Sean Price Williams is an American cinematographer and filmmaker known for his distinct visual style and significant contributions to independent cinema. Based in New York City, Williams gained recognition for his textured, handheld camerawork and intuitive use of natural light, becoming a key figure in the American indie film movement of the 2010s. He frequently collaborated with directors such as Alex Ross Perry and the Safdie Brothers, with standout work on films like Mad Love in New York (2014) and Queen of Earth (2015).
A former employee of the iconic Kim's Video and Music in New York, Williams also shot a wide range of micro-budget and experimental projects that earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting cinematographers in contemporary American filmmaking. In 2023, he made his feature directorial debut with The Sweet East (2023), which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim.
