Following a bathtub fall while on vacation in Mexico, she passed away later in Los Angeles from pneumonia and respiratory failure on July 4, 1995.

Her paternal grandparents were Salamon Grün and Rozália Kluger. Her maternal grandparents, originally from Ukraine, were Jóná Hersch Tilleman and Chawe Feige Reinharz.

Married and divorced five times. Her first husband, Dr. Erik Drimmer, was Greta Garbo's osteopath.

Following her death, she was interred near Les arpents verts (1965) co-star Eddie Albert at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetary in Los Angeles, California. Lot #306. The epitaph on her grave reads: "Our darling Eva. We love you. You are in our hearts forever.".

She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television at 6614 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, CA on October 23, 1984.

Daughter of Jolie Gabor. Younger sister of Magda Gabor and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Aunt of Francesca Hilton and ex-step-grandaunt of Paris Hilton and Nicky Rothschild.

Her niece, Francesca Hilton, died at age 67 of a massive stroke on January 5, 2015. She was cremated and her ashes were interred beside her at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.

Although she was married five times, Eva is last on the marriage list compared to her sisters Magda (six times) and Zsa Zsa (nine times).

She was the youngest and blondest of the 3 Gabor sisters and the first to become a professional actress.

Had two stepdaughters, Mary and Joanne, from her marriage to Dick Brown.

Her name was pronounced Ava.

She went to America about 1950 and still speaks in fractured English.

She was a first cousin, once removed, of Annette Lantos (born Tilleman), the wife of U.S. Congressman Tom Lantos, of California. Her mother and Annette were first cousins.

She has appeared in two films that have been selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant: La Soif du mal (1958) & Gigi (1958).
