Image
Ensuring the survival of the human species is the sole purpose of the Ark One mission. The sci-fi adventure is currently chronicled in two seasons, with Season 2 wrapping its run in October 2024. A hit original series for Syfy, the network went on to renew the series for a third season. A couple of months following its renewal, the series co-showrunner, Dean Devlin, has confirmed the Season 3 filming start window for the dystopian drama.

Despite its renewal in March, the production schedule for the coming season remained vague in the weeks that followed. While speaking in an interview with ScreenRant, Devlin revealed that The Ark Season 3 filming window. While speaking about The Librarians: The Next Chapter, another series on which he serves as a showrunner and executive producer,...

The Patriot Ending, Explained: Who Dies and Who Gets Married?
Image
The 2000 epic historical drama war film The Patriot, which was directed by Roland Emmerich, stars Mel Gibson as Benjamin Martin, a widowed veteran of the French and Indian war who struggles with raising seven children on a farm in 1778 South Carolina, against the backdrop of the encroaching American Revolutionary War. Benjamins initial opposition to engaging in war with the British puts Benjamin at odds with his eldest son, Gabriel, who is eager to join the fight.

The Patriot becomes a revenge mission movie in a fateful scene in which a British infantry army, led by the despicable Colonel William Tavington, invades the Martin homestead and proceeds to shoot and kill one of Benjamins sons, Thomas, before burning down the Martin home and taking Gabriel away. After the infantry rides away, Benjamin gathers his remaining sons and tracks the convoy holding Gabriel to a forest, where Benjamin and his sons shoot...

A Very Angry Guy Deep Down: Director Recalls Nervousness Working With Mel Gibson On $215M War Movie
Image
Roland Emmerich initially nervous working with Mel Gibson on The Patriot. Heath Ledger helped bridge the gap between Emmerich and Gibson. Gibson's career remains controversial due to a number of problematic comments.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Roland Emmerich explains his initial nervousness upon working with Mel Gibson on The Patriot. Emmerich was the director of the film, which starred Gibson as Benjamin Martin, a farmer who becomes a part of the Colonial Militia during the American Revolution. In addition to Gibson, The Patriot featured a leading cast including Heath Ledger, Joely Richardson, Jason Isaacs, Chris Cooper, Tcheky Karyo, Rene Aubjerjonois, Lisa Brenner, Tom Wilkinson, Donal Logue, and Leon Rippy.

Speaking with Collider at Sdcc, Emmerich explains his initial hesitation about working with Gibson. The director described Gibson as "a very angry guy deep down" making Emmerich "really, really nervous to shoot The Patriot." Emmerich also worried about crossing Gibson when...

All Rise (2019)
All Rise Teases Loss, Romance, and Return Cases in Final Season
All Rise (2019)
The final episodes are almost here. All Rise Season 4 premieres on Saturday, September 16, and they're bringing the drama.

OWN TV dropped the official season trailer, which teases loss, romance, returns, and riveting cases.

It’s hard to believe this is the end since we’ve grown to love these characters, but hopefully, OWN had enough time to craft a proper goodbye.

At the end of All Rise Season 3 Episode 10, Brandon Nation had caused senseless violence and possibly killed Ness and Teddy.

We’re still unsure if one or both of them die, but Lola is on the warpath to prevent more violence.

Lola’s marriage was also in jeopardy since Andre took advantage of her fear and kissed her, and Robin walked in at that moment.

Can she and Robin work things out and learn to communicate their needs better?

The other couples are finally flourishing. Luke and Emily finally...

David Tennant & Robert Sheehan in Official Trailer for 'Bad Samaritan'
"We don't have much time!" Electric Entertainment has unveiled the first official trailer for an indie action horror thriller titled Bad Samaritan, the latest film directed by producer/writer Dean Devlin. The film is about a pair of clever young thieves who rob the houses of rich people, but one day one of them winds up at a home where a woman is being held against her will. When he tries to call it in, the police find nothing, and he ends up in the sights of the kidnapper while trying to figure out how to save her. Robert Sheehan stars, along with David Tennant, Carlito Olivero, Kerry Condon, Lisa Brenner, Hannah Barefoot, and Jacqueline Byers. This looks fairly creepy, with Tennant giving a good subdued evil performance. I'm actually interested in seeing this, a slick psychological thriller about a lunatic almost like American Psycho. Here's the first official trailer...

Bad Samaritan Trailer: David Tennant Is the Wrong Man to Mess With
Electric Entertainment has released the first trailer and poster for their upcoming thriller Bad Samaritan, arriving in theaters March 30. This thriller marks the second feature directorial effort for Dean Devlin, who made his directorial debut last year with the big-budget action-thriller Geostorm. Bad Samaritan is quite scaled back in terms of scope, compared to Geostorm, but this intriguing thriller has a unique enough premise that it could make some waves in a crowded spring movie season.

The story centers on a valet named Sean (Robert Sheehan), who, along with his partner Derek (Carlito Olivero), develops a clever scam to burglarize the houses of rich customers. Things go smoothly until he robs the wrong customer (David Tennant), and discovers &#8239a woman being held captive in his home. &#8239 Afraid of going to prison, he leaves the woman there and makes a call to the police, who find nothing when they investigate. Now,...

Frenemy – DVD
DVD Review

Frenemy

Directed by: Gregory Dark

Cast: Matthew Modine, Callum Blue, Adam Baldwin, Lisa Brenner, Zach Galifianakis

Running Time: 1 hr 20 mins

Rating: R

Due Out: December 14, 2010

Plot: Two men wander around Los Angeles after surviving a bank robbery at a porn store while discussing the possibilities of destiny intervening with their traumatic moment.

Who’S It For? People who are dedicated to finishing an entire movie, even if it appears that nothing is happening for a large chunk of it (even if the movie is only seventy-six minutes long).

Movie:

Talk doesn’t have to be cheap. Thousands of films, (especially those by Tarantino, who is idealized here in both conversational topics and soundtrack), can have an audience fully on board just with walking and talking heads discussing anything. From Ingmar Bergman’s three-hour long Scenes From A Marriage to Kevin Smith’s Clerk’s 2, no one has to...

Finding Home
Lisa Brenner
Screened at the Hollywood International Film Festival

The suds are piled high in "Finding Home", a soggy melodrama from Clear Star Pictures about a young woman who takes a trip back to her childhood home in the hope of breaking the hold that her troubling past continues to have on her -- or something like that.

Directed with aching purpose by Lawrence David Foldes from a script he wrote with Grafton S. Harper, the lavish-looking but hackneyed memory play is small-screen fodder at best, but even in that medium there's still the matter of an all-too-deliberate two-hour running time.

Wide-eyed Lisa Brenner is the traveler in question -- a New York exec who's in mid-affair with her smarmy boss (Johnny Messner) when she gets the call that her estranged grandmother (Louise Fletcher in flashbacks) has died.

So Lisa returns to the idyllic bed-and-breakfast situated off the scenic coast of Maine where she grew up until she was abruptly whisked away by her cold, cold mother (Jeannetta Arnette).

Welcomed with open arms by her grandma's warm and nurturing best friend (Genevieve Bujold), Lisa soon discovers that every little sound or object triggers a flood of long-suppressed memories that will ultimately bring her face to face with some life-changing truths.

While Foldes and Harper are busy dredging "On Golden Pond" and "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood," cinematographer Jeffrey Seckendorf lays on the handsome visual appeal, but when combined with the wispy narration and all those digital collage-filled flashbacks, it ultimately plays like overworked Sirk.
