I don’t want to wait, for “Masked Singer” to be over/ I want to know right now, who will it be?

You’re in luck, Dawson. Revealed on Wednesday night’s edition of “The Masked Singer” were two eliminated celebrities: Singer Paula Cole, whose hits include “I Don’t Want to Wait” (used famously as the theme song for “Dawson’s Creek”), as well as “Black-ish” star Marsai Martin.

Cole was revealed to be the star under the Ship costume, while Martin was singing under the guise of the Woodpecker.

Panelist Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg figured out the Ship was Paula Cole. Ken Jeong though it was Alanis Morissette. Robin Thicke named Amy Lee from Evanescence. Rita Ora said it was Sarah McLachlan.

“I did not know about the show,” Cole told Variety.

The Masked Singer is back!

A new episode of the mystery celebrity singing competition aired on Wednesday night (Oct. 9) on Fox.

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season also features Ambassadors, who are all alums of the series, that have a special connection to each singer and will be providing major new clues about their friends’ identities.

During the episode, Buffaloes, Woodpecker, Showbird, and Ship hit the stage for their third performances of the season.

While on stage, Woodpecker performed “Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Tatyana Ali revealed the touching way that Will Smith commemorated the final season of their hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The popular sitcom aired between 1990 and 1996 with Will leading the cast. Tatyana played Ashley Banks, one of his onscreen cousin.

During a recent interview, Tatyana reflected on the tight bond that the cast shared. She even revealed the sweet gift that Will gave his costars when they returned to finish the series.

Amazingly, she still has parts of the present nearly two decades later.

Landing high-profile guest stars to populate the world of Quinta Brunson’s “Abbott Elementary” became considerably easier for casting director Wendy O’Brien, who won an Emmy in 2022, as the ABC comedy’s popularity skyrocketed in the last three years. But juggling the flurry of cameo requests for Season 3 came with its own set of unique challenges — one O’Brien welcomed.

“In Season 1, nobody knew who we were,” she said. “In Season 2, the pulse of the show kept getting bigger and wider. In Season 3, it was unbelievable the people who were pitched to me and, I can only imagine, to Quinta.”

Even with the increase in volume of phone calls coming into the casting department, the directive has largely remained the same since the series first began. “The cameos have to make sense so they aren’t there to be distracting,” O’Brien explained. “They still push the story forward and...

After three seasons, it should be easier to cast the kids of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” but Emmy-nominated casting director Wendy O’Brien says that the show’s popularity has made it tougher.

“It’s a struggle to find and vet young actors that don’t have a lot of experience. Especially when you’re talking about a kindergarten class,” admits O’Brien, who took home the gold two years ago for the same show.

While a 5-or 6-year-old might not have much acting experience under their belt, O’Brien says the upside to the series and its success is that she has seen an uptick in the number of kids being submitted for her consideration.

“A lot of them are auditioning in nice blue collared shirts, already in character. We’re definitely seeing more newcomers trying out,” she says.
