Amy Yip

The Raymond Chow And Golden Harvest Era (Part 2)
(1981-1989 – The Three Dragons)

After the early 1980’s, Golden Harvest started to branch out into the modern-day world leaving behind the Kung Fu cinema age and progressing into something massive. From 1981 onwards, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao (The Three Dragons) were about to embark on a sensational journey, progressing from there Kung Fu genre into modern-day Martial Arts and stunt work, something Shaw Brothers were left behind and Golden Harvest was to be the new global company.

Jackie Chan back then headed to the United states to try to break into the international market, but the movies he appeared in didn’t really take off and Jackie was also disappointed with the filming of The Big Brawl. Jackie felt he never had chance to show off his action choreography and wasn’t given the space to add his world of experience to the movie. Although it was Directed...

In a Nutshell: Robotrix
They don't make them like this anymore. UK audiences have a lot to look forward to in Jamie Luk's 1991 action thriller, Robotrix (Nu ji xie ren). That would be Amy Yip for the most part, probably the most famous Hong Kong Category III actress in history, despite the fact she hasn't made a film since 1997, when she quit the industry to get married. Famed for her tiny, slim body and large implanted breasts, Amy Yip is certainly a sight to behold. Don't get too excited though, the famed 'Yip-Tease' is well known in Hong Kong movie circles, which means you might have to focus on other aspects of the movie if you want to get your fill. Selena (Chikako Aoyama) is a cop shot during a kidnapping. To keep her personality alive, computer expert Dr Sara (Siu-dan Hui) transfers her memory to an advanced robot. Paired with another android,...

‘Robotrix’ DVD Review
Stars: Amy Yip, Chikako Aoyama, David Wu, Billy Chow, Ken Goodman, Wing-hin Ho | Written by Jamie Luk, Siu Man Sing | Directed by Jamie Luk

After watching Robotrix it’s not shock to me that this film was released in 1991, if anything could be described as the remnants of the creativity of movies like Robocop and The Terminator. There is no hiding the fact that the movie is softcore porn and could lovingly hug the word sexploitation, because this is a perfect example of it though surprisingly an example that actually works.

Robotrix is somewhat crazy in nature, and some would say that is a description of the acting, or lack of it. The story or lack of it revolves around a mad scientist who transfers his mind into a robot, then kidnaps the son of a foreign king. The robot then proceeds to make his way through the city murdering...

Part machine. Mostly breasts. Amy Yip is Robotrix
They don't make them like this anymore. U.K. audiences have a lot to look forward to in Jamie Luk's 1991 action thriller, Robotrix (Nu ji xie ren). That would be Amy Yip for the most part, probably the most famous Hong Kong Category III actress in history, despite the fact she hasn't made a film since 1997, when she quit the industry to get married. Don't get too excited though, the famed 'Yip-Tease' is well known in Hong Kong movie circles, which means you might have to focus on other aspects of the movie if you want to get your fill. It's low budget, it's action packed and it's probably cheesy as hell, so we can't wait to get our hands on a copy when it's released on October 28th 2013 courtesy of Medium Rare Entertainment.

Operation Condor: Armour Of God II (1991)

Global adventurer Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan) comes to Europe in search of the ‘Armour of God’, a magical relic from the Crusades. He hopes he can use it to bargain for the freedom of his girlfriend from a deadly cult. With his trusty companion (Andy Tam) by his side, his quest takes him from one perilous adventure to another. Directed by Jackie Chain himself, who performed all his own stunts, it was regarded as one of the most expensive films at the time. The third instalment of the Armour of God adventures,...

Watch Out!: Sex and Zen (1991)
When it comes to sex comedies, I've yet to see one that tops Sex and Zen in terms of taking sexual gags to such an absurd level. In the mid 80's to early 90's, when laughter and titillation were stirred together in America in the form of horny teens (a tradition still carried on to this day thanks to the undying American Pie franchise), Hong Kong had a booming industry mixing softcore eroticism and wuxia in a light, jesting fashion. Sex and Zen, now a cult hit in all the right circles, is one of the more famous and enduring ones—deservedly so.

It's not enough that the sex scenes are arousing, as often the case with regular softcore outputs; Sex and Zen makes sure to have each of them be so creative in their execution that they entertain with as much showmanship as they would display in a true martial arts choreography.

Oh My! 3D Sex And Zen in the Works
Hong Kong producer and chairman of One Dollar Production Stephen Shiu Jr. is taking the motto of sex sells to the next dimension by working on what he billed as the “world’s first 3D sex film” in attempt to lure people back to the theaters. Its a sequel to his father’s produced Sex and Zen (1991), the highest grossing Category III erotica that instantly turn the voluptuous Amy Yip into the leading sex symbol at the time. With a budget of 30 million-Hong Kong dollar (4 million Us), Shui says 3D Sex and Zen will feature special effects to make the love scenes as realistic as possible.

“Just imagine that you’ll be watching it as if you were sitting beside the bed.”

The film is based loosely on the 17th century Chinese erotic classic “The Carnal Prayer Mat,” a tale about how overindulgence in pleasure can lead to tragedy.

Shiu...
