Beloved Star Wars show will officially return for another season this year
Image
Disney Plus has been the home for the Star Wars franchise for the past six years. One of Hollywood's most iconic film series spawned its new era with The Mandalorian in 2019 and it hasn't looked back since, producing spinoffs, standalones, and even sequels to some of the most beloved Star Wars movies. It was all happening on the small screen.

There were some occasional glitches in the journey back to that galaxy so far, far away. While The Mandalorian became the saga's most successful ongoing series and Obi-Wan Kenobi brought back Ewan McGregor's beloved Jedi to become one of Disney Plus' most successful ever titles, The Acolyte crumbled under the pressure of its huge budget and The Book of Boba Fett didn't live up to expectations.

As Lucasfilm and Disney Plus recalibrate the next chapters of the Star Wars story (many of which will be back on the big...

'Birds of Prey' Star, 38, Reveals If She Will Return in James Gunn's Dcu [Exclusive]
Image
With the release of James Gunn's Supermanofficially pushing his Dcu forward, some are looking back at those who last brought certain DC Comic characters to life. Gunn has previously confirmed that he is working on a Wonder Woman-related projects and that Matt Reeves' Batman is not a part of his universe, likely meaning he's looking for both someone to fill the shoes of Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne. That also leaves a wide berth for the rest of the Dcu, even after the healthy dose of new characters debuting in Superman. Looking back, other DC-related projects includeBirds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The 2020 film followed Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn (after previously starring as her in Suicide Squad) and brought to life one of the lesser known DC Comic teams (as opposed to say The Justice League or Justice Society of America). Included...

Three Years Later, Star Wars' Young Princess Leia Opens Up About The Pressures Of Appealing To The Fanbase
Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi star Vivien Lyra Blair has opened up about what it was like for her to step into such a massive franchise and protect Carrie Fisher’s and Princess LeiaOrgana’s beloved Star Wars legacies. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series may have first and foremost been about Obi-Wan’s hardships in exile, but it also introduced us to a version of Princess Leia we’d never seen before.

While Carrie Fisher’s Leia was just 19 years old in the retitled A New Hope, Vivien Lyra Blair’s version of the character was only 10 years old, a mischievous, wise-cracking, hopeful, and kind young Princess on the cusp of becoming one of the Rebellion’s greatest leaders.

Blair had a difficult balance to strike. How do you show people a new version of such an iconic character while honoring the late Carrie Fisher’s legacy and pleasing Star Wars' notoriously difficult-to-please fanbase?...

'Lost' Alum's 92% Rotten Tomatoes Crime Drama Has Its Fate Decided by HBO Max
Image
Dusterhas bitten the dust. The Josh Holloway-Rachel Hilson period action thriller, which was co-created by J.J. Abrams, will not be returning for a second season of adventure. Despite critical acclaim, the series did not manage to find a steady audience, and has been cancelled by the newly rebranded HBO Max. The series was originally greenlit in 2020, and was filmed some time ago; the show's cast and crew have since moved on to other projects.

Deadline reports that Bad Robot, Abrams' production company, did attempt to shop the series to other platforms and streamers, but did not come to an agreement with any of them. In a statement, the network expressed gratitude to "amazingly talented co-creators J.J. Abrams and Latoya Morgan, and our partners at Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television. We are tremendously proud of this series led by Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson and we thank...

Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi's new seasons will test if Lucasfilm has learned from past mistakes
Image
Not many Star Wars live-action series have had second seasons, with shows like The Acolyte and The Book of Boba Fett suffering from review bombing and an overall disappointing showing. Recently, unconfirmed rumors suggest that Obi-Wan Kenobi's second season is in development.

If true, Kenobi would join Ahsoka as being among only a handful of Star Wars live-action shows that made it to season 2. Andor season 2 is Lucasfilm's latest success, as it has outperformed season 1 in terms of numbers, and the show's overall reception has been overwhelmingly positive. The Mandalorian is an outlier with three seasons, and a potential fourth season is still a possibility until Lucasfilm denies it.

The Mandalorian season 2 and Andor season 2 are examples of highly successful follow-up seasons. Andor's recent success may have instilled confidence in Lucasfilm to give other shows a second season. Ahsoka season 2 is currently in production, and if all goes well,...

All Danny Boyle Movies Ranked, From Worst to Best
Image
Danny Boyle is among the most fascinating directors to emerge from the rise of independent cinema in the 1990s, as he’s never been an artist content to do the same thing twice. While some of his contemporaries have been accused of simply being derivative of what made them acclaimed in the first place, Boyle has seamlessly floated between dramas, having made electrifying crime thrillers, high concept science fiction films, powerful human speculative dramas, fascinating biopics, and a few prestige television shows. Boyle is a strong humanist, as even at his most stylized, his films have a real interest in exploring the dimensionality of decisions and personal growth. He’s a filmmaker who has pushed the boundaries of the medium through his application of digital expressionism and hypnotic editing, but he’s also someone with a keen eye for casting, as he has identified some of the most influential actors of the generation through foresight.

15 Best Movie Musicals Of All Time, Ranked
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

In the preface to her seminal book "The Hollywood Musical," Jane Feuer argues that musicals deserve as much serious consideration by film theorists as any other genre. After all, she says, just because they're mass entertainment doesn't mean they're not doing something worthwhile beneath the surface. "Musicals not only gave the most intense (because the least intellectualized) pleasure to their audience but also supplied a justification for that pleasure," she wrote. "Musicals not only showed you singing and dancing; they were about singing and dancing, about the nature and importance of that experience."

She's right. The best musicals insist that the cathartic release of singing and dancing is a worthwhile pursuit all its own. The best musicals lean into the excitement of spectacle, reminding us that coming together to watch people perform can be one of the most energizing forms of entertainment we have.

Star Wars legend confirmed to return for imminent project
Image
The word "legend" gets thrown around pretty easily, but in the Star Wars franchise, there are plenty of them. Whether it's the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul who featured in the prequel saga, or the classic characters like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia, who are all still so commonly associated with the movie series almost 50 years after the original trilogy began. Yep, Star Wars produces legends.

The beauty of the Star Wars movie series is that Lucasfilm has been able to successfully translate into small screen success too. It hasn't been smooth-sailing at all times, but the recent installments on Disney Plus have given us new Star Wars legends, particularly the likes of The Mandalorian, Grogu, and even the live-action debut of Ahsoka (who has previously appeared in animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

Now, it has been confirmed that one of the biggest...

'Cancelled' Star Wars show renewed for another season, reports say
Image
The Star Wars franchise is no stranger to stumbling and getting back up. It's one of the most iconic movie series in Hollywood history but there have been some darker days for it through the years as well. Let's not forget the response to the prequel trilogy - particularly that of The Phantom Menace and Jar Jar Binks - or Disney Plus series The Book of Boba Fett. Lucasfilm for sure would have liked stronger responses, but the titles themselves were success stories and the franchise persisted.

Star Wars' newest era has provided its devoted fans with plenty of opportunities for discussion, as there have been plenty of ups and downs that have come with it. While the Skywalker movie series has come to an end and both Disney and Lucasfilm figured out the next steps for the stories in that galaxy so far, far away, the franchise lived on...

New rumor suggests Ewan McGregor could return for Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2
Image
More than three years after Obi-Wan Kenobi debuted on Disney+, a new rumor suggests the Jedi Master’s journey may not be over just yet.

According to a recent report from industry insider Daniel Richtman, Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor could return as Obi-Wan in a potential second season. No additional details were provided with no production timeline, casting confirmations, and no official green light from Lucasfilm has been announced.

Originally developed as a limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi was marketed as "The Complete Series" upon its physical release. The show premiered in May 2022 to strong viewership and fan engagement.

Set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, the show followed Obi-Wan living in exile on Tatooine as he quietly watched over a young Luke Skywalker. When young Princess Leia is kidnapped, Obi-Wan is forced out of hiding, triggering a confrontation with his former apprentice, Darth Vader, in...

Rumor mill: Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 is happening
Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the stranger Star Wars projects at Disney. On the one hand, it marked a fun return for some franchise veterans, with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen both coming back to play Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker respectively. That said, the story, which bridged the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, felt a little unnecessary.

Season 1 debuted way back in 2022. It left room for a second outing, but Disney went quiet on the project very quickly. It was presumed that the series would end with one season. In terms of reviews, Obi-Wan Kenobi received a lot of praise from critics; when it came to viewership, its debut even surpassed the premiere of The Mandalorian season 2. On paper, it more than deserved to be renewed, but Disney did bill the series as limited.

The rumor of another season comes from insider Daniel Richtman, who's...

Tom Hardy's Favorite War Movie Is Now Streaming For Free
Image
Tom Hardyis no stranger to war movies. In fact, that’s how the actor got his start. Back in 2001, the actor joined an insanely stacked call sheet alongside legends like Ewan McGregor and Josh Hartnett in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why, when he was asked about his favorite films, the actor responded with a classic war pic at the top of the list. According to Far Out, Hardy previously heralded Oliver Stone’s iconic Vietnam War-centered feature, Platoon, as his number one picture. Now, audiences can head to Prime Video to check out the film, as it finds itself streaming alongside the platform’s extended list of content.

During his interview, Hardy was sure to mention the near impossibility of picking a favorite flick, naming other filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Gaspar Noé, and more as the best in the biz.

A Western Flop Features Cameos From Both Jamie Foxx And Christopher Lloyd
Image
There was a point in time where Seth MacFarlane was on top of the animation world. "Family Guy," which MacFarlane created, wrote, and starred in, joined the ranks of "South Park" and "King of the Hill" as one of the most popular adult animated shows on television. Fox canceled the show twice in its first few years, only for it to come back bigger than ever. "Family Guy" still airs new episodes today and, much like "The Simpsons," it will go on long after we're all dead. Out of the show's wake came "American Dad" and "The Cleveland Show," but it was becoming clear that MacFarlane had the drive to expand into feature films. The man was born to direct a musical, but alas, maybe one day.

MacFarlane's feature directorial debut, "Ted," ended up being a massive critical and financial success. For every joke that's aged like milk, the 2012 comedy...

Rumor: Obi-wan Kenobi Season 2 Is Now "In Development" At Lucasfilm Following Fan Demand
Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi was originally conceived as a movie and would have fallen under the "A Star Wars Story" banner. Solo's poor box office performance ended that possibility, and with Disney eager to bolster its streaming offerings, it became a six-part TV series.

Despite some divisive ideas and characters, the show was a hit and was praised for filling in the gaps between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Lucasfilm even found a way to give fans an Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader rematch, leading to that now-iconic scene where we caught a glimpse of what remains of Anakin Skywalker beneath the Sith Lord's helmet.

With a decade to go until Ben's demise on the Death Star, Star Wars fans are optimistic that a second season could happen, potentially exploring the Jedi Master's rivalry with Maul by expanding what we saw in Star Wars Rebels.

After Ahsoka, Another Star Wars Show on Disney+ Is Reportedly Moving Forward With a Second Season
Image
Ahsoka may no longer be the only recent live-action Star Wars series to receive a second season. A new rumor claims that Lucasfilm is in development on another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

According to Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is now in development at Lucasfilm. Unfortunately, the scooper did not indicate when the second season might go into production or be released on Disney+. Originally envisioned as a solo film, Obi-Wan Kenobi was redeveloped into a limited series following the financial failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story. With the physical media release of Obi-Wan Kenobi labeling it as "The Complete Series" as opposed to "Season 1," it's clear that Lucasfilm initially had no intention of continuing the Disney+ show despite fan interest.

Set a decade after the Jedi Order was purged during the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, the first season...

'Star Wars' Rumor Reveals That 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Season 2 Is in the Works
Image
Star Wars fans might be headed back to a galaxy far, far away alongside their favorite bearded Jedi. Ever since Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 was released in 2022 on Disney+, there has been little to no movement on the Star Wars series. Well, until now. A new rumor points to a long-awaited return for the miniseries, which featured Ewan McGregor reprising his beloved role.

According to Daniel Richtman, Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is in the works. No other details were included in the report, and, until further confirmation, it should be taken with a grain of salt. However, after McGregor has consistently expressed his desire to tell more stories featuring Obi-Wan, there may be some validity to the latest rumor. The first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi has an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audience reviews garnered a lower 61% rating. It should be noted that the latter score was likely affected by review bombing,...

George Lucas Reportedly Planned To Give Obi-Wan Kenobi A Final Live-Action Rematch With Darth Maul
Image
George Lucas' canceled TV show, Star Wars: Underworld, would reportedly have featured the return of Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi in a duel with Darth Maul. It's easy to forget that George Lucas himself was the one who spun Star Wars out beyond a film franchise. In fact, in the 2000s, he planned to make a live-action Star Wars TV show.

We don't know much about Lucas' planned live-action TV show. Apparently scripts for 60 episodes of Star Wars: Underworld were prepared, and we know one story featured an unlikely romance in which Palpatine was betrayed by a gangster. But now new reports suggest Underworld would have been even more ground-breaking.

We know that Star Wars: Underworld was set on the lower levels of Coruscant in the Dark Times of the Empire's reign. Yahoo! just dropped a fascinating report including some rumored plots:

"Rumored plots will sound eerily familiar to anyone...

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Gets Major Update 3 Years After Season 1 Ended
Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi just got its first potentially major update over three years after its first season ended on Disney+. Coming in as Star Wars' third live-action series developed exclusively for Disney+, Obi-Wan Kenobi gave fans a nostalgic look at one of the franchise's most famous legacy characters. While Kenobi's future has been a question mark since then, there may be hope that Star Wars will revisit him.

A new rumor indicated that a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is in development for Lucasfilm. Obi-Wan was originally billed as a limited series for Lucasfilm, giving star Ewan McGregor another chance to portray the character he made famous in Star Wars' prequel trilogy. However, that status may be in line to change, with Lucasfilm and Star Wars hoping to bring another massive hit to Disney+.

While scooper Daniel Richtman shared the rumor, he gave no sign of when Obi-Wan Kenobi's second season...

Ewan McGregor's New Motorcycle Show Becomes Streaming Hit
Image
Ewan McGregor's powerful new show about motorcycling has quietly become a huge streaming hit. Long Way Home continues the multi-part franchise that originally started with 2004's docu-series Long Way Round.

Long Way Home follows the Star Wars actor and his best friend, TV host and actor Charley Boorman (Deliverance and Excalibur), as they take a trip more than 20 years in the making all across Europe, traveling only by motorbike. Per FlixPatrol, Long Way Home has quietly become one of Apple TV+'s most popular shows worldwide. The travel show currently ranks #9 on Apple TV+s worldwide chart of Top TV Shows, putting it in contention with the likes of perennial favorite Ted Lasso and current chart topper Murderbot.

Indara's death in The Acolyte didn't go the way Carrie-Anne Moss hoped
Image
Star Wars has been a highly popular franchise from the very beginning. As a result, it has also long been heavily criticized by its fans. Examples of this lurk everywhere in this nearly 50-year history, and they continue to pop up now -- as was the case with Carrie-Anne Moss's premiere appearance in The Acolyte in 2024.

Thanks to the power of non-linear storytelling, Moss's character appears in multiple episodes throughout the series. But her character, Master Indara, dies in the show's very first scene. Star Wars fans had a lot to say about this after the first episode aired on Disney+ -- and Moss was not prepared for that aspect of participating in the marvel that is a galaxy far, far away.

"I didn't think it would be a big deal at all," she told Business Insider. "The reaction to it from the fans ... I serve the writers and the directors.

Crafting the ‘28 Years Later’ Soundtrack: How Scottish Band Young Fathers Worked With ‘King of the Needle Drop’ Danny Boyle
Image
Danny Boyle is a director known for his exceptional use of music to score key — and now iconic — scenes in his films. Think Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life” in “Trainspotting” as Ewan McGregor pounded the streets of Edinburgh or the movie’s euphoric closing moments as Underworld’s era-defining track “Born Slippy” played. In fact, think most of the “Trainspotting” soundtrack. Then there was A.R Rahman’s hands-in-the-air anthem “Jai Ho!” from the “Slumdog Millionaire finale, John Murphy’s rousing “Adagio in D Minor” from “Sunshine” (and numerous other subsequent films) and God Speed You Black Emperor’s “East Hastings,” heard as as Cillian Murphy famously wandered the streets of a deserted London at the start of “28 Days Later.”

According to Scottish band Young Fathers, Boyle is the “King of the Needle Drops,” and someone who can throw music — and sometimes not the music you’d expect — into...

The epic King novel is about the aftermath of a pandemic of weaponised influenza that causes the surviving humans to divide into good and evil factions.

The novel has been filmed twice before, both times as a TV miniseries. A 1994 version for ABC starred Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald, and a 2021 version for then streamer CBS All Access featured James Marsden and Odessa Young.

A scenic spa town tucked within the forested hills of western Bohemia, Karlovy Vary is among the most picturesque settings you could choose for a film festival — a fact that surely wasn’t lost on organizers when they hosted the fest’s first edition more than 70 years ago.

Today, as the Czech town prepares to hold its 59th edition, running July 4 – 12, the Karlovy Vary Intl. Film Festival has grown into the most prestigious festival in Central and Eastern Europe. It’s an event that combines the glamour of Hollywood with the youthful exuberance of the countless young cinephiles who flock from across Europe every summer to pitch tents, pack the festival’s cinemas and party deep into the night.

Danny Boyle 'couldn't make Slumdog Millionaire today'
Danny Boyle "wouldn’t be able to make" Slumdog Millionaire today. The 68-year-old filmmaker helmed the 2008 drama movie - which told the story of 18-year-old Jamal Malik from the Juhu slums of Mumbai - but Danny believes the acclaimed film was of its time and that the world has now moved on.He told the Guardian newspaper: "Yeah, we wouldn’t be able to make that now. And that’s how it should be. It’s time to reflect on all that. We have to look at the cultural baggage we carry and the mark that we’ve left on the world."The film - which starred Dev Patel and Freida Pinto - won a number of awards at the time, including seven BAFTA Awards and four Golden Globes. However, it received mixed reviews in India.Asked if the movie amounted to a form of colonialism, Danny replied: "No, no.

Danny Boyle was surprised by Trainspotting's impact
Danny Boyle never thought Trainspotting would transform his career. The 68-year-old director helmed the 1996 drama film - which starred the likes of Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle - but Danny never imagined that the movie would become such a huge success.Asked if he expected the film to kick-start his career, Danny told The Hollywood Reporter: "No. Absolutely not. "In fact, I remember there was a wave of disapproval of it building. They had shown a trailer or something on one of the TV movie shows here. And one of the prestigious critics said, 'Well, that looks shockingly irresponsible about drugs.' Things like that were building. "And then there was this journalist, Muriel Gray, and she wrote this piece about Irvine’s [Welsh] book, and about the film. She spoke with authority saying, 'You do not know what you are talking about,' all these people...

When Danny Boyle Turned Down Alien 4 ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )

Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic zombie film 28 Years Later is easily one of 2025’s most anticipated releases, especially among horror enthusiasts. This third entry in the 28 Days Later film series is slated to hit theatres on June 20, 2025. Diehard cinephiles might know that before directing 28 Days Later (2002), Danny Boyle had made the cult dark comedy Trainspotting (1996) and the Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer adventure drama The Beach (2000).

But what many may not know is that the Slumdog Millionaire helmer was offered the chance to direct the fourth Alien movie in the late 90s. But he turned it down and made a very different film instead. Read on to know why he walked away from Alien 4 (officially titled Alien Resurrection) and what movie he directed instead.

Danny Boyle Talks ‘28 Years Later’ Trilogy Plan, Turning Down ‘Alien’ and the Time ‘127 Hours’ Made Pixar Animators Faint
Image
On Danny Boyle’s 11th birthday, he and his twin sister were given a special treat, when their parents took them to the movies for the first time. Boyle and his father saw the Henry Fonda war epic Battle of the Bulge, while Boyle’s sister and mother watched The Sound of Music, which a year earlier won best picture at the Oscars.

Boyle was hooked. But growing up in a working-class family near Manchester, England, no one could have guessed that five decades years later, he would boast his own best picture winning-movie, 2008’s Slumdog Millionaire, and a kinetic style he has applied to dizzying number of genres, including drug-infused dark comedy (Trainspotting), zombie thriller (28 Days Later), true-life tale (Steve Jobs, 127 Hours) hard sci-fi (Sunshine), and feel-good musical (Yesterday), to name a few.

On Friday, the auteur returns to theaters with 28 Years Later, a $60 million sequel...

‘The Dark Fantastic’ to Dazzle Raindance Audiences
Image
Cosmic Buzz Films is set to ignite the Raindance Film Festival with the UK premiere of The Dark Fantastic on 26 June. Directed by Dutch multidisciplinary artist Lg White, this hallucinatory music documentary plunges into the mind and work of cult British composer Simon Boswell. Best known for his groundbreaking scores on over 150 films, Boswell has long been a defining voice in horror and fantasy cinema. Now, under White’s colourful lens, his story unfolds in an audiovisual trip that promises to be unlike any concert or documentary you’ve ever seen.

When will the Academy Awards recognize actors in Star Wars?
Image
Andor has put many Star Wars actors into consideration for accolades for their fine work in the series, at least when it comes to the Emmy Awards. It should be well-received, and I would be surprised if no actors are recognized for at least a nomination.

Seven actors have received Emmy nominations for their work in the franchise, whether via voice acting or live action. David Tennant is currently the only one who has won in 2013 for his voice work on The Clone Wars. He played the droid, Huyang, which he reprised in the live-action series Ahsoka and the animated series Young Jedi Adventures.

However, when it comes to film and on the big screen, only one actor has received a nomination for his work. In 1977, Alec Guinness was nominated for his portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope.

It is surprising that despite many memorable performances by several...

10 Best Lego Sets Based On Iconic Star Wars Moments
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

"Star Wars" is a franchise that soars in large part based on its ability to sell toys and collectibles to children and adults -- but with Lego in the cockpit, they can pretty much move through hyperspace. The legendary toy company and Lucasfilm have been working together consistently since the lead-up to the release of the first film in the prequel trilogy in 1999, developing buildable models and playsets based on scenes, vehicles, and characters from all "Star Wars" properties.

In the decades since, the "Star Wars" line has become one of Lego's best known brands, seamlessly enveloping ideas from the slate of new movies, TV shows, and even video games produced since Disney acquired the company. They continue to regularly release playsets for the young target audience to build and imagine with as they grow up. As for those adults...

All 12 Star Wars Movies, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 50 years, you most likely have at least a passing familiarity with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda, and Darth Vader. "Star Wars" has been one of the world's most popular franchises since the first film was released back in 1977, and at this point, its most famous moments (including Darth Vader's iconic "I am your father" confession) have spilled out into the public consciousness, known even by people who haven't seen the films. But that doesn't mean that every "Star Wars" movie is of the same quality as its very best outings -- far from it.

In fact, every self-respecting "Star Wars" fan seems to have a litany of grievances against their beloved franchise, railing against one film or another for ruining "Star Wars." But since they all seem to blame different films for the sci-fi series' alleged downfall, coming up with...

Every Live-Action Star Wars TV Season Ranked
Image
Spoilers ahead for all live-action "Star Wars" shows.

It's been nearly six years since the great Disney+ "Star Wars" project began with "The Mandalorian" season 1 in 2019. In the absence of any theatrical films since "Star Wars: Episode IX -- The Rise of Skywalker," streaming has become the de facto platform for the franchise, and Lucasfilm has put out an honestly staggering amount of live-action television in just over half a decade. That's in addition to the fantastic work constantly being done by Lucasfilm Animation, but today, we're specifically talking about the live-action "Star Wars" series.

As of right now, the future of live-action "Star Wars" on Disney+ is unclear, with "Ahsoka" season 2 being the lone exception to the rule. Not only that, but "Andor" creator Tony Gilroy (while addressing the show's massive budget) has also claimed Disney told him, in his own words, "Streaming is dead, we don't have the money we had before.

Saoirse Ronan Goes Feral in Talking Heads’ ‘Psycho Killer’ Video: Director Mike Mills Says ‘I Don’t Know How She Didn’t Just Shrivel Up at the End’
Image
On the 50th anniversary of Talking Heads’ first live gig, a music video for “Psycho Killer” has finally been released … and if you know that Saoirse Ronan is starring, and that the prestige helmer is Oscar-nominated director Mike Mills (“C’mon C’mon”), you can probably guess that neither psychosis nor killing will be the actual theme of the visualization. But Ronan is still a “real live wire,” that much is certain, in a video that focuses on a psyche caught up in everyday frustrations and anxieties.

It was “an athletic performance,” Mills tells Variety of Ronan’s work on the two-day shoot earlier this year — clarifying: “an emotionally athletic performance. Saoirse could be totally feral and go so high, and then be so subtle and go there in a very real way with all those emotions. I still don’t quite get how she didn’t just shrivel up at the end.
