Focusing on the wealthy Hornsby family and their efforts to keep their cracker conglomerate open, Royal Crackers charts the awkward, bizarre, and surprisingly heartfelt relationship between the put-upon Stebe (Jason Ruiz), his ambitious wife Deb (Jessica St. Clair), his nu-metal dirtbag brother Theo (Andrew Santino), and his soft-spoken and sweet-natured son Matt (Maile Flanagan). Alongside their board of directors -- and a few lingering manipulations from Stebe's now largely comatose father -- the Hornsby family is just as likely to burn the whole business down as they are to save it.
The series takes a Succession-style concept and gives it some of that anarchic energy Adult Swim is known for, all hiding a surprisingly strong emotional throughline about a flawed but enduring family's efforts to chart their future. During an interview with Cbr, Royal Crackers Creator and star Jason Ruiz breaks down the biggest surprises he discovered across the show's first season,...

The following contains spoilers for Unicorn: Warriors Eternal Season 1, Episodes 1 and 2, "The Awakening Part 1" and "The Awakening Part 2", which premiered May 7 on Adult Swim and is available to stream now on HBO Max.
Genndy Tartakovsky, famed creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack, has struck animated gold once again with this latest epic series, Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. The series revolves around a trio of magical warriors whose souls are resurrected throughout time in order to battle a reoccurring force of malevolent evil. The premiere episodes have introduced an intriguing mythical and action-packed story with a cast of incredibly fascinating characters, but have also raised several questions about them.
The unique mythology behind the characters, their conflict and their most recent awakening not only lends itself to an already entertaining premise but shows that it could also potentially be used to explore some dark themes similar to Tartakovsky's other series, Primal.

Adult Swim continues its long and storied tradition of making animation that engenders shocks and giggles with Ballmastrz: Rubicon. The adult animated special, which airs at midnight on February 20, serves as a sequel to the events of Ballmasterz: 9009 season 2. As secrets from Crayzar’s past threaten the future of the planet, he is faced with a terrifying cosmic dilemma: grow some balls and bring Team Earth together, or leave humanity to the proverbial intergalactic wolves.
Created by Christy Karacas (Superjail!), Ballmastrz: Rubicon is a must-watch special for fans of the original series. With Japan's STUDIO4℃ (Detroit Metal City) in charge of the animation, the story and characters look better than ever. Speaking of characters, fearless leader Gaz Digzy is back in action and she's still voiced by Natasha Lyonne. Cartoon Network’s Adults Swim has ordered second seasons for two popular series from international animation studio Titmouse: Christy Karacas’ sci-fi comedy “Ballmastrz: 9009” and Andrew Koehler and Benjamin Martian’s fantasy series “Tigtone.”
According to Koehler, now an executive producer on “Tigtone” – along with Martin and “Workaholics” alum Blake Anderson, “‘Tigtone’ is doing what legends do best: continuing! If he were real, he’d be beyond excited for his shiny new second season.”
The series, which participated in the TV competition at last month’s Annecy Festival, is a fantasy series based on its quest-addicted hero, Tigtone. Poking fun at the fantasy genre and tropes from the video games, table-top games, films and series spawned from it, Tigtone hacks and slashes his way from one adventure to the next with little to no regard for his surroundings or the damage he causes to it along the way.

Just as the way we consume movies has changed in recent years with the advances in smartphone and tablet technologies, the way filmmakers make films has changed as well. In this day and age, companies are developing software and hardware to make life on-set easier for those wielding cameras. We’re excited to partner with them to debut the first episode, which you can watch just after the jump. The first episode, which premieres today right here on Film School Rejects, profiles filmmaker Chayse Irvin. Chayse’s recent films include the documentary Spirit in the Stone and Blacktino, a feature film that premiered at SXSW. Superjail! (2007-) has somehow made itself to a third season and humanity continues to suffer. If Christy Karacas’s endless montage of stupid violence has an audience, it is almost certainly heavily medicated. In fact, illicit drug use may go some way to explain both the audience and the content of the show. The many and varied ways in which the inmates of Superjail are slaughtered would be impressive if the boundless imagination weren’t spent on mayhem. Fever dream is an overused term, but if it ever applies, it applies to Superjail! The tiniest thread of a story ties an episode together less so than the last image of any sequence (which is usually an inmate’s face being ripped off).

Superjail
Stars the voices of: David Wain, Teddy Cohn, Richard Mathar, Christopher McCulloch, Christy Karacas | Created by Ben Gruber, Christy Karacas, Steve Warbrick
Housed on an island, in a volcano within a volcano, Superjail! is a psychedelic prison run by a megalomaniacal warden and his motley crew. The Warden is the whimsical heir to a hallucinatory correctional facilities empire where grotesque ultra-violence and ridiculous perversion rule the day.
Let’s get this out of the way first, Superjail! is one of the freakiest, bizarre, and downright weird animated shows I have ever seen. It’s like watching the result of a brain fart on screen… and comes across as the grotesque offspring of MTV’s Beavis and Butthead, prison drama Oz and classic Nickelodeon cartoon Ren & Stimpy. And I loved it!
