Disney icon shares how Tigger found his voice
Image
Even if you don't know who Jim Cummings is, you definitely know his voice. Cummings has been a professional voice actor for decades and has provided a legion of characters for the Walt Disney Company. Although Darkwing Duck and Bonkers D. Bobcat have their fans, there's a special place in all of our hearts for Tigger and Pooh.

Jim Cummings has been the voice of the willy-nilly-silly-old-bear since 1988's The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh animated series, but he wasn't Tigger until he took the reigns from his original performer, filling a pair of very big (and bouncy) shoes in the process.

Many of you animation buffs out there might be thrilled to know that Cummings has his own podcast where he and a few familiar guest stars from the animation and voice-acting community share experiences and stories. On a...

1 Forgotten and Wasted MCU Villain Was Planned to Make a Grand Return in Marvel’s Avengers Before It Was Canceled
Image
Marvel’s Avengers can be described as many things, but a successful game is not one of them, and the live service structure that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics went with is one of the culprits. Failing to achieve the same success as the live-action films from the MCU, the game had the potential to improve where the films lacked, but it turned out to be a major disappointment.

Marvel’s Avengers Could Have Utilized Ultron Better Than the MCU

James Spader made his first and last appearance as Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and a version of the character was teased in Marvel’s Avengers.

The game was originally conceived with the idea of constant updates and content support from developers and an overarching story meant to span multiple seasons. Ultron was meant to appear as a villain, and actor Jim Meskimen had already recorded dialogue before the untimely cancellation.

Agent Elvis Trailer: Time To Weaponize Rock N' Roll
Image
Eat your heart out, Austin Butler. As wild as Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" biopic got at certain points, it's safe to say it never quite managed to top the zaniness on display in "Agent Elvis," Netflix's new animated series that sees the King of Rock and Roll suit up to use his world-famous talents in a slightly different way. We've been following this oddity of a concept for quite some time now, with our first look at the adult-oriented and violent show last year promising the sort of alternate history mayhem that only animation can truly do justice to. Like a cross between "Archer," Hulu's "Hit-Monkey," and other similarly out-there premises, "Agent Elvis" promises to pack quite the punch.

The story sees Elvis secretly recruited by the government to maintain his wildly successful cover story as the legendary entertainer by day, while lending his services to protect his...

Although Warner Bros. Discovery has officially pulled the plug on release plans for “Scoob!: Holiday Haunt,” a followup to the 2020 animated film “Scoob!,” the film isn’t quite done with work yet. Producer Tony Cervone, who directed the first “Scoob!,” has revealed that the production is still recording the film’s score, despite the official cancellation.

On Saturday, Cervone shared a photo of his team working in a recording studio on Instagram.

“So what do you do when the movie is canceled, but you’ve already paid for the stage and the musicians?” Cervone wrote in the caption. “You record the damn score!”

Here’s Your First Look At Batman In Superman: Red Son Animated Movie
Now that Batman: Gotham by Gaslight has opened the door for various other Elseworlds tales to be adapted as animated films, Superman: Red Son will be the first to follow in its footsteps. To be quite honest, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise because the limited series written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Dave Johnson has long remained one of the most popular in the line, not to mention DC fans demanding this become a reality for years.

To briefly sum up what that story entailed for those unfamiliar, what you need to know going into your first viewing of the animated flick is that it explored that possibility of baby Kal-El’s rocket landing in Soviet Russia instead of in Smallville, Kansas. As you can imagine, the Comrade of Steel had a very different upbringing than the hero we’ve come to know otherwise.

Superman: Red Son Release Date, Trailer, Cast, and Details
Jim Dandy Kirsten Howard Feb 13, 2020

DC's animated movie adaptation of Superman: Red Son is almost here. Here's everything you need to know...

Superman: Red Son is the next iconic DC Comics story to get the animated feature treatment, and it's coming very, very soon!

Indeed, the 2003 comic miniseries from Mark Millar, Dave Johnson, and Killian Plunkett, which might just be the best known Elseworlds tale ever, is set land its animated movie in February, 2020.

The original story imagines a world where baby Kal-El's ship crashed in Ukraine instead of Kansas, and then Superman was raised as a Soviet superweapon. It features some of the sharpest Elseworlds design work ever done, adapting the entire Justice League into brutalist Soviet art styles. And it's one of those rare Millar books where the heart is bigger than the shock value of the story.

Review: Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Surprising to some, Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have some commonalities. After all, the half-shell heroes were initially created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as a parody of Frank Miller’s work on Daredevil, before coming to DC and turning his talents to The Dark Knight. Both properties work best in the shadows and had the producers of this animated adventure leaned into that, this could have been a cut above an obvious cash grab.

The participants have met before, in three miniseries from DC Comics and Idw in addition to one strictly set in their “Adventures” incarnations, aimed more at all-ages readers. Now, we have Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a briskly paced story. It’s not bad, but boy, it could have been so much more had anyone made an effort.

The versus portion of the story is the most obvious bit of fan...

The all-star cast of Batman vs. Tmnt is led by Troy Baker as the voice of both Batman and the Joker – making Baker the first actor to ever play both roles in the same film. Opposite Baker are the Ninja Turtles themselves – Emmy Award/Golden Globe Award/SAG Award winner Darren Criss as Raphael, Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live) as Michelangelo, Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie) as Donatello,...

We recently learned that the classic DC comic Batman: The Long Halloween is going to be getting a two-part animated film from Warner Bros. Animation. Well, now another classic DC comic story is reportedly in development.

According to Revenge of the Fans, DC is developing an animated adaptation of Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son. This is another DC Comics story that fans have been wanting to see adapted for a long time. I’m not sure why it took so long, but at least it’s happening now!

For those of you unfamiliar with Red Son, it’s an Elseworld story that puts an interesting twist on the Superman mythology… what if Superman crash-landed in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas?

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Imagine a reality where the world’s most powerful super-being does not grow up in Smallville, Kansas – or even America, for that matter…...

Review: Constantine: City of Demons
John Constantine, done right, is one of DC Comics’ strongest characters. The current incarnation in the Rebirth universe is a pale comparison to his Vertigo roots and the NBC series didn’t push the horrific elements far enough. Matt Ryan’s wonderful interpretation has been further watered down for the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, so hearing him in all his weary glory in Constantine: City of Demons is most welcome.

This is one of the best animated adaptations of a comic book character, thanks to letting it be an R-rated film ensuring the horror/supernatural elements were true to the source material and not just curse words tossed in for “authenticity”. Kudos to J.M. DeMatteis for bringing Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette, and John Totleben’s character to proper life. His original script loosely adapts Hellblazer: All His Engines graphic novel by Mike Carey and Leonardo Manco.

Constantine: City of Demons Review: A Gripping, Twisted Tale of the Occult
Warner Bros. Animation finally delivers a full throttle R-rated feature. Constantine: City of Demons is a dark, twisted, and incredibly violent tale of the occult. It is a ninety-minute feature film based and compiled from the CW Seed streaming series. John Constantine, the supernatural detective also known as "The Hellblazer", first took center stage in last year's Justice League Dark. I dug the character, but got lost in the weeds of the overly complex plot. Constantine: City of Demons is much easier to follow and vastly more entertaining. The character flies solo in a gripping, bloody mystery.

Constantine's (Matt Ryan) psyche is plagued by demonic manifestations of a past failure. He's awakened from his boozy torment by an urgent visitor. Chas Chandler (Damien O' Hare), Constantine's childhood best friend and former bandmate, desperately needs his help. His daughter Trish has fallen into a mysterious coma. The doctors fear she is brain dead,...

‘Constantine: City of Demons’ Is Being Resurrected For In-Home Release
Constantine has had his problems when it comes to bringing the character from the pages to the big screen. The character was brought to the big screen in a not-so-comic book accurate film in 2005 when he was portrayed by Keanu Reeves. He then had his own live-action series in 2014 which only lasted a season. Yet, fans still love him all the same. So much so that the character has been revived in comic book fashion and has appeared in the CW Arrow-verse throughout the past two years. Now the character is back in a dual-release of Constantine: City of Demons. Get all the details below.

From executive producers David S. Gover and Greg Berlanti, The Hellblazer is back in an all-new twisted tale of mystery, intrigue and the occult with Constantine: City of Demons, a full-length, R-rated feature film based on the acclaimed DC animated series from CW Seed. Constantine: City of Demons Trailer Takes the Detective Straight to Hell
Matt Ryan
Matt Ryan is back as John Constantine in the first trailer for Constantine: City of Demons. Ryan originally played the character in the short-lived live-action series based on the DC Comics character. However, he's found his way back to the role several times, most recently becoming a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow. Now, he's got his very own, R-rated, animated movie, which looks weird, dark and fun.

This tale has been produced in a dual format. The story was initially released as animated shorts, the first five of which appeared on CW Seed. With a runtime of 90 minutes, the feature-length Constantine: City of Demons movie has over an hour of never-before-seen content, including the climax. So, while not everything featured here will be new, there is plenty in store for fans to enjoy.

In Constantine: City of Demons, a decade after a tragic mistake, family man Chas and occult...

Marion Ross Reveals She and 'Happy Days' Co-Star Tom Bosley Didn't Get Along at First
On-screen, they were happily married Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham. But off-screen, Happy Days co-stars Marion Ross and Tom Bosley's relationship was tense at first. The two surprisingly didn't click "for a couple of years," Marion revealed to Megyn Kelly during an appearance on the Today show on Tuesday, April 3. "Either Tom Bosley had somebody else in mind right at the beginning... but I had a very small part at the beginning. My lines were like, ‘Oh, Howard,’ ‘Oh, children, you’re not eating,'" the 89-year-old actress explained. After the early seaons passed, however, Marion was able to learn how to get along with Tom. "So we had to work our way through that. Because I learned to love him, I loved him and we became very close friends," she added of her on-screen husband, who passed away in 2010. They went on to star side-by-side together for 11 seasons on the beloved sitcom.

Marion Ross on Her Hard Road to 'Happy Days' — "Nothing Can Stop Me" (Exclusive)
Despite a 65-year career in show business, Happy Days star Marion Ross didn't want to write her memoir. "I have prided myself on living such a nice, careful life," she exclusively tells Closer Weekly. "It's not very dramatic." But when her son, Jim Meskimen, urged her, she began recalling lots of stories, like the time she made Cary Grant cry on the set of 1959's Operation Petticoat. "One morning Cary sat down beside me," she says. "I said, 'I don't think I should go down in the submarine because I am going to have a baby. I'm two months pregnant!' He started to cry and it was a wonderful moment between Cary and me. At that point, he never had a child [but always wanted one]. Years later, he had Jennifer." Marion on Happy Days. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Most people know Marion, 89, from her 10 years playing Mrs. Cunningham on Happy Days. Now...

Let's face it: we'll never actually be in the same room as Sir Ian McKellan reading this poem, so this will probably be the closest we ever get.

Watch: Actor Absolutely Nails These Hilarious Celebrity Nano-Impressions
Looks like Vanity Fair has a lock on excellent celebrity nano-impression videos. They released two videos of The Walking Dead's Ross Marquand doing some killer ones a little while back, and now they're at it again, this time with actor Jim Meskimen. I didn't recognize the actor's name, but take a look at his list of credits — the dude's been in a little bit of everything over the past twenty-plus years.

He nails a very high percentage of these impressions — the only one I didn't think was completely spot-on was Morgan Freeman, but other than that, these are very impressive. What do you think?

Robert De Niro at an event for A Single Man (2009)
With Dirty Grandpa, we may have officially reached the point where a Robert De Niro impression is guaranteed to be more enjoyable than a Robert De Niro performance. If the man behind Travis Bickle, Jake La Motta and young Vito Corleone isn't quite as common a target as Christopher Walken or Al Pacino, that's only because he's a little bit harder to get right (watch the...

SoulPancake’s First TV-Length Sitcom Spotlights ‘The Impression Guys’
My Damn Channel isn't the only online video hub dabbling in TV-length production. Rainn Wilson's YouTube channel is the home of The Impression Guys, a half-hour sitcom about a pair of celebrity impressionists who don't want to do impressions anymore. The two stars of The Impression Guys are Jim Meskimen and Ross Marquand, who play fictionalized versions of themselves. True to life, Meskimen portrays a veteran impressionist who acts as mentor to Marquand, a younger actor best known for a single video. In the first episode, Jim and Ross unveil their 12 step plan through which they will transition from impressionists to serious dramatic actors. The Impression Guys is written and directed by Ben Shelton, who has previously worked on SoulPancake projects like The Flip Side. Shelton's script is a strong one, though it's at its best when Meskimen and Marquand are given room to chatter back and forth. Of course,...
