John Rubin is an independent filmmaker and winner of four Emmys and a Peabody. He turned to documentaries after completing his doctorate in cognitive science at MIT. While at HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, he executive-produced The Farthest, a feature doc about the heroic Voyager space mission, and Hunt for the Oldest DNA. Before that, at John Rubin Productions and Rubin Tarrant Productions, he wrote, produced, and directed films for the flagship PBS series Nature, American Experience, and NOVA, and made several films for National Geographic Explorer.
