  • Following the death of their own mother ("Mom always liked you best!"), the Smothers Brothers chose Anne Ramsey to receive the flowers and honors on their Mothers' Day show.
  • She is one of three people to whom the movie Fantômes en fête (1988) was dedicated.
  • She was awarded the 1986 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in Les Goonies (1985), and the 1988 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in Balance maman hors du train (1987). In both movies, she played overbearing mothers.
  • Though she often played mean old ladies in real life was well known to be a very sweet person.
  • Though she played the elderly mother of Danny DeVito's character Owen Lift in Balance maman hors du train (1987), Ms. Ramsey was actually just 15 years older than DeVito. She passed away six months after receiving her Academy Award nomination for the movie.
  • Daughter of a successful insurance executive and his Pilgrim-descendant wife, she attended exclusive schools in Connecticut and made her debut the same season as Jacqueline Bouvier, the future Mrs. John F. Kennedy.
  • She appeared with her husband, actor Logan Ramsey in eight films: The Sporting Club (1971), La loi (1974), Blind Ambition (1979), Ça va cogner... (1980), Drôle d'alliance (1986), Fantômes en fête (1988), Doctor Hackenstein (1988), and Meet the Hollowheads (1989).
  • Following her death, she was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
  • Daughter-in-law of Lieutenant Commander Logan Ramsey.
  • Has never appeared in a film nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
