"Outside of us, no one knows what happened... Right?" Sony Pictures has debuted a second official trailer for 2025 horror reboot I Know What You Did Last Summer, more of a horror remake / legacy sequel bringing back the original cast from the classic 90s horror movie again. The first I Know What You Did Last Summer opened in 1997 and was a huge hit in the 90s, resulting in two sequels: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (the next year in 1998) and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (a direct-to-video sequel in 2006). This next one connects back to the Southport, North Carolina accident from the first movie. A group of friends are terrorized by a stalker who knows about a gruesome incident from their past. Starring Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers (also in Him), Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung,...

We are but one month away from the arrival of Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer and the hook-handed gods have shined down mercifully upon us with a fresh trailer. The only other official teaser came out months ago, in April, so we’re beyond grateful to witness more of the undoubtable greatness that will come when the film slashes into cinemas on July 18. Featuring the return of the franchise's final couple — Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Julie James and Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Ray Bronson — the trailer sees the past and present collide on a brutally graphic scale.
The new film appears to be leaning more into a Scream-like whodunnit than the two (kind of three) titles that came before it decades ago. In the original movie, filmmaker Jim Gillespie and writer, Kevin Williamson, took audiences on a deranged journey featuring some of the hottest young names of the time.

"People mess up. Then they just drift away..." Paramount Movies has revealed the full official trailer for Trust, a survival thriller from actress / filmmaker Carlson Young. This movie is set for release in August in theaters later this summer. This is another generic title for a movie - not to be confused with the 2010 web thriller Trust, or the 2018 TV series also titled Trust, or any other thriller movie about trust. Described as a "cat-and-mouse feature", this psychological survival thriller features Sophie Turner as a young Hollywood starlet who escapes to a remote cabin after a sex scandal in town. Betrayed, she hopes to hide out there, but ends up trapped in a "brutal game of survival" by some home invasion guests. It also co-stars Rhys Coiro, Billy Campbell, Peter Mensah, Forrest Goodluck, Gianni Paolo, Renata Vaca, and Katey Sagal. So is it all in her head or all of these people real?...

Hopes for a revival of the classic hero have been seemingly been dashed as actor, director, and producer David Oyelowo recently shed light on the uncertain fate of Disney+'s Return of the Rocketeer.
Speaking with the LA Times, Oyelowo indicated that the sequel/reboot is one of several productions facing cancellation, attributing the decision to a changing industry landscape where Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Dei) are reportedly no longer a focus in the changing political and social landscape.
Oyelowo, who was set to executive produce and star in the revival, stated, "We gained traction with that project in the wake of the George Floyd murder and in a moment where there was a cultural correction and people seemed to want to do better. But now we’re in a moment where it’s evident that a lot of that was performative and not bone-deep. Projects like that suddenly become challenged.

When it comes to directing, some filmmakers can tend to be aggressive and demanding when extracting the performances they need from the actors, one example being William Friedkin’s approach in The Exorcist. Many filmmakers also prefer to swing in the complete opposite direction by prioritizing the atmosphere on set, with Greta Gerwig being one prime example.

I Know What You Did Last Summer director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson teases the Fisherman's updated arsenal of weapons in the upcoming reboot. Almost 30 years after the original horror movie, the upcoming legacy sequel is set to feature the return of both Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Ray Bronson, this time as allies to a new group of friends who become the targets of the Fisherman after a gruesome incident in their past. As seen in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer trailer, the iconic slasher villain hasn't lost his edge.
In a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting, Robinson reveals that the Fisherman will be hunting his victims in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer with some new gear at hand. According to the director, the killer has access to an array of various nautical-themed weapons, and that means no character will be safe.

David Oyelowo has been chatting about The Rocketeer 2, which has been abandoned. Current shifts in Dei are said to be at the heart of why.
David Oyelowo has been chatting about the status of his planned sequel to The Rocketeer, the Disney action adventure favourite that has gained a loyal following in the years since its 1991 release.
We first learned that Oyelowo was attached to produce and star in a Rocketeer sequel back in 2021, with plans for him to play a ‘retired Tuskegee airman who takes up the mantle of the Rocketeer’. No director was announced but the news was certainly welcomed.
Fast-forward to 2023 and Oyelowo told TheWrap that “we have forward momentum,” but here we are in 2025 and unfortunately, from the outside looking in, little forward movement on the project seems to have been achieved.

There’s a new sequel to the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) and its 1998 follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one Here) coming our way from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge), aiming for a July 18 theatrical release. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played heroine Julie James in the first two films, and Freddie Prinze Jr., who was Julie’s boyfriend Ray Bronson in those films, are reprising their roles – and they’re going to be facing off with a new “Fisherman” killer. Today, our friends at Bloody Disgusting shared an image of the Fisherman in the film, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.

Did Jeniifer Lopez injure Billy Campbell’s ribs? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Back in the early 2000s, Lopez took Hollywood by storm, headlining more than 10 films, including Enough in 2002. In the thriller, she played Slim, a charming server who married a wealthy customer, only to discover the dark side of their relationship. Opposite her, Billy Campbell stepped in as Mitch, the husband Slim eventually had to fight tooth and nail to escape. And those action scenes were just as intense behind the scenes as they looked on screen.
Campbell himself confirmed it during a red carpet interview. Describing their final clash, he said, “Hammering each other! I have to say that she got the better of me. I bruised her arm — I’m pretty sure about that. And I know for a fact she bruised my ribs. She may have separated them.” No wonder he still sounded a little in awe.

The maniacal fisherman may be out for blood in Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, but Freddie Prinze Jr. is out here to slay. Included in the lineup of first-look images for this summer at the cinema, USA Today snatched a new look at the actor’s return to the slasher franchise, which sees him reprise a role from nearly three decades ago. And — spoiler alert — he’s just as much of a babe as ever, quite like his co-star, Jennifer Love Hewitt, who will also go face-to-face with the brutal killer once again in Robinson’s upcoming flick.
The image in question features Prinze Jr.’s Ray Bronson, standing alongside newcomers Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), and Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), each of whom find themselves in deep, dark, and (to them) uncharted waters in the legacy sequel. The...

No, Sarah Michelle Gellar isn’t returning this summer for the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” reboot. Why? Because her iconic character Helen Shivers is “the most dead a person could be.” To be fair, she did have the most memorable kill scene in the 1997 original film…
But that didn’t stop “I Know What You Did Last Summer” reboot director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson from gently “harassing” Gellar to reconsider returning to the franchise. Robinson previously worked with Gellar on the 2022 Netflix film “Do Revenge,” and the duo have remained close since.
Robinson told Entertainment Weekly that, while original franchise stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are returning for the horror sequel, Gellar had to turn down reprising her role. “I tried, Ok? Despite her best efforts, writer-director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson couldn’t bring Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Helen Shivers back to life for the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” reboot.
In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Robinson said she “tried relentlessly” to fit Gellar into the new “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” Her efforts were for naught, however, because Robinson could not maneuver around the fact that Helen Shivers “is dead.”
“I tried, okay? I harassed her! But she is dead,” Robinson said. “I tried to pitch some crazy shit too. You can see my frozen body.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, but what if?’ And she said, ‘I am dead.
