his vocals to the song “Jellybelly” from 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and the heavy groover was right in the singer’s wheelhouse.

As the band launched into the opening riffs, Chino pumped himself up by running back and forth across the stage while Billy Corgan took a step back to let his guest take lead vocals.
It takes a couple lines of the first verse before Chino hits his peak — he might have come in from the side-stage without a proper warmup — but he nailed the melody before too long, sounding perfect in Corgan’s register. One can easily imagine Deftones covering the track.
Corgan eventually joined in on vocals as the band steered the song to its breakdown finale,...
