In the indie, set on the icy shores of Cape Cod, renowned exposé journalist Ethan Everett (Flynn) arrives at the empty luxury resort, Notre Joie, for a career-saving interview. But the off-season staff and guests — including the beguiling owner Vera (Perkins), unsettling manager Oliver (Knight), and charming drifter Johnny (Powers) — draw Ethan into a surreal maze of guilt, secrets, and waking nightmares that forces Ethan to confront horrors far greater than any story he’s ever uncovered. Inspired by classics like The Shining and Mulholland Drive, the film unravels a story of guilt, deception, and how far we’ll go to outrun the past.

Simona Paparelli Wolf is producing under Sorry, Mom Pictures, alongside Powers for R U Mad At Me Productions and Emmy nominee Jason B. Stamey, who also served as casting director.

Known for roles in 13 Reasons Why, the Max horror-comedy The Parenting, Apple’s Manhunt, Hulu’s 2022 reboot of Hellraiser and more, Flynn is repped by Paradigm, Untitled and Schreck Rose Dapello.

A three-time Emmy nominee known for roles in Weeds, Sharp Objects and the like, Perkins has most recently been seen in Prime Video’s Another Simple Favor as well as series like Minx, The Afterparty, and The Morning Show. She is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Knight is an Emmy nominee known for his role of Dr. George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy who has also recently been seen on shows like The Flight Attendant and Genius. He is repped by Buchwald, Authentic Talent and Literary Management, and Paul Hastings.

Powers’ credits include She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, The Madalorian, The Nice Guys, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to name just a few. He is repped by Atlanta Models and Talent.

A Television Academy Honoree and GLAAD Award winner, Bredeweg is best known for co-creating and showrunning The Fosters and its spinoff Good Trouble for Freeform and Hulu, as well as producing hit Broadway revivals and originals including Dear Evan Hansen, Moulin Rouge, Green Day’s American Idiot and the recent Scissorhandz on the West End. He is currently writing and directing a new Pat Benatar musical to premiere in New York City in 2026 and as a director, developed Life From the Other Side, a feature penned by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Paul Schrader. He is repped by Untitled, UTA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Twenty twenty-five is shaping up to be the year of the unexpected sequel. Ben Affleck has already dusted off his reading glasses for The Accountant 2, and the Four Horseman are about to take the stage again in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. But first, behold Another Simple Favor, a perfectly pleasant, if unnecessary, follow-up to 2018’s A Simple Favor. There has never been a better time to be a semi-forgotten film from the 2010s.

Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), after solving the disappearance and re-appearance of her former Bff, Emily Neslon (Blake Lively), in the first film, went from small-time Momfluencer to true-crime star. In the sequel, Stephanie learns that Emily is about to head off to Capri to marry her dashing new mafioso fiancé, Dante (Michele Morrone), which is surprising since Emily ended the prior film in prison for a variety of charges ranging from insurance fraud to fratricide.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal drama has been no secret since news broke of the suit that Lively filed against her It Ends with Usco-star and director in late December 2024. While the Gossip Girl star has appeared publicly, she has not sat down for a television interview since the drama began. Per Entertainment Weekly, Lively recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and addressed her “intense year.”

“This year has been full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life,” Lively said. She was appearing on the late-night talk show to promote her newest film, Another Simple Favor. While Lively did not directly address the legal drama with Baldoni she did talk about how important it is for women to speak out about their experiences.

Review: A Simple Favor was a surprisingly effective potboiler, anchored by two ace performances from Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Plus, it had snappy direction from Paul Feig and a tight script that somehow managed to take some vast cliches and make them feel fresh. As such, the only thing surprising about a sequel being made is that Amazon’s opting to premiere this on streaming, despite Lively’s last movie making $300 million worldwide – controversy be damned.

Can only one episode win a performer an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie? With only four episodes, “Adolescence” is running the Limited Series conversation much in the same way fellow British Netflix series “Baby Reindeer” did last year.

Mark Measures, owner and president of talent agency Kmr, was arraigned in the Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday after allegedly stealing money from the clients he represented.

Measures is alleged to have stolen $1.8 million from 160 actors based in New York and about $26,000 from six employees between June 2021 and March 2024. He was arraigned Tuesday as part of a 40-count indictment, which included one count of scheme to defraud in the first degree, three counts of grand larceny in the second degree, 28 counts of grand larceny in the third degree, five counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree and three counts of petit larceny.

Measures pleaded not guilty.

Measures represented clients including Elizabeth Perkins and Merrin Dungey on their voicework, and was a talent agent for clients including the late Wink Martindale and Meredith Monroe.

In court, prosecutors claimed that Measures “raided” the escrow account in which the agency kept their clients’ earnings.
