The Cat in the Hat will have to wait a little longer to unleash his shenanigans as the release of the upcoming animated film has been pushed back. The film was originally slated to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, but Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Animation have announced that the film will now be released on November 6, 2026.

The delay isn’t due to the production needing more time — it’s reportedly ready to go for February — but the studio believes it will do better closer to the holiday season, when families and kids are more available to head to the movies.

The Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja directed and written adaptation of the popular kids’ book is ready for February, the studio just prefers the pre-holiday corridor for global playability, Warners already having reserved the Nov. 6 date for an event film. November is home to such iconic family event franchises like Harry Potter, Home Alone, Frozen, Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, Wreck-It Ralph, and Trolls.

Voices in the movie are Bill Hader, who plays the title role, as well as Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess. Pic is produced by Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern. EPs are Susan Brandt and Hader.

Xochitl Gonzalez will pen the screenplay based on her bestselling novel about a first-generation Ivy League student who uncovers the genius work of a female artist decades after her suspicious death. “Anita de Monte Laughs Last” has been described as “a propulsive, witty examination of power, love, and art, daring to ask who gets to be remembered and who is left behind in the rarefied world of the elite.” Published in 2024, the novel was a Reese’s Book Club Pick and made the year’s best lists from Kirkus, Time, NPR, Goodreads and Electric Lit, among others.

Following her feature directorial debut with Flamin’ Hot, Eva Longoria is returning to Searchlight Pictures for a new feature, an adaptation of the novel Anita De Monte Laughs Last.

The novel by Xochitl Gonzalez, who will adapt her work for the screen, is a mystery that intertwines the stories of Raquel, a first-generation Ivy League art student in 1998, and Anita, an artist from the 1980s who was largely forgotten after her suspicious death. When Raquel discovers Anita’s work, she also uncovers unexpected parallels between their lives.

Along with Cris Abrego and Jada Miranda, Longoria will produce via her Hyphenate Media Group, which will soon release Eva Longoria: Searching for France on CNN and Necaxa on FX. SVP of Production Taylor Friedman and creative executive Daniel Yu will be overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures.

Longoria will next direct the Paula Pell-penned Netflix comedy The Fifth Wheel, which has Gloria Sanchez attached to produce.

Talk about cat-itude. Following in the pawsteps of Mike Myers and Martin Short, Bill Hader is the latest actor to embody Dr. Seuss's iconic chapeau-wearing feline in Warner Bros. Animation's upcoming animated version of The Cat in the Hat. Exclusive: After a competitive bidding battle, Amazon MGM Studios has landed the package for a live-action movie revolving around the Bratz doll line with Kim Kardashian and Picturestart on board to produce. Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are writing the script, and while a deal is not closed, sources say Kardashian is being eyed to play the villain in the project.

Erik Feig and Julia Hammer will produce for Picturestart with Kardashian, and Jason and Jasmin Larian producing for Mga. Mga’s Isaac Larian will executive produce.

Right at the end of 2024, a bunch of "Girls5Eva" fans — myself very much included — got terrible news. According to Variety and other major outlets, the show — which moved from Peacock to Netflix after the conclusion of its second season and premiered its third on Reed Hastings' streamer — never made it into Netflix's top 10. That meant it just wasn't popular enough, so it got axed.

This is a crying shame because "Girls5Eva," created by "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" veteran Meredith Scardino, is just so unbelievably funny, and I personally rallied for its third season to earn a spot on /Film's list of the best TV shows of 2024. With Tina Fey and Robert Carlock on board as executive producers, it's no surprise that the jokes fly just as fast as they did on that duo's outstanding show "30 Rock," and the plot of this unfortunately canceled comedy is pretty irresistable to boot: Former...

“SNL is built on Add, procrastination and people who can really focus at the very end of the day — it’s also a psychological torture chamber,” says Dana Carvey, castmember from 1986 to 1993.

Everybody's Live with John Mulaney wraps up season 1 tonight. And for the finale on Netflix, John Mulaney is calling on one more Saturday Night Live great as a guest.

Mulaney's follow-up to Everybody's In LA has been a hit for the comedian, showcasing more of his absuridst side. It's a natural successor to Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Mulaney isn't afraid to admit as much.

So it's fitting that Mulaney is going back to the SNL well for the finale and calling in one of Conan O'Brien's favorite guests: Adam Sandler. The actor and Saturday Night Live alum leads the guest lineup for tonight's season 1 finale.

Comedian Joe Mande and actor Sean Penn are also expected to appear. Tonight's musical guest is Sleater-Kinney featuring Fred Armisen. Plus, Mulaney promises to deliver on fighting three teenagers on air.

Eva Longoria is coming back to the director’s chair for Kim Kardashian’s The Fifth Wheel. Just days after the duo were spotted together enjoying Lauren Sanchez’s bachelorette party, the 50-year-old actress-turned-filmmaker is at the helm of Kardashian’s upcoming project.

Following her success at the silver screen with the 2023 biographical drama Flamin’ Hot, Longoria is once again coming back to the realm of filmmaking. In the upcoming Netflix project, she will be directing one of Lauren Sanchez’s fellow girl gang members and the reality star, Kim Kardashian.

While the plot of the story is yet to be revealed, it is known that the film will revolve around the Skims founder’s character, who will be playing a “fifth wheel” amidst a female ensemble cast.

Eva Longoria is set to direct Kim Kardashian‘s upcoming project.

The 50-year-old actress has signed on to direct the Netflix comedy film The Fifth Wheel, which Kim will be starring in.

If you didn’t know, it was announced that Kim will be acting in and producing The Fifth Wheel in November 2023, and the movie found its home at Netflix a week later.

Plot details are currently not known, however, Kim will be playing a “fifth wheel” alongside a female ensemble cast.

The Fifth Wheel will be written by longtime Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell, and Janine Brito. Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Cris Abrego will produce.

As for Eva, the producers were looking for a female director, and decided on her due to the success of her 2023 film Flamin’ Hot, according to Deadline.

Earlier this month, Eva and Kim both attended Lauren Sanchez‘s bachelorette party.

The premise is fun and allows us to experience a new type of Superbad-style sex comedy for the first half. Abby and Santa Monica are obviously polar opposites, with their ridiculous dynamic providing laughs for the first bit of the film.
