Exclusive: Jurassic World Rebirth is juicing up the rest of the franchise on Peacock.

Since the summer blockbuster hit theaters on July 2, the Jurassic Park franchise has seen a 51% increase in viewing hours week-over-week, Deadline can reveal exclusively.

Jurassic World Dominion, the previous outing in the franchise, has seen some particularly dino-sized gains with a 186% boost in viewing hours in the week immediately following the newest film’s New York premiere on June 23.

Even before Rebirth‘s theatrical release, that premiere event also rejuvenated the franchise’s overall viewing as well as audiences geared up to head to the cinema. In the week following the New York jaunt, franchise viewing increased a whopping 82% week-over-week.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is set to honor Bruce Springsteen, Penélope Cruz, Bowen Yang and Walter Salles at its fifth annual fundraising gala, set for Oct. 18.

Springsteen, who will perform live at the event, will receive the inaugural Legacy Award, given to an artist whose body of work has inspired generations of storytellers and deeply influenced culture. Cruz is being recognized with the Icon Award, celebrating an artist whose career has had a big worldwide impact.

Yang will receive the Vantage Award, given to an emerging artist helping to challenge existing, entrenched narratives around film.

Hollingsworth stars as fan-favorite Brady on Netflix’s Virgin River, which recently wrapped production on its seventh season for premiere in 2026. With Season 7, Virgin River becomes Netflix’s longest-running current original scripted series as well as the longest-running English-language drama series in the streamer’s history.

Hollingsworth previously was a series regular in CBS drama series Code Black opposite Marcia Gay Harden and Rob Lowe. More recently he appeared in Paramount+ original drama series Joe Pickett. In Steven Spielberg's groundbreaking 1993 blockbuster "Jurassic Park," the billionaire behind the titular hoped-for attraction, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), is practically buzzing with giddy anticipation at how successful his venture will likely become. He crows that his team who helped bring dozens of extinct species of dinosaurs back to life "spared no expense," and that everything in the park boasts "absolutely spectacular designs." Although the small group of experts Hammond has invited to tour the park are indeed impressed with what he's done, having strong emotional responses to the sights of actual living dinosaurs walking the Earth, they begin to have serious doubts as reality begins to set in. Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) sums up the potential folly of Jurassic Park succinctly: "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

When Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Crichton's bestselling sci-fi/horror novel hit theaters on June 11, 1993, the entire motion picture medium was forever changed. James Cameron had given us a tantalizing taste of how seamlessly computer-generated imagery could be integrated into a motion picture via "The Abyss" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," but no one was prepared for Spielberg and his visual FX team (which included Cameron collaborator Dennis Muren) to blast the technology seemingly decades into the future by creating photo-realistic dinosaurs. That moment where Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum get their first look at a living, breathing brachiosaurus induced a new kind of awe in moviegoers, and it remains a blessing and a curse that Spielberg was the man at the helm.

"Jurassic World Rebirth" is a strange movie. On the one hand, it's a lean, back-to-basics dino flick and is certainly better than the atrocity that was "Jurassic World Dominion." On the other hand, it's still a rather disappointing movie and illustrates the inherent limits of the larger "Jurassic" franchise with its basic, dull plot and uninteresting characters.

At its worst, "Rebirth" shares a lot of similarities with the worst impulses of the American MonsterVerse movies. Specifically, it spends too much time focusing on humans rather than the creatures audiences are here to see. It also feels the need to force some unnecessary kid characters into the story, which mostly ends up distracting from the stuff that's actually fun and cool.

Even at its best, however, "Rebirth" struggles to do a whole lot with its most fascinating concepts, like an island full of mutant dinosaurs.

Not that it ever really went away, but the Jurassic Park franchise is coming back with more bite. Just three years after it looked like the sci-fi series had gone extinct with Jurassic World Dominion, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards is taking the reins with Jurassic World Rebirth. With all three of the previous Jurassic World movies making over a billion each at the box office, it was only a matter of time until we got another, and this is arguably the most star-studded yet. Sadly, much like the mutant dinosaurs of Isla Saint-Hubert, this experiment may have gone too far.

After three years, a new Jurassic World movie is now playing in theaters. Before moviegoers head out to see Rebirth, they can check out the 2015 reboot starring Chris Pratt that successfully revitalized the franchise for free on Tubi.

Jurassic World is now available to stream on Tubi. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the 2015 movie features a fully operational and successful version of John Hammond's vision for a dinosaur amusement park on Isla Nublar, dubbed Jurassic World. Set 22 years after Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic Jurassic Park, the legacy sequel centers around a new species of dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which was created to boost plunging park attendance, escaping, in turn sending Jurassic World spiraling into chaos. With no one else to turn to, operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) enlists raptor specialist Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) to help her stop the Indominus rex and save her nephews and the park from further danger.

“Jurassic World: Rebirth” may not be the single worst installment in the “Jurassic Park” franchise, but it is certainly the most cynical. Although the series has not produced a legitimately good installment since Steven Spielberg’s original classic from 1993, each subsequent sequel has steadily chipped away at everything that made viewers fall in love with the world in the first place. Any notion of legitimate science has been eroded, any human characters with genuine passion for the prehistoric creatures have been removed, and an awe-inspiring spectacle has been traded out for generic monster movie shenanigans. “Rebirth” is an odd title for this new sequel, as it could be more aptly titled “Repetitive.”

Set five years after dinosaurs began to walk the Earth freely once more at the end of “Jurassic World Dominion,” “Jurassic World: Rebirth” quickly doubles back to suggest that the planet has become too inhospitable for these prehistoric wonders.

Amazon MGM Studios announced today that Denis Villeneuve has signed on as director of the next James Bond film. Villeneuve will also serve as executive producer, alongside Tanya Lapointe.

As previously announced, Amy Pascal (best known for her work on the Spider-Man franchise) and David Heyman (who produced all eight Harry Potter films) will serve as producers of the new movie.

On Wednesday, Turner Classic Movies and Julien's Auctions invited David Lynch disciples to bid on over 450 items from the late, great filmmaker's personal archive. The auction took place at the Beverly Hills branch of the Peninsula hotel empire, with participants able to bid in-person and virtually.

The full arc of Lynch's pioneering career was on display, starting with early Eraserhead memorabilia before taking a left turn at Twin Peaks and heading straight on into Inland Empire. All in, the auction brought in $4.25 million from the filmmaker's fans and admirers still mourning his passing in January at age 78. That price tag buys a heck of a lot of spice melange.
