Last year, we got word that Amazon MGM and Mattel's live-action Masters of the Universe reboot had added another major cast member, with Alison Brie set to take on the role of the villainous Evil-Lyn.

As her name suggests, Evil-Lyn is a wicked and powerful sorceress who serves as Skeletor's second-in-command. Lyn was played by Meg Foster in the previous live-action movie, and was voiced by Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey in Netflix's Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series, which added some new dimensions to the character.

Brie has some experience playing a cartoonishly evil villain thanks to her Glow character's wrestling persona, Zoya "the Destroya."

While promoting her new horror movie, Together, during an interview with Collider, Brie was asked about the perception that this take on Motu would be more serious in tone than the classic '80s animated series, and responded with the following.

Now, in an interview with Collider, Brie seemingly debunked speculation about the movie's departure from the campy tone of previous iterations. When asked whether the upcoming reboot has a more serious or campy tone, the actor tried to play coy at first, but she suggested that reports claiming the movie would be serious are untrue.

When it comes to the interpretation of a superhero character, some different examples to look at would be the Batman franchise. The Caped Crusader has gone through different versions in live-action — which range from the campy Adam West show to the Tim Burton gothic films, to the Joel Schumacher flamboyant camp, to the animated series’ film noir, to the Christopher Nolan serious action take, to Matt Reeves’ hyper noir. While some details have been revealed about the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie, fans anticipating the film are awaiting the approach that Travis Knight is taking for the material.

The story taking place on Earth (although done in the Dolph Lundgren version) could lend itself to either a humorous element or a more adventurous element, or even both. However, Deadline is reporting that Alison Brie, who co-stars in the movie with Nicholas Galitzine, responds to rumors that the film would take a serious tone.

As major studios skipped this year’s outing, the con’s premiere venue was still lively and engaged crowds that cheered for breakout panels from 20th Century Studios’ “Predator: Badlands,” Amazon MGM’s “Project Hail Mary” and Disney’s “Tron: Ares” – proving that there is still genre fare outside of superhero movies to get the con’s most sought-after room hyped.

No, Dr. Doom didn’t show up at this year’s Comic-Con. But Disney sure as hell brought the dazzle with a laser light show that one-upped what they pulled off at CinemaCon, complete with a Tron: Ares logo in full neon red and two Tron-like warriors marching to the front of the stage.

Earlier this week, Amazon MGM unveiled the official logo for the live-action Masters of the Universe movie - which also included a new version of the '80s animated series' theme - in advance of the studio's Sdcc presentation, and some photos from the Con's Motu display have now been shared online.

There's no sign of any characters from the movie, unfortunately, but we do have a first look at He-Man's (Nicholas Galitzine) Power Sword, aka the Sword of Grayskull, and Skeletor's (Jared Leto) signature ram's-head Havoc Staff.

The Power Sword has been through a lot over the years. In the earliest stories, it was split in two and Skeletor wanted to combine both halves to gain control. Back then, He-Man didn’t even use it, he had an axe and a shield instead.

But that changed when the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon aired. That’s when the sword became the magical item that turned Prince Adam into He-Man.

We've had a couple of official shots of Nicholas Galitzine's He-Man from the new Masters of the Universe movie, and caught sight of him wearing some surprisingly normal clothes on the remake's set. Now, the logo has just been officially revealed (via Toonado.com).

Accompanied by an epic piece of music, the title reveal doesn't tell us much about what to expect, but this hopefully means we're getting a proper first look sooner rather than later.

Shooting recently wrapped on the movie that will play out on both Eternia and Earth. We're expecting this one to be very VFX-heavy, particularly when it comes to Skeletor, a character fans have high expectations for in this newest take on the property.

It's reminiscent of the 3D lettering that goes back to the original toy line and cartoon show from the 1980s, reaffirming how the film is meant to be a faithful homage. When doing press for Bumblebee, director Travis Knight professed to being a huge fan of the original G1 Transformers cartoon from the 80s. His fandom would come through with that movie as the designs and characters felt more in-tune with the source material than Bay’s versions. Purists of the franchise cited his vision as more faithful, and if that’s any indication, Masters of the Universe could be given the same care by Knight as the original Filmation animated series came from that same era.

Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel have unveiled the title treatment for the Masters of the Universe live-action film, which evokes the brand’s classic logo with a modern touch.

The sizzle reel below features the title translated into an array of languages, including the fictional language of Eternian.

Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), the global phenomenon arrives in theaters on June 5, 2026.

They may not be fabulous secret powers, but Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the new title treatment for their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. The newly released video features the logo for the upcoming film, which, like its 1987 predecessor, will simply be called Masters of the Universe. The logo takes its design cues from the original logo for the franchise, which first graced toy packaging, TV screens, and comic books back in 1982.

The clip also features a music sting derived from the 1982 cartoon's theme song, albeit in a considerably more lush and orchestrated form. Sony's Morbius movie could have been good. At least, that's what the Marvel fandom is now saying on social media after learning that filmmaker Ari Aster was approached to direct the Sony's Spider-Man Universe movie.

During a recent interview with the Mixed Signals podcast, Aster was asked to confirm or deny a rumor about him having been asked to direct a Marvel movie. The filmmaker confirmed that the rumor was true, saying, "Yes, once." After being nudged to reveal the movie, Aster shared that it was not Marvel Studios who wanted him, but Sony Pictures. "Well, I don’t know. I feel like I shouldn’t say. Should I? I was asked to do… Is it Mobius? Morbius? Morbius," he revealed.
