Despite her issues with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie fondly remembers their film together and ranks it as one of her favorite movies. Jolie and Pitt shared impeccable chemistry when they were paired together in the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The chemistry eventually transitioned into a full-blown romance.
This relationship, however, caused a prominent scandal after Angelina Jolie was accused of causing Pitt and Jennifer Aniston to split. The former couple played a married couple who are secretly assassins belonging to competing agencies. Things go wrong between them when they are assigned to kill each other.
According to RadarOnline, Jolie not only had the film as one of her favorites but also spoke about how it brought her together with Pitt in real life. She shared that starting a proper relationship with Pitt came as a surprise to her, as she believed that she would always be a single mom.

No, we are not talking about Robert Downey Jr.’s movies or Benedict Cumberbatch’s acclaimed series. The show in question is Elementary — a critically acclaimed yet often-overlooked reimagining of Sherlock Holmes. Read on to find out what it’s about and where to stream it in India.

You can’t keep a good serial killer down — especially not when there’s IP to exploit.
Dexter Morgan is set to return (again) in Dexter: Resurrection, despite being definitively killed off in New Blood and then casually voiceover-resurrected in Original Sin (a show I loved).
But before Showtime unpacks another bloody chapter, we took a trip down memory lane. And let’s just say… wow. The things we overlooked the first time around? Absolutely unhinged.
(Showtime/Screenshot)
Dexter is poised for yet another chapter. And frankly, it’s the perfect time to revisit the madness that got us here.
While rewatching the series, I noticed just how many moments — big, small, and plastic-wrapped — have aged into either brilliant nuance or total unhinged chaos.
From bizarre kill rituals to forgotten guest stars, these are the 37 things living rent-free in my head.

Danny Boyle "wouldn’t be able to make" Slumdog Millionaire today. The 68-year-old filmmaker helmed the 2008 drama movie - which told the story of 18-year-old Jamal Malik from the Juhu slums of Mumbai - but Danny believes the acclaimed film was of its time and that the world has now moved on.He told the Guardian newspaper: "Yeah, we wouldn’t be able to make that now. And that’s how it should be. It’s time to reflect on all that. We have to look at the cultural baggage we carry and the mark that we’ve left on the world."The film - which starred Dev Patel and Freida Pinto - won a number of awards at the time, including seven BAFTA Awards and four Golden Globes. However, it received mixed reviews in India.Asked if the movie amounted to a form of colonialism, Danny replied: "No, no.

Watson is far from the first TV show to explore the iconic characters of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with a modern twist. In fact, it’s not even the first one on CBS. Before the current drama, returning in 2026 for its second season, starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, Elementary starred Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson, respectively. Craig Sweeny, who created Watson, was an executive producer on Elementary. So could there ever be any type of crossover, even if it’s just casting, between the two? Morris Chestnut is all for Lucy Liu appearing on Watson. “I’m trying to track her down and get her to come on our show because, yes, that would be great if we could get her,” he told Deadline. Since we doubt she’d appear as Joan (but how great would it be if she did?...

Danny Boyle never thought Trainspotting would transform his career. The 68-year-old director helmed the 1996 drama film - which starred the likes of Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle - but Danny never imagined that the movie would become such a huge success.Asked if he expected the film to kick-start his career, Danny told The Hollywood Reporter: "No. Absolutely not. "In fact, I remember there was a wave of disapproval of it building. They had shown a trailer or something on one of the TV movie shows here. And one of the prestigious critics said, 'Well, that looks shockingly irresponsible about drugs.' Things like that were building. "And then there was this journalist, Muriel Gray, and she wrote this piece about Irvine’s [Welsh] book, and about the film. She spoke with authority saying, 'You do not know what you are talking about,' all these people...

Watson star Morris Chestnut recently shared his hopes for Elementary's Lucy Liu to make an appearance on his Sherlock Holmes show. While the shows are currently unrelated, their creative teams do have some overlap.
Per Deadline, Chestnut talked about wanting to 'track down' Liu to get her to appear on his show. Watson was created by Craig Sweeney, who also executive produced Elementary, where Liu starred as Dr. Joan Watson. "I'm trying to track her down and get her to come on our show because, yes, that would be great if we could get her," Chestnut said. He added that there are no talks with Liu, but he is "serious" about trying to have her appear in CBS's latest adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Chestnut is also an executive producer for the series.
Watson premiered on CBS in January, putting a medical drama twist on the usual Sherlock Holmes-style mysteries.

TV has tackled Sherlock Holmes many times over the years, most recently with the BBC’s Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and the long-running Elementary (Jonny Lee Miller). Currently, there’s Watson with the good doctor as the main character (played by Morris Chestnut) and a missing Holmes (voiced by Matt Berry in a hallucination). Lifelong Sherlock Holmes devotee executive producer Brendan Foley joins the crowd with his new show about the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock & Daughter. In this take, the executive producer wanted it to be set in foggy Victorian London for canon fans, while inviting newcomers in with the introduction of Amelia Rojas (a feisty Blu Hunt), an independent and determined young American woman. “Amelia crashes into the life of Holmes [a perfectly cast prickly David Thewlis, who, like Foley, is a major Holmes fan] like a meteorite,” says Foley. She announces he’s her father and insisting that he investigate the...

Elementary was an underrated Sherlock Holmes series set in modern times. Jonny Lee Miller's Holmes was a recovering opioid addict who worked closely with Liu's Watson, who was the first female version of Holmes' famous assistant. Together, the two assisted the police department in solving difficult cases that the cops could not crack on their own.
There have been several other adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes novels, most notably the BBC's Sherlock. However, Elementary was better than Sherlock in many respects, most notably that it humanized Holmes more than any other adaptation has done. Rather than being a genius who is hard to relate to, Miller's Holmes had serious character flaws as well as strengths, which made Elementary a more interesting and relatable series.

Hackers is one of the most underrated movies of the 1990s, and while it is popular with audiences, its Rotten Tomatoes score is surprisingly low. Hackers was not an immediate success, but it has become a cult hit over time. Many of the best-known 1990s movies contain a cast that was already famous at the time, but Hackers is unusual as it features several early-career appearances of actors who went on to become major stars. Hackers is often considered one of Angelia Jolie's best 1990s movies and also stars Jonny Lee Miller, Laurence Mason, and Matthew Lillard.
Hackers is about a group of high school students who use their tech skills to stop an evil corporation from taking over the world using a computer virus. The following article discusses fictional violence and sexual assault
From its thrilling highs to its confusing lows, "Dexter" remained one of the most arresting shows on television throughout its eight-season run thanks almost entirely to the colorful cast of serial killers that populated its fictional version of Miami, Florida. It's strange that the world of "Dexter" has not only concentrated several dozen of the strangest criminals to ever exist into one city but has multiple killers there who almost double the body count of the most deadly serial killer the country has ever seen.
To understand how wild the characters of "Dexter" truly were, we've gone over all eight seasons of the show's original run and its sequel miniseries, "Dexter: New Blood," to rank the top 10 deadliest serial killers to appear on the show. This includes all of its most dangerous and memorable characters, from those sociopaths who took lives...

Angelina Jolie has always been known for her bold choices, both in her personal life and her career. Before her much-publicized relationship with Brad Pitt, she was married to Billy Bob Thornton, a singer-songwriter and actor. Their relationship, which began in the early 2000s, stood out because of its unique and unconventional expressions of love. This included matching tattoos and even wearing vials of each other’s blood as necklaces.

However, their whirlwind romance came to an end in 2003, just three years after their marriage. Among the remnants of their intense relationship was a tattoo on Jolie’s body that included Thornton’s name. Many wonder if getting a tattoo for love is worth the trouble, especially if the love fades.

Watson looks like it's going to be a fantastic mix of genres for CBS and here's what to know about it!
There have been scores of TV shows based on Sherlock Holmes, including CBS's own Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller as a modern version of the iconic detective. This take was interesting with Lucy Liu as Joan Watson, a very capable assistant to Sherlock and a good detective in her own right.
Now, CBS is going back to the well with the upcoming Watson which looks like an interesting mix of the Holmes mythos and the Fox series House (which makes sense as Holmes inspired that). The first trailer hints at the great mixing of medical and crime drama that should make this a standout show!
What is Watson about?
The show takes place months after the apparent death of Sherlock Holmes as John Watson (Morris Chestnut) is still in mourning.

Sherlock and Elementary may have the same premise, but the shows are different enough for fans of Arthur Conan Doyles character to watch both without worrying about comparisons. CBSs Elementary premiered in 2012, two years after BBCs Sherlock debuted. Between the Robert Downey Jr.-led Sherlock movies and the BBC show, Sherlock Holmes was experiencing a popularity resurgence in the early 2010s that made an American show all but inevitable. Still, given that Elementary would also be about a contemporary version of the character, comparisons between the CBS show and the Benedict Cumberbatch one quickly dominated the conversation.
Jonny Lee Miller played a very different contemporary Sherlock Holmes from Benedict Cumberbatch, and that was only one of many differences between the CBS procedural and the BBC show. However, considering that Elementary came out when Sherlock was at its peak both in terms of popularity and quality the American show would often...

Yes, Jenny Shimizu and Madonna actually happened! The 66-year-old pop star made it big during the 80s and 90s for her efforts in the music industry. She released some of the biggest albums in music starting with Like a Virgin (1984), followed by True Blue (1986), The Immaculate Collection (1990), and Like a Prayer (1989) which is probably her best release to date.

Although BBCs Sherlock is still missed, there are still plenty of other brilliant TV shows that can fill the gap. Benedict Cumberbatchs Sherlock Holmes is one of the best TV detectives ever, as well as one of the strongest interpretations of the legendary fictional character. Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock novels, which are about the extremely intelligent and blunt London detective, have received several direct and indirect adaptations over the years.
However, the BBCs version is absolutely one of the best TV shows of all time. Even in 2024, the iconic figure is still returning to screens in different forms, and many Sherlock Holmes movies and TV shows are currently in development. While its tempting to just stick with Holmes and Watson, many other TV shows are just as compelling and intriguing that rival Sherlock. Crime dramas can vary in terms of format, characters, and stories, but multiple TV shows have a similar atmosphere to Sherlock.

Elementary ran for 7 seasons, releasing more than 150 episodes, outperforming other Sherlock adaptations in continuity. Elementary provides a modern, contemporary twist to the classic Holmes stories, setting itself apart from traditional adaptations. Elementary holds higher ratings than Sherlock and challenges originality by offering new adventures and well-defined characters.
Sherlock Holmes is one of the most popular fictional characters of all time, but screen adaptations have struggled to properly capture the detective, until Elementary came along. Over the years, the popular works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle have been adapted dozens of times. Most of the time, this adaptation takes the form of a movie, but some series have been able to adapt the character for a more extensive period. However, in recent history, the most popular adaptations of Holmes featured Robert Downey Jr. in the titular role for the 2009 movie, and its sequel, and the BBC series, Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Sherlock Holmes has been adapted in so many ways that there’s no point in partaking in any kind of pearl clutching activities anymore. Of course, the adaptations featuring Basil Rathbone, Peter Cushing, Jeremy Brett, Michael Caine, Robert Downey Jr., Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, and even Jonny Lee Miller will be celebrated by fans of Arthur Conan Doyle’s work. But they also have to deal with the likes of Holmes & Watson, Enola Holmes, Sherlock Gnomes, and Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd century. And you’d think that after a show with a female Sherlock Holmes, a play in which Sherlock and Watson are in a gay relationship, and an animated series by Hayao Miyazaki where the characters are anthropomorphic animals, there’s no way that a new adaptation can surprise you. Well, Shekhar Home asks you to think otherwise.

CBS is developing a Van Helsing series with a modern-day crime fighter twist. Written by Jonathan Lee and from Elementary creator Rob Doherty, the show will focus on Dr. Abraham Van Helsing and ex-fbi agent Mina Harker. Could the show reinvigorate the character after the panned 2004 effort led by Hugh Jackman?
An underrated Hugh Jackman action horror movie is all set to be turned into a series, with CBS now developing a Van Helsing show. The series will reportedly turn Abraham Van Helsing, who was first introduced in Bram Stokers Dracula novel way, way back in the before times of 1897, into a modern-day crime fighter. As per a report by Deadline, the Van Helsing series is being written by Jonathan Lee, the author best known for the Netflix and BBC drama series Lockerbie, with CBS reportedly winning the rights to the project after a hotly contested auction.

Edgar Allan Poe's C. Auguste Dupin in 1841's "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" is the first fictional detective to appear in literature, but Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes is hands down the most well-known detective in all of pop culture.
Identifying himself as a "consulting" detective, Sherlock Holmes is intelligent beyond all reason, analytical to a fault, and emotionally distant due to his obsessions with logic. But when he's hot on the case in an investigation, his flair for the dramatics kicks in and he lives to show off his findings. Not because he wants to be the center of attention, but because he must let everyone know just how brilliant he is for cracking the case. He's also a morally questionable individual, who has no problems lying to law enforcement or committing petty crimes of his own if it means getting one step closer to solving the mystery.
