Rob Reiner is an unabashed Stephen King fan. He third movie was Stand by Me, based on the King story "The Body." Shortly after the release of that film, he formed his own production company, Castle Rock Entertainment, named after a fictional Maine town that serves as the setting for many a King tale. Over the years, Castle Rock has churned out several adaptations of the horror master's works, including The Shawshank Redemption, Misery, The Green Mile, Needful Things, Dolores Claiborne, Hearts in Atlantis, and Dreamcatcher — but, ironically, not the King-adjacent series Castle Rock, which was produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.

While we might not get to see the Reagan family together every episode, fans will get to see a familiar face in the form of Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan. Deadline reports that Danny’s sister will be joining her brother in his new home in Boston, although it may be temporary. She will appear in the premiere episode, and Moynahan is also going to direct an episode at some point during the season.

Wahlberg announced the news on his Instagram, sharing a photo with his television sister, who he worked alongside for 14 seasons. It will be a nice treat for fans who have wanted to see members of the cast appear in Boston Blue as well.

On July 25, It's time to head back to the links — and the 1990s — with Adam Sandler. The star is picking up his golf clubs again for Netflix's Happy Gilmore 2, a belated follow-up to the 1996 golf comedy that propelled him onto Hollywood's comedy A-list. It's the first time that Sandler has revisited one of those vintage comedies; to date, his only live-action sequels to previous successes have been Grown-Ups 2 and Murder Mystery 2.

Interestingly, Happy Gilmore 2 is arriving on Netflix one month ahead of Sandler's latest seriocomic turn; the actor will be starring alongside George Clooney in Noah Baumbach's Venice-bound feature Jay Kelly. And the two actors will likely be joined at the hip throughout awards season as Clooney positions himself for his first Best Actor nomination since The Descendants way back in 2013. Ordered to series in January, American Classic stars Kevin Kline as Richard Bean, a Broadway star who returns to his hometown, family-run theater in the wake of a public meltdown. There, he discovers that his father Linus (Cariou), the theater’s artistic director, has lost a step, leaving Richard’s brother (Jon Tenney) and sister-in-law (Laura Linney) to turn the once-respected venue into a low-rent dinner theater.

Blu-ray.com has reported on Sony’s newest physical media release for the 1985 western Silverado. The Lawrence Kasdan film is packed with an all-star cast that includes Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, Danny Glover, John Cleese, Jeff Goldblum, Jeff Fahey, Rosanna Arquette, Linda Hunt & Brian Dennehy. The movie will come in a Blu-ray/4K Blu-ray combo pack and is scheduled to be available on October 7.

Our Eic, Chris Bumbray, raved about the film in a retrospective column and video, in which he stated, “Silverado is so much fun that it’s insane to think that the movie never spawned a western franchise that would have sustained a whole series of films. Goldberg will play a recurring role for a “special storyline” over a few episodes set to air in 2026 as part of the show’s 30th anniversary season.

According to Deadline, citing Yulin’s family and manager, Sue Leibman, Yulin died in New York City of cardiac arrest.

Yulin’s career spanned more than 60 years and encompassed roles on stage, including Broadway, as well as in films and television shows. The Internet Movie Database lists 138 screen credits dating back to 1970. When Alfonso Cuarón stepped into the world of series to direct AppleTV+’s “Disclaimer,” he called on Adam Gough to assemble and cut the series.

In the intervening years, he has worked nonstop, popping up in films directed by Robert Rodriguez (“The Faculty)”, Werner Herzog (“Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans”) and Michael Mann (“Public Enemies”) and on TV in acclaimed series like NBC/TNT’s cop drama “Southland” and TNT’s crime saga “Animal Kingdom.” Now his supporting turn as Dr. Jack Abbot, an ER doctor in Max’s “The Pitt,” is earning him a new kind of acclaim. Never mind that the character appears in less than a third of the series’ first 15 episodes.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it,” Hatosy said. Dr. Abbot works the night shift, initially only crossing paths with Noah Wyle’s Dr.

Per Deadline's report, Yulin passed away from cardiac arrest. The actor was very active before his passing, and he was scheduled to begin production on the MGM+ series, American Classic. The show was set to reunite him with Ozark co-star Laura Linney, as well as Kevin Kline. Director Michael Hoffman was quick in reacting to the news:

The half-hour series, from creators/executive producers Michael Hoffman and Bob Martin, had just started production in New York on Monday, with Yulin preparing to start filming his role this week before his passing.

Shooting on American Classic, from Fifth Season, with Mar-Key Pictures, Likely Story and Anonymous Content, is continuing. Over a six-decade career Yulin amassed more than 100 screen credits. Filmgoers remember him as bent Miami detective Mel Bernstein in Brian De Palma’s 1983 gangster classic, as Judge Stephen Wexler in Ghostbusters II, and as the hawkish national-security adviser in Clear and Present Danger.

Television offered equal range: an Emmy-nominated guest turn on Frasier (1996), a chilling Cardassian impersonator on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and, most recently, Buddy Dieker, the irascible basement tenant on Netflix’s Ozark. A devoted stage actor, he debuted off-Broadway in 1963, later appearing on Broadway in Hedda Gabler, The Price and The Diary of Anne Frank, and won a Lucille Lortel Award for directing The Trip to Bountiful.
