(1968) In his early lean years, Sam Elliott was one of two cowboys who called themselves Gabe and Paul, I think. We just got Sunday Houston Astro games out in West Texas. They appeared as representatives of some product, possibly beer, during the telecasts. He had such a distinctive voice which is the reason we remember him. I, once, asked his official website if that was him and they replied that it was, but it was not included in his resume'. As a kid, I greatly enjoyed the "bit".
