He was not only in Blanches colombes et vilains messieurs (1955), but also directed and starred in the national touring company as Nathan Detroit opposite Betty Grable. He was also known for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (as replacement for Zero Mostel), later joining the national touring company as director and star.
