  • Actress
IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Ivonne Domingo de Aldecoa was born in Mexico City and professionally is known as Ivonne Armant, built a solid acting career in Mexico City, Spain, and Los Angeles.

Ivonne inherited her passion for acting from her maternal grandmother, Tetè Torres, a well known actress and soprano. Tetè was the first Cuban to take opera and operetta to Mexico City in 1933. Tetè also founded the ANDA (National Association of Actors) along with other celebrities. The family legacy does not end here. Through Ivonne's veins flows the blood of one of the most famous voices of all time, the legendary and famous tenor, Plàcido Domingo, paternal grandfather of the versatile actress.

Ivonne began her career in advertising, when at the age of 15 she became the image of the campaign "Ricolino", popular Mexican candies. She later followed this success with appearances in Mexican soap operas: "Muchachitas", "Imperio de Cristal", and "Madres Egoístas".

Ivonne moved to Los Angeles to start her acting studies at the prestigious Beverly Hills Playhouse Acting School, with the help of actor and director Milton Katselas. In May 2000, she was celebrated in Playboy Magazine as the first Mexican with a celebrity pictorial in the United States and eight covers worldwide. Following these events, Ivonne became a sex symbol, something she would work to overcome as so as to show the depth of her acting talent by carefully choosing her roles in different series and TV shows.

Ivonne participated in "Big Brother VIP" (Spain) in order to break the frivolous and superficial image that resulted from her appearance in Playboy. Breaking the stereotype, Ivonne was proclaimed the winner of the reality show with 68% of the popular vote, especially supported by the female audience. Ivonne becomes one of the most beloved personalities of Spain, playing roles in such popular series as "El Autèntico Rodrigo Leal", along with Ivan Sanchez. Also, "Ellas y el Sexo Dèbil", sharing the screen with actress and producer Ana Obregón.

In 2011, Ivonne was awarded the Mexican "Premio Gaviota", dedicated to distinguished persons in the field of arts, journalism, business and fashion. Ivonne received recognition as a prominent artist of international prestige, combining projects as an actress and TV host, while traveling between Spain and the United States.

In 2013, Ivonne appeared in the film "1KM", directed by Roberto Galar.

Ivonne is determined to start her own projects including producing a sic-fi pilot for an English language TV series call;ed "Choose". The sic-fi series is filmed in Spain, but targeted for the American media market.

Is the granddaughter of the famous tenor Plácido Domingo
    • Quotes
The earthquake in México City had just happened. On television, my father Pepe (José Domingo) was saying that he had lived in the building Nuevo León with his first wife Margarita and their daughter Ivonne. My mother was afraid that I would find out the truth from other people, so she decided to tell me of whom I was the daughter and granddaughter of. Imagine my surprise! I already admired Plácido Domingo when I watched him on television, and when I found out he was my grandfather, I couldn't believe it!
