Marvel Studios has officially released the first featurette for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it includes new interviews with director Matt Shakman and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
That's not all, though, as there's also plenty of behind-the-scenes action (showcasing the practical sets and stunts) and snippets of footage from the movie itself.
However, it's what we don't see that's causing a stir on social media.
We recently told you that John Malkovich's name has been removed from the cast list attached to press material for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Now, the actor's name has also vanished from the credits included at the end of this sneak peek, lending weight to theories he'll no longer appear in the reboot.
Rumour has it he'd been cast as Red Ghost; it's not like his role has been kept a secret, as he was featured in the first teaser trailer.

In the trailer, Shakman touches on the movie’s retro-futuristic feel, saying he’s been a fan of the comics for decades and wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to make the film. Meanwhile, Feige...

If you are thinking that Jurassic Park film franchise should be done already and stop ruining the perfect original film, then I agree with you but when every film makes over a billion dollars then the certainty of a sequel is absolute, and that’s what you are getting this upcoming month, but this time with Scarlett Johansson.

In next month's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, we'll visit another parallel reality. The home of the McU's First Family, this world has a retro-futuristic look inspired by the 1960s, the decade we were first introduced to these heroes on the page.
The reboot's Instagram page was recently overhauled as a source of images and information from this unnamed world. A piece of official concept art has just been revealed, showcasing Marvel Studios' take on the Baxter Building.
As we've previously explained, the expectation is that Avengers: Secret Wars will reboot the MCU, making the Fantastic Four and X-Men part of the same reality as the Avengers. If that does happen, the Baxter Building will be part of New York's skyline; however, will it be this or a modernised version? That remains to be seen.

There exists a particular European fantasy, a kind of cinematic comfort food, where grief is not a squalid, private affair but an aesthetic opportunity for a beautifully lit relocation. Mr. Blake at Your Service! presents such a fantasy with unabashed sincerity.
We meet Andrew Blake, a British business titan rendered inert by the recent death of his French wife, a man whose expansive world has shrunk to the suffocating size of a memory. His pilgrimage back to the French château where their story began is less a conscious plan than a primal impulse, the last-ditch act of a man whose engines have seized.
The Domaine de Beauvillier, the object of his powerful nostalgia, is itself a perfect symbol of genteel decay—a beautiful, crumbling bastion of a past that can no longer afford its own upkeep. It stands as a monument to a time when grandeur was a given, now...

Comedy in the 23rd Century with the crew of the USS Enterprise has always been a levity reprieve while exploring and promoting Federation ideals in the Alpha Quadrant. In Tos, most notably with the sparring comedy team of the Vulcan “straight man” in Lieutenant Spock and the “captain sarcasm” in Medical Officer “Bones” McCoy. Star Trek creators were quite smart in balancing the seriousness of first contact missions, alien species conflicts, and the dangers of unknown space anomalies within the light-hearted fun of comedy and laughter at light-speed.
With Star Trek’s first musical episode in Snw, to the adult animated Star Trek comedy Star Trek: Lower Decks – injections of comedy have always been a part of Star Trek’s appeal, and it is as alive today as it was some sixty years ago from the 1966 iconic Tos that launched a global phenomenon.

If you feel like watching a political thriller this Independence Day, Pluto TV has you covered — and they'll even let you stream it for free. In the Line of Fire, the critically acclaimed 1993 movie starring Clint Eastwood as a Secret Service agent and John Malkovich as a would-be presidential assassin, is coming to the Fast streamer starting on July 1.
The movie was the brainchild of producer Jeff Apple (The Recruit), who was inspired by a childhood memory of seeing Lyndon Johnson surrounded by Secret Service agents. Apple commissioned writer Jeff Maguire (Escape to Victory) to pen the script, which was eventually directed by Das Boot's Wolfgang Petersen, who would tackle Presidential action again a few years later in Air Force One. The movie was one of the first to use digital effects: footage of Eastwood from the 1960s was digitized and inserted into old news footage to depict his character's early career.

Galactus ranks among the Marvel Universe's most powerful villains, and how better to show that in The Fantastic Four: First Steps than by having the Devourer of Worlds, well, devour a planet?
In a newly released TV spot for the movie, we see what appears to be Galactus' Worldship bursting through an unnamed world. The ship likely absorbs the planet's core, giving the World Eater the energy and sustenance he so desperately craves.
It will be interesting to see whether The Fantastic Four follows the Earth X comic, where Galactus specifically targeted worlds with Celestials growing inside them. We've also yet to learn whether Galactus is a threat solely to this reality or the Multiverse.

Emotions are running high for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The most recent installment of the beloved franchise ended up being a truly phenomenal movie that made us feel all of the feels. The MCU is back on track and it's producing banger movies once again to prove it, and that's exactly the kind of energy that the franchise needs heading into Avengers: Doomsday, the first part of the big crossover finale of the Multiverse Saga, which arrives in theaters next year.
Speaking of emotions, that is the movie that will no doubt be making everyone feel everything for it will bring back MCU veteran Robert Downey Jr. as the saga's new villain Doctor Doom. How the Avengers will tackle that wild card remains to be seen, but there's also another important wild card we have to take into account, and it comes in the form of the McU's...

Fans of long-running franchises always have strong opinions when it comes to casting beloved characters. But this is expanded tenfold in the realm of comic book movies. Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of 2025's most anticipated films, as Marvel's First Family will finally join the annals of the MCU. Fans were overjoyed when Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach were cast as Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, respectively. But, surprisingly, it was Pedro Pascal's casting as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, that kicked up the biggest storm of backlash on the internet. Actors often stay off social media to avoid such negativity, but Pascal recently revealed that he was painfully aware of the response to his MCU casting.

Yesterday's final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps wowed fans, but as well as keeping Galactus under wraps, there was still no sign of the movie's supporting cast: Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.
Malkovich is thought to be playing Red Ghost, a classic Fantastic Four villain who pitted his Super-Apes against Marvel's First Family to prove that his country, Russia, was superior to the United States.
Now, though, there's speculation that Malkovich might have been cut from The Fantastic Four: First Steps entirely. The actor's name is missing from an otherwise identical synopsis included in the press release sent out for yesterday's trailer (which was also published on Disney's website).
Here's the revised version of The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast list sent out by Disney, along with how it previously appeared:

Pedro Pascal On ‘Fantastic Four’ Casting Backlash: “He’s Too Old. He’s Not Right. He Needs To Shave”
Pedro Pascal is set to star in The Fantastic Four: First Steps in the role of Mister Fantastic.
The actor is not new to stepping into franchises with major fan bases, like playing the Mandalorian in the Star Wars universe or starring in The Last of Us. In a new interview, Pascal addresses the initial backlash over his casting in the Marvel film.
“I’m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I’ve ever done,” Pascal told Vanity Fair about playing Reed Richards.
Some of the criticism the actor heard following his casting was, “He’s too old. He’s not right. He needs to shave.”

The final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released earlier today (you can watch it here if you missed it). Now, we have a new 30-second TV spot featuring even more never-before-seen footage from the Marvel Studios reboot.
There are some stunning shots of the Silver Surfer racing into action, while Johnny Storm seems mighty interested in the "sexy alien" who serves as Galactus' Herald.
With a month remaining until The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters, there are still plenty of marketing opportunities left for Marvel Studios. We'd bet on character posters, featurettes, and plenty more TV spots following in the coming weeks, so you'll want to keep checking back here for those the moment they drop.
The movie's production designer, Kasra Farahani, recently discussed her approach to creating The Fantastic Four's Fantasticar. "The lines are beautiful and slick, based on mid-'60s American concept...

"It's clobberin' time," whether The Thing wants to say it or not. Marvel Studios has released a final trailer for its next blockbuster, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The final First Steps trailer shows Marvel's First Family's Sunday dinner being interrupted by the arrival of the Silver Surfer (Julie Garner), who tells them, "I herald his beginning. I herald your end. I herald... Galactus." With the end of their world on the line, the Fantastic Four try to figure out a way to stop Galactus, with The Thing suggesting that they try and crush him. This is just one of many highlights featuring Ebon Moss-Bachrach's The Thing shown in the trailer, with another being his refusal to say "It's clobberin' time." Check out the final trailer for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie below.

The entire plot of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps, along with every major story development, surprise character appearance, and post-credit scene detail, has seemingly leaked online.
The breakdown was shared on Reddit, and while we're all fully aware that the site does get its share of fake "leaks," we've reached out to a source who is confident that everything is on the level. Plus, based on what we already know about the movie, there's nothing here that stands out as being overly far-fetched or hard to believe.
With this in mind, beware of potentially major spoilers from this point on.
The breakdown reveals that the movie opens with a montage showing the team's past battles against Mole Man and "Red Ghost and his chimps." In present day, Sue Storm learns that she's pregnant shortly before the Silver Surfer arrives to inform them that Galactus is on his way to devour their planet.

It's (Nearly) Clobberin' Time In Cosmic Final Trailer And Poster For The Fantastic Four: First Steps
The final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has arrived, and this will give you chills. It's accompanied by a poster featuring Galactus looming over New York City, not dissimilar to The Watcher.
This latest sneak peek is heavy on action and features plenty of superpowers as we get to see what Marvel's First Family is capable of. As expected, Franklin Richards does look to be a CG creation, but it's hard to fault the visual effects (and it might have been better to head down this route than American Sniper's infamous doll).
The Silver Surfer speaks in this trailer, warning of the coming of Galactus. Frustratingly, Marvel Studios is keeping the villain's face under wraps, a questionable decision when The Fantastic Four: First Steps would arguably benefit from the level of hype that reveal would bring.
Regardless, The Thing not saying "It's Clobberin' Time" is a recurring theme here,...

The latest addition in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thunderbolts*, just reached theatres at the start of last month – but the next entry in the franchise isn’t far off, as The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to reach theatres on July 25th. With that date exactly one month away, the final trailer for the film has now dropped online and can be seen in the embed above.
There have been several attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the screen over the years, to varying levels of success. Roger Corman produced a low budget adaptation of the comic book back in 1994, but it was never officially released. Tim Story directed two big budget Fantastic Four movies that were released by 20th Century Fox, Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer arrives later today, and another teaser has just landed on social media. This one sees the Human Torch encouraging The Thing to say "It's Clobberin' Time," with little success.
However, as Johnny flies Ben to the ground below, we see that The Thing is rocking (pun intended) a beard. It's not made of hair, but actual rock, harkening back to a version of the character seen in Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four #605. That run heavily inspired filmmaker Matt Shakman's take on Marvel's First Family.
Why does The Thing have a beard? This points to us getting a time jump, perhaps after the team travels into outer space to confront Galactus after the Silver Surfer visits Earth. If so, it seems safe to assume they spend months there, suggesting there's a big chunk of the movie we haven't seen.

A new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released later today, and while we wait for that, another teaser is doing the rounds on social media.
Offering a closer look at a few of the scenes from yesterday's official trailer teaser (including Mister Fantastic's stretching powers), we also see Joseph Quinn's Human Torch taking delight in receiving adoration from one of his female fans.
While we expect the McU's Johnny Storm to be less of a player than the Variant portrayed by Chris Evans in the mid-2000s, the hero still having some traits of a ladies' man will be welcomed by fans. We've also heard that he'll have a thing for the female Silver Surfer, so don't fret, this is no chaste take on the Fantastic Four's resident hothead.

Marvel fans expecting a super-sized runtime for The Fantastic Four: First Steps might want to reset their clocks. While AMC Theatres previously listed the film at a generous 130 minutes, the theater chain has just quietly shaved that down. The upcoming MCU reboot is now officially clocking in at 115 minutes, making it the shortest Marvel Studios release of 2025. For context, that’s 1 hour and 55 minutes — a fairly standard runtime by most blockbuster standards, but surprisingly compact for an MCU film that’s introducing a brand-new reality, a massive villain like Galactus, and Marvel’s First Family all in one go.
This isn’t just a minor tweak. The original runtime of 130 minutes (just over two hours) had positioned First Steps among the longer entries in the Multiverse Saga. Now, with only a month to go until the film hits theaters on July 25, AMC’s updated listing brings it down by a full 15 minutes.

A new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives tomorrow, and a teaser has just dropped featuring some thrilling, never-before-seen footage from the Marvel Studios reboot.
That includes a shot of Galactus looming over New York, Reed Richards' stretchy superpowers in action, and the Human Torch creating a "4" from his flames, an iconic piece of imagery lifted straight from the comic books. Hopefully, we can expect more of the same tomorrow.
Mister Fantastic actor Pedro Pascal was recently asked about Reed's greatest weakness and responded, "I think when your mind is always focused on the greater good, you can miss a lot of little details. Knowing those details is very important to keeping the family together."
That echoes what filmmaker Matt Shakman said when he described Mister Fantastic as "part Steve Jobs and part Oppenheimer," adding that the hero has "always [been] on the edge of saving the world or destroying it.

On July 25, Pedro Pascal will become the second actor to portray Mister Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after John Krasinski in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The actor beat out several fan favorites for the superhero role, which led to him being on the receiving end of several unjustified complaints.
In a cover story for Vanity Fair, Pascal admitted that he was well aware of the criticisms and complaints that were thrown in his direction following his casting as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic. "I’m getting an inkling of excitement because it seems to reflect what our common goal was, and what we want to share, which is all of our f***ing hearts on a platter within this genre. You just never know if people are going to be disgusted by your heart or not," he shared. "I’m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Featurette Reveals Some Amazing New Footage; Final Runtime Revealed?
Another trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps lands tomorrow, but a new featurette for the movie is currently being screened in AMC Theaters. That's now found its way online.
It includes plenty of never-before-seen footage from the Marvel Studios reboot, including some awesome behind-the-scenes shots of Marvel's First Family (which includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach in a mo-cap suit as The Thing). We also see the team walking across what looks like it might be a downed Galactus' hand.
Talking of AMC Theaters, and the chain is listing The Fantastic Four: First Steps' runtime as 115 minutes. We'll likely get a confirmed time in the next week or two, but this lines up with what we've been hearing for a while.
Executive producers Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis recently spoke with Kino and learned how much work went into choosing the costumes this superhero team will wear in the MCU.

Scarlett Johansson is gearing up to make her dino debut in Jurassic World Rebirth next week, but another project from the former Marvel star just got an exciting new look. Vertical Entertainment has released the first official trailer for My Mother’s Wedding, which has been in distribution limbo since premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival nearly two years ago. However, Vertical Entertainment has put these rights issues to bed and set the film for release on August 8.
John Micklethwait and Kristin Scott Thomas wrote the script for My Mother’s Wedding, and Thomas also stepped behind the camera to direct the film.

Marvel Studios has announced that the final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released online this Wednesday, and we have a (very) brief new clip featuring Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) and The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
In what we assume to be a few seconds of footage from the upcoming trailer, we see Johnny ask his grouchy teammate what time it is. Ben responds with a curt, "it's dinner time."
So far, we haven't really seen that much interaction between these two, but this is a good sign that the often contentious big brother/little brother dynamic will carry over from the comics.
Have a look at the clip at the link below, along with another RealD 3D teaser that's currently screening in theaters.

After a stellar 2024 marked by critically acclaimed hits like Civil War, Sing Sing, and Baby Girl, expectations were high for what A24 would deliver next. But as 2025 arrived, the indie powerhouse stumbled out of the gate. Its first major release of the year, Opus, landed with more of a whimper than a bang. Despite boasting two of the most in-demand talents in the business in Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich, the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January to a wave of mixed reviews. That lukewarm reception set the tone for its theatrical run, where Opus failed to gain traction at the box office. Now, four months later, the film is set to land on streaming, where broader exposure might offer it a second chance to find an audience.
